  • LOL. This game looks good at GF8600; Core 2 2,5GHz and 1GB of ram.

  • I have GTX470 SOC All Max 32xCSAA 16xAF HASO on 1680x1050 and the 50-60fps

  • Is it okay to use this video card at a resoloution of 1440x900?

  • @vfgud yeah but it will be wasted power. you might wanna get a 470 or 570 for that resolution and save yourself a boat load of cash!

  • @ereetos

I was also thinking of buying a Phenom II x2 will a dual core bottleneck a GTX 470?

  • @vfgud you probably want at least a quad core. more newer games are utilizing quads. one example of such is CoD Black Ops. it ran much better on quads than dual cores.

  • I have a 1680x1050. I hope I will be OK with a GTX 570 which should arrive today.

I have an i7 860 at 4.2ghz. I might lower it to 4.0ghz because havijng a little problem.

  • could you please explain to me the full meaning of "bottleneck" ? and i have a 19 inch monitor with max resolution 1440x900(which is not much but i love it).do you think a GTX260 would be able to run any game at high without lags?cause i just learnt that infact GPUs performance change according to monitors.and tha a GTX280 could deliver the same performance of an 480 with a smaller monitor.am i right? and do you have few tips to NOT make fraps eat your fps like a hungry little bastard?

    ---R@y---

  • @rayx167 Bottlenecks can occurr if you play with a powerful video card at low resolution. Your video card isn't being pushed hard enough and all that power is pretty much wasted unless you massively overclock your CPU to match. a GTX260 or 280 at 1440x900 resolution is probably a good choice for you. Monitor brand or type has no impact on FPS performance but monitor size does because the larger the monitor the higher native resolution it will have. Try recording your FRAPS at half res with 25fps

  • Just for perspective. Dual 9800GTX+'s can only run this game at 40-45 fps with no AA @ 1080p, DX9 and Bloom and HSAO off. (medium Settings)

  • i have GT120 and yes I do have some lag and yes I do have to put some of the settings on low and medium but Im still happy to play this game no matter how it looks!

  • I have a HD 4670 and get on high with HBAO on and 4x AA 16-60 fps.

Not bad for a mainstream card........

Do I need to upgrade when I get fps that good for the card on the max? I get even better on low. On SP it never lags so my internet is a problem there. I was thinking of 480 but its too much so I think I'll leave a new gpu for my birthday next year.

    I have a 8400 pehnom 2.1gz x3 so is a gtx 295 worth it?

  • @Avataryoutuification i would not upgrade your video card with that cpu. a 4670 isn't bad if you're getting that FPS and upgrading to a monster video card will probably not increase your FPS much with that phenom unless you're playing at 1920x1080 res or higher. a gtx 295 or higher video card would be bottlenecked by the phenom cpu at lower resolutions.

  • @Avataryoutuification buy good cooler like noctua nh-12, megahelms, termalight or something, overlock cpu to 3.0 ghz, gtx 295 don,t have dir 11, better is gtx 460 if you don't have enough cash.

  • Hey man, I noticed you posted this back in April. Have you noticed any improvements with the latest drivers? You should be in the 50 fps range if you were getting mid 40s.

  • @whiteyonwelfare yea it went up a bit but i kinda stopped playing the game now that starcraft is out ;)

  • This is really impressive

Specially when you're considering that you're running it maxed out with HSAO 32xCSAA and 16xAF on!

    Great graphics!

    Great performance!

    Great card!

And this is coming from an ATI fanboy :)!

(Who recently became a ATI/Nvidia fanboy because I couldn't pick a side xD)

  • @TheBrokenToast

thanks! id probably have gotten a 5870 but i had a string of bad ATI cards back in the 9700 pro days which kinda turned me off to ATI ;\

  • @ereetos Aww.. Things like that suck :(

    Buuuut,

I do have some good news tho!

Lately the 58'Series from ATI have given really great results and no problems at all :)!

Except the 5970 which is apperantly having driver issues that causes it's fan to stop.. But they'll hopefulyl fix that ^^

Bottom line: The 58'Series are trustable in performance and graphics just like the latest Nvidia cards :D!

    And one more thing..

Keep up your good work and keep those vids coming! :)

  • @ereetos May i butt in here - i certainly like nvidia's cards, and i like their driver support (ATI catalyst drivers have seriously been fucked with so that BFBC2 doesnt work on any of the new versions), but what i found, was that the GTX 480 was about 50 quid less than the 5970 black edition, and the 5970 is a dual GPU as apposed to the 480 which is a single gpu - why pay about as much for less?

  • @100flobby well if its only slightly more money you may as well get the 5970. however out here the 5970 is like an extra $200

  • FPS? Also, how much noise does it make?

  • are you using crt monitor?

  • @jraday12 using a samsung 23" LED backlit LCD monitor with 2ms response time

  • BHD music. thumbs up!

  • @caboose365 figured it was appropriate to the game ;)

  • how about at smoky areas?

  • @esdymo smoke slows it down a little on the 480 but not nearly as bad as older video cards did in previous games.

  • Can you maybe take some HD pics of fences maybe anything with rigid edges so i can see on how there features work with that kind of stuff

  • @ShinyMetalProduction sure i'll take some screens and reply to you

  • Incredible video, I loved it!

I just have one question for you, will the GTX 480 run smoothly and perfectly with an intel Core i7 920 2.66 GHz (8MB cache) Quad-Core processor and 3GB of DDR3 1333MHz of RAM?

Because I'm trying to buy an Alienware Aurora with the GTX 480 in it, so I don't want any bottlenecking problems :)

  • @Robelstran It will run nice. however... i'd recommend at least 4-6gb of ram and giving that i7 a mild overclock to around 3.2ghz once you get it. Either way im sure you'll be happy with that machine : )

  • @ereetos Okay! Thanks a ton for the info!

Could you maybe post other videos of diferent games, if you have any? For the sake of performance, of course ;) That would be very helpful!

    Happy gaming ;D

  • @Robelstran You're an idiot, Alienware is overpriced out the asshole. Have a look at Digital Storm, they're still expensive when compared to the price you could build the systems yourself but the Testing Standards and Pre-Overclock they do for you is a major plus.

Keep in mind nothing will be cheaper then building your own which isn't difficult.

  • nice gameplay, nice card ,nice system.

  • Man, I am running my GTX 480 on a 26 inch HDTV. My problem is to fit the screen (when everything visible) I have to run on 1176x664. If I run on 1360x768 or 1920x1080, the screen wont fit the TV. Any help please ToT

  • @Whallean88 with regards to the 26inch hdtv, are you sure it supports 1080p res? sounds like you're being limited around the 720p resolution...

  • @ereetos it supports 1080i

  • @Whallean88 Maybe there's a button you can press on the remote that would change the aspect ratio to make it fit on the screen...I know that my HDTV has a button labeled as P.SIZE .... and that changes the aspec ratio and or zoom. If not on the remote, maybe in the menu.

  • @NetGenReviews No there is not

  • You must have a kick-ass job, dude. :o

I'm only 15, had to settle with building a computer for 600 dollars. ._.

I have to run this on dx9 on high settings and stick around 60fps. :/

  • @Dragoru when i was 15, i had no money and was building 100mhz overclocked 486 computers from parts i dug out of dumpsters and things i got from businesses throwing away parts :)

  • @ereetos Ah, how computer hardware and software has evolved over the years...

    I remember my first computer....Windows 98 machine...Been a long time so I can't remember the specs...

But I loved playing games on it....

  • @Dragoru indeed :)

  • @ereetos When I turn 16 I plan to get a job and make a better computer than the one I have now. :D

  • show me ur 1080p resu / got no idea why u showing here low resu/ lame?i want to know how much power this card have. on my channel u find more than 1000 vids with 1080p and recorded with 285gtx xfx and it looks much better than this here.

  • @einhalb , and ps: dont tell me its 1080p, its not. u renderd the video down and u lost some quality. again , show origin 1080 quality, im interested in this...nothing else.thx

  • I got one too but have not had a chance to use it yet

  • @Whallean88 put it in! :)

  • @ereetos I am building a new desktop. I have to wait for all the parts to come on monday. And hopefully they are not DOA or just working for a while. :(

  • @Whallean88 sweet! i love building new machines and seeing how they overclock :)

  • @ereetos I am not a overlocking person and actually not sure how to do it. People told me that overlocking will reduce your computer life.

  • @Whallean88 it will shorted the lifespan of the part a little yeah. but if you look at how long CPUs can last (10+ years easy), overclocking may shorten that a few years. you will most likely upgrade that part before it ever dies. the key is just proper cooling :)

  • @ereetos I am not good at those. SO if I want to overlock my core i7 930 to 4.00 ghz, what cooler should I get? as well as the GTX 480?

  • @Whallean88 For i7, i would get the Noctua coolers. They are very big and don't fit in all cases but they perform extremely well. I would also get either a GTX480 or Radeon 5870 depending on whether you like Nvidia or ATI more since they perform very similar :)
