This music remainds me of my childhood back home in Benin City, Nigeria.
A neighbour of ours next door, used to play it back in the 70s, i can still remember how i will always stay around his window anytime i hear him played it then.
Without any knowledge of what Victor sings about cos I don`t understand the language, I fell for his songs as early as when I was in primary school. My dad is his big fan, though he also does not understand the language... funny huh? This song is bringing back memories as old as 18 years. Wow! Thanks for this upload!!!
This is probably Victor Uwaifo`s best track! I was still in the university back home when it was released. The instrumentation is a masterpiece, especially the flute played by Victor himself. I think the actual name of this track is Ekassa 27. It is just one of the Ekassa series, even though here it is referred to just as Ekassa on U-tube. However,it is 10 times "smoother" on vinyl/tape than as recorded here on U-tube. Finally,"kunwa-kunwa" means cloth in Edo language. Thank you.
Love this song. Don't understand Bini Language. Loved it in high school. Go Bendel State! Long Live King omo na bo ukwu apolopolo Erediuwa Solomon Akenzua. Long Live Benin Kingdom and Umu Eze chime clan.
its like 3.00am brazilliian time and am just here listening to this ,first of all let me thank honourable sir victor ,for all his beautiful work,am 35 but this song takes me back to when i was youmknow 10 remembereing uncles, aunts, cousins, dad, mum, bros, sist infact the whole family with that kind of tears thank God for everything life goes on,than sir vic may all that have gone rest in peace and all tht are still alive have a long life, peeeeaaaacceee obaghatookprre.
I'm watching from Hawaii and don't know what Sir Victor is singing but I am uplifted. The flute is gorgeous! Long life and peace to all of you, thank you for the greatest music on planet Earth!
