  • Thats why you buy the Fall of the Samurai DLC and use a gatling gun to mow the ninjas down (hahahaha Shogun 2: Total War reference :)

  • Well, Ninja were commonly employed as assassins. While it differed greatly in what tactics they used - (depends on the school of Ninjutsu) they all revolved around speed, stealth and surgical strikes rather than brute force.

In contrast, the Samurai were the frontline warriors. Troops who would take the fight straight to the enemy head on.

Both have excellent techniques and are considered some of the best warriors of their ages.

  • Samurai - 1

    Ninjas - 0

  • 0:20 that's loyalty at its highest

  • 3:17 coolest movie moment of all times

  • Ujio is 1 cool samurai

  • It seems to me the battle between Samurai and Ninja is forever long...

  • I don't care what anyone says old man "Bob" is a fucking beast in this movie.

  • @SellswordCC Well that's the thing most people overlook, you don't become an old man in that kind of profession without being scary-good at what you do.

  • @FerretJohn hah. very true. Sadly the only reason why bob died in the movie is cause he took a bolt action round to the chest to save tom cruise :(

  • Battle cry FTW

  • the scene with the guys jumping through the walls is funny as hell

  • Seems Algrens 1 handed saber skills helped him in the last part of the fight

  • Now, you have to realize, this is FULL OF SHIT. In reality, a REAL ninja raid - not a scene trying desperately to make look those pseudo Saigo and Brunet look like SoulCalibur characters - would have wiped out AT LEAST the main objectives. This movie is a failure as historical fiction, even below Braveheart standards, and only retarded weeaboos and flea-infested uyos like this stinking piece of shit.

  • Lol did this happen in real life?

  • for me 3:20 was the coolest part when all of them roared in victory... so cool

  • Has anyone figured out what bob's (toms guard) real name is?

  • @TheFreelancer117

    福本清三(Fukumoto Senzo)

  • @TheFreelancer117 i wondered too what's his name .. well, just call him bob .. =)

  • He yelled "do you beat your meat?" They answered "yeaaaaah"

  • Look very carefully at the background from 2:18 - 2:22

Did they mean to show Tom Cruise stabbing the guy at that moment before the kid even engaged the Ninja, but he stabs the guy later on from 2:25 - 2:28 (note thg kid is already fully engaged in the fight) at that time.

I wonder did they mean to do that. I noticed it a long time ago, but never thought much about it, now I'm curious lol.

  • @RashawnBlue1 No. It's just a filming mistake. They filmed both the moment he stabbed the guy and the moment the kid was fighting at the same time with two cameras. I guess they accidentally caught Tom on film.

  • sooooooooo epic!

  • FUCKIN BADASS YO. I MEAN DAMN.

  • what the hell is said at the end. i agree with everyone, itz so fuckin powerful. i mean like ive heard powerful things bein said but what was said at the end just topped them all.

  • @TheJaydog1122

Ujio says "Muda urusai ?" - "are you still breathing" something like "your head are still there?"

  • @Mokele77 Thanks dude. I watch this vid all the time, like 24/7

  • @Mokele77

    that is wrong sir...

Ujio was yelling "全部殺した!"(Zenbu Koroshita), "We've killed them all!"

  • @jasoncsh I always wanted to know what he was yelling. Thanks. :-)

  • Finally a movie when ninja can be killed :P

  • what a brutal battle...

  • Fuck tom cruise.

  • 0:20

OWR GENERUR IS IN GRAVE DANGUR!

  • That last word ujio says, what does it mean. I love the way he says it, it's so powerful.

  • @miss19lolo

I gave the translation few lines above

  • I admire both: ninja and samurai. They are always my favorite.o_o

  • The yell at the end just got me gossebumps over and over again...

  • @Semeiron fuck goosebumps, that shit gave me a boner

  • Ninja rules...

  • our Kishio Ninjas are runing daiyamo, shamefull display

  • Looks like my ninjas failed at the assination...

  • I'd take the mute old man and that husky, crotchety bearded cat to battle ANY DAY ... they take on two and three at a time! And Ujio ... need I say more. The battle cry is the SICKEST!!!

  • @daTruChosen I agree. The battle cry gives me chills every time! LOVE IT!

  • 1:02 - 1:12 if this were a game that would have been the best combo EVER

  • Samurai vs Ninjas, both so badass, don't know who to root for!

  • I love how Ninjas run.

  • when real ninjas existed. Now they're a bunch of virgins that play WOW all day and have no life.

  • UJIO UJIO UJIO !!!

  • @danitheslayerturk : kawaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • @Ineylah 3:18 ;)

  • @danitheslayerturk : yes especially at that moment. I could eat him : )))))

  • samurai vs ninja sounds for me like alien vs predator...oh what glory days!

  • @BigBoiShorty - I concur. xD

  • Wow, postings on Youtube that are actually intelligent and informative. Thank you!

  • so how are ninja able to out-duel samurai?

  • @DonCorleone87 because most ninja were samurai....

  • samurai are bad ass and samurai killed a buch of ninjas.

  • Kishio Ninja FTW

  • The mysterious nature of the ninja has long captured popular imagination in Japan, and later the rest of the world. Ninjas figure prominently in folklore and legend, and as a result it is often difficult to separate historical fact from myth. Some legendary abilities include invisibility, walking on water, and control over natural elements. The ninja is also prevalent in popular culture, appearing in many forms of entertainment media.

  • These writings revealed an assortment of philosophies, religious beliefs, their application in warfare, as well as the espionage techniques that form the basis of the ninja's art. The word ninjutsu would later come to describe a wide variety of practices related to the ninja.

  • Following the unification of Japan under the Tokugawa shogunate, the ninja descended again into obscurity. However, in the 17th and 18th centuries, manuals such as the Bansenshukai (1676) - often centered around Chinese military philosophy - appeared in significant numbers.

  • The word shinobi did not exist to describe a ninja-like agent until the 15th century, and it is unlikely that spies and mercenaries prior to this time were seen as a specialized group. In the unrest of the Sengoku period (15th - 17th centuries), mercenaries and spies for hire arose out of the Iga and Kōga regions of Japan, and it is from these clans that much of later knowledge regarding the ninja is inferred.

  • The origin of the ninja is obscure and difficult to determine, but can be surmised to be around the 14th century. However, the antecedents to the Ninja may have existed as early as the Heian and early Kamakura eras. Few written records exist to detail the activities of the ninja.

  • In his Buke Myōmokushō, military historian Hanawa Hokinoichi writes of the ninja:

"They travelled in disguise to other territories to judge the situation of the enemy, they would inveigle their way into the midst of the enemy to discover gaps, and enter enemy castles to set them on fire, and carried out assassinations, arriving in secret."

  • A ninja or shinobi was a covert agent or mercenary of feudal Japan specializing in unorthodox arts of war. The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infiltration, and assassination, as well as open combat in certain situations. The ninja, using covert methods of waging war, were contrasted with the samurai, who had strict rules about honor and combat.

  • Bob fighting!

  • wow and they arent even wearing any armor

  • Ujio is bad ass motherfucker jumps like a cat

  • @losteden lmao!

  • among the samurai casualties i think they're alot more wounded more than killed but still heay losses but beat them candy ass ninjas, by this time they're not cool they're only hired guns

  • WORST NINJA ASSUALT EVER!

  • Katana>Ninjato

  • Somebody bumped the turn table during the victory cry or what?

  • @buddacafe

Sounds like it, yeah. And that's a shame.

  • fighting in wars like this took REAL balls!

  • @fortune7261

Yeah. About as much as when you have to withstand hours, if not days of continuous artillery bombing.

  • bob(tom cruise gaurd) is whoopin ass

  • @texasplaya191 haha i agree, hes awesome in these scenes!

  • @texasplaya191 Everyone should have a Bob at their side.

  • but fucking ninjas?

  • Not to be un-philosophical and all that, but...fucking ninjas.

  • i have to say, that is one awesome fight scene. Whats better than samurai fighting ninjas. Maybe wallace fighting the english.

  • the next scene makes me laugh after this when Katsumoto says 'A perfect blossom is a rare thing, you could spend your whole life looking for one and it would not be a wasted life' because actually it probably would be a wasted life

  • Ninja were mercenaries. They were artists in stealth, specialists in the disreputable—in espionage, infiltration, and sudden death. –James Clavell, “Shogun”

  • that victory cry made me jizz my pants

  • samurai rules all day

  • This movies' an all-time favorite.

  • Actually these ninjas are very good, perhaps the best at that time. Look at 2:49. Cruise is good then but can't fight that one. Only the samurais are better.

  • Ninjas are bitches. Yeah!

  • i fucking love this scene...

i think i just soiled my self

  • that yell at the end is just epic when they all do it ...it just ties in the badass feeling

  • @sbk632 i like totally agree,

  • @sbk632 sounds like HOW WAS THAT! YAAAAAAAAAAAA!

  • one twilight fan pissed in his pants seeing the real fight while 152 "the samurai fan" laughed at his clumsiness.

  • Ninja's ain't got shit!

  • Proof that a movie is always better when you add ninjas.

  • actually ninjas r better than that but yes one to one fight sanurai is superior, but the hard work is locate the ninja, they have so many tricks and abilityu to be like fighting against na transparent opponent..

  • Ujiu is the best example of a true samurai!

  • ninjas are black??

  • @brainwasher9876 Face paint.

  • Katsumoto

  • @LordPaynus Says you.

  • @solitaryman098 Um, yes, yes I did say that.

    ?

  • In actuality the ninja was much more than an assassin, he was a spy, a master of disguise and espionage, a special operative of the feudal Japanese world.

In a one-on-one fight vs a samurai they would likely lose, however, due to this being Hollywood, they send tens of them in where only one would have been needed.

Invade a village or kill the general in his bed?

    I'd take the latter.

  • @jobe5514 i think the rest of the ninjas wer backup if plan A failed, which did...n the sniping on the rooftop wen everybody was caught offguard with katsumoto fooling arnd on the stage was a pretty good oppurtunity 2 kill him...but i'd still choose killing katsumoto while hes asleep...

  • @madzz87 the leader of every leader of samurai at least hastwo samurai watchingm him, so, the roof plan was almost perfetc

  • @MrOxidizer errr...what??

  • @madzz87 hahahaha i mean, Katsumoto is aways protected in bed, so the theatrical part waas a better chance for the ninjas to attack

  • @MrOxidizer oh haha...yeah i never thght abt that...

  • @madzz87 i'd have to agree with you there,or poison the flowers on the trees around his temple so when the wind blew it carried the powder with it killing him in the process

  • Ujio yells at the end

    "These fools got owned"

  • Good scene but Ninjas were too under-rated here... I mean, in a 1 v 1 A Samurai is better, but not that better like here. Goos scene.. lets say, 7 samurais= 10 ninjas

  • Like it when Katsumoto kills like a maniac. So badass><

  • Ninjas were only assassins ... their garb, their weapons, everything are just for night assassinations. They blend into the night, they throw pointy things and kill a target. Samurai are actual warriors.. in a 1v1in the daytime I believe a samurai would win only because he has armor and is an experienced warrior. In the night he would only have to find out where the ninja is but I'd still bet on the samurai.

  • @BlackOps78321 They were more than that, but thats what they want you to think ok...don't get me wrong but your argument sounds very simplystic, are you american by any chance?

  • @subroto81 Meh, what? I can barely even understand you and it seems obvious that you're a little dumb (and also racist / ignorant) from the start. Creeping thru the night to kill a general is different than the 'art of the sword' (precision killing with a katana) and actual battlefield warfare. As much as movies and perhaps your heritage would like you to think that ninjas are 'elite' they are only really assassins (even though its always been considred Japan's best / coolest ancient warrior).

  • @BlackOps78321 well the only thing that this whole fight scene could even be close to accurate is the invasion of Koga and niga the ninja's hometowns... there was probably alot of this kind of fighting when the samurai super invades those towns but other than that its stupid...

they killed people alot in the daytime too...

  • Ujio showing the ninjas how it's done, it's so cool when he kills 3 opponents in one fluid move at 1:07

  • @qrrbrbirbel2 soooooooooo sexy!

  • to be honest though...ninja are there for assassination only...people may think that samurai are better than ninja but actually they both are good on their own way so i would say that one is better than another...

  • fucking ninjas, strong as the fire, speed of the wind....huh...MY AAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

  • such a good scene..left a big impression on me

  • ninjas r such pussies

  • @lion3p0 Sure they are.

  • @lion3p0 yeah well, ninjas are hired asasins they used sneaky attacks, unlike samurai, they fought bravely face to face with the enemy,

  • over 3 greatest minutes in movie i've ever watched...!!

  • 忍者

  • 0:51 shuriken to the throat! OUCH!! sucks to be him.

    Excellent movie btw

  • fuck ninjas samurais are the best!

  • the ninjas were fewer right i didn saw many of them thats why they lost[yeah i know when they are on a stealth mission they are not many

  • @johncena271 no the ninjas lost cuz samurai are better at fighting. which is why they used guerrilla tactics like surprise attacks. notice in the beginning the ninjas were dominating thats cuz they had surprise. but towards the end the samurai started to dominate, thats cuz they are better trained.

  • @umidontno040394 yeah you may be right but the ninjas were badass too lol

  • Bob kicks ass!

  • victory cry

    Ujio " Hitorimo nogasuna ! "

in English " Don't allow them to escape ! "

  • @taakaa40 damn i cant upvote this enough!! you rock! ive been trying to find out what it means and stuff. thanks!

  • they know they from the hood cause when Ujio said something at the end, it sounded like he said "wassup?" XD

  • 1 disliker hes fucking gay everybody like good ninja scenes

  • @emofaraway I believe the ninja to be... coward :D

  • Hiroyuki Sanada Kicked ass in this scene

  • In Real Life... Tom Cruise would have got his shit kicked in by Ninjas....

  • When Ujio yells their victory call, it's a shame the audio went off for half a second : it spoils it all.

  • He like sent a battalion of ninjas against them. Probably killed 1/4 of the samurais.

  • 3:18

  • to much blood and violance...but still its an AWESOME movie

  • @NEMERITEANDSHUNI Its fuedal Japan transitioning to Imperial Japan all there ever was is violence

  • @NEMERITEANDSHUNI

Too much blood and violence ? Hey, that's a movie about the birth of Modern Japan.

All countries were born not in the alcohol from costly banquets, nor in the silk worn by some haughty and insgnificant nobles, but in the rough clothes worn by soldiers who shed their blood througout history.

So a film about the birth of a country can't be anything but somehow violent.

    That's just my opinion, though.

  • @Briselance I totaly agree with you.

  • @ChineseCalligraphy

Thanks ;-) Though I might add diplomacy always played a very important, and even crucial role.

(If you speak about my longer comment, that is. ;-) )

  • @Briselance we dont giv a shit about the brith of morden japan

  • @irishwarlord100

Correction : You don't give a shit about this, you semi illiterate man.

P.S.: Would you please be so kind to make some efforts to type a little bit better ?

  • i love in this move that the Last Samurai was an American i just have to lolz at that

  • @Zak4421 Katsumoto was the Last Samurai, not Tom Cruise. Cruise's character simply fought alongside Katsumoto. It would've been ridiculous for an American to be a samurai.

  • i love how in this move the Last Samurai was an American i just have to lolz at that

  • how many damned ninja did he send!?

  • @Konata2010

I don't know for sure, but my resources tell me it's between many and too many. ^^

  • @Konata2010 Not enough.

  • The Ninjas were so much more badass.

  • I wonder how Naruto and his gang would have fared against the samurai...

  • i think he say '' we fucked them'' and the other respond yeaaaah :p

  • @kibis85 hahahaha

  • this movie prolly has one of the most realistic ninja scene in a movie

  • ninjas are just bitches if they cant will thell sneak while your asleep cause they cant win eather way

  • @rukiahentai313

Ninjas are trained assassins man. You wouldn't call a modern day assassin that snipes his target from afar a bitch so why would you a ninja. their job is to kill and that's what they do. :/

  • Dont fuck wit the Samurai :)

  • Man.. Imagine if gunpowder was never invented.. Our wars would still be like this. So much more honorable and badass. xD

  • @PheelipTheGreat did you really just say that hacking each other to death with sharp pieces of metal is "honorable and badass"?

  • @pacificimporters Yes =) Because it takes strength and skill - and luck, which was by them seen as favour from the gods.

  • This scene is a testament to the fighting spirit of the Japenese people. The Japanese people knew all about the art of fighting.
