It's just speculation, but I don't think they have a problem with each other, just each are pretty much doing their own version of the same thing. Sorta like the Metallica/Megadeth thing, whatever, if any, animosity is probably long gone. According to Wikipedia, Joel may regret stepping down, but there's no overt mention of friction between him and Mike.
I like them both. They're all doing good stuff. Creativity would be crushed with more people in either group. I can't imagine there are any real issues.
I agree. I pretty much enjoy either Mike or Joel, to tell you the truth, I didn't know there were so MANY MST3K's out there... If anything, I find Crow's voice change more distracting. ;-)
I was a big fan of Joel back in the MST3K days. But Mike seems to have really run with Rifftrax along with Kevin and Bill. Would you guys say that Cinematic Titanic is better?
@rahpahteetah I'd say it's equally funny, but different. RiffTrax focuses on well-known properties, but CT sticks with the "bad B movie" approach of MST. Personally i really enjoy seeing both modern, big-budget movies *and* old B movies get riffed on, so I don't have a preference between the two "shows". I will say this -- you won't find yourself desperately missing Mike and the guys behind Tom and Crow when you watch CT; the CT crew can hold their own, even though Mike and co. are great too.
just saw ct live in Seattle! it was absoluitly wonderful. for the first time in my life i laughed at josh. he was far and away the best. if you ever get the chance to see them live, do so.
Nope, I don't mean Joel, I mean Josh Weinstein (J. Elvis Weinstein). He was the original Tom Servo, and DR. Laurence Erhardt on MST3K. He is top left on Cinematic Titanic.
I'm so glad these guys are back. I hope they make it to Birmingham!

Do Joel and Mike have some sorta problem working together these days or was it just coincidence that they do their thing seperately

They did a lot of shows. It's interesting to see the evolution.
Rifftrax offers a movie with riffing you can download. Planet of Dinosaurs. HIGHLY recommended. LUCAS!!!!

I just saw them in Philadelphia and Josh was HILARIOUS. Seeing it live makes it a million times more fun.
