yeah look into a analog delay. the line six digitalness sounds ay too sharp. the mxr carbon copy is way warmer. way better

@guitarwizvdh - yeah bro - in the past months I kicked out the POD from my rig and use only analog components (except the reverb from g-major). My delay is an Electro Harmonix deluxe memory man (analog delay) :)

TOO MUCH GAIN i used to do the same thing. it thought that dual rectifiers and emg's were the way to go. u will find tht harmonics and tone will sound beter if u turn down the gain a little bit. i use a marshall jcm 2000 tsl combo with the gain at 1 o' clock with a mxr zakk wylde over drive, and a mxr carbon copy delay in the effects loop and i think it the best sounding setup ive ever heard. try it out u might be surprized

have you ever tried running your Engl pre in the effects loop of the pod with all the amp and cab modeling turned off? Heard about it the other day, gonna try it with a different pre amp tonight.. You can program the pod to have the effects loop on one one channel and off on another. I like the pod for clean stuff a lot but not as much for distortion.

I am doing this exact thing in my loner vid (main lessons learned is that I needed an ebtech linelevelshifter between the line6 and Engl preamp to avoid hum). In the meantime I kicked the line6 out as the complexity is gigantic and I need only 4-8 presets mainly. I will use analog stuff with a switching system in the future.

@AerialBeda the POD can do a very good job alone and the tone is really a bit strange, but at the same time it's not easy to get a good representation of a live tone with a camera microphone. First thing I noticed was the reverb, despite some other comment I thought it wasn't enough at least in the beginning.

I don't get it, you said the single coils were creating a hum, so why didn't you set the pick up toggle to the bridge and middle to cancel it.

Is it because that strat only has a 3-way toggle?

@OfficialHollow - no it's a 5 way switch on the strat and it's get's better when you do that but it doesn't go away. For eddies sound you really need the bridge pickup (only the bridge - eddie used a strat with a humbucker at the bridge) and with the humbckers from the JEM it's nice sonding and no hum -> quiet.

@sxephlI - check the description for the settings. Otherwise I reccomend using Line6's tonelibrary as a starting point (eg. to search for g&r sounds) for further tweaking according to your own taste.
