  • Thank God this is fake, cause these questions are a waste of this man's time.

  • Unfunny lady, here's your cup of STFU. Shame on you.

  • She is trying to be funny????? I yi yi ..... "new line of work" is the thought that occurs to me!

  • minx is one hot lady

  • derp.

  • LMAO!!!!!! I Love this guy

  • I love her face at 2:00.

  • Dude why are we mocking Aubrey de Grey?

He is without a doubt. One of the most important people living today.

  • how this bitch acts makes me want to scissor kick her in the face

  • jeez, I still laugh at this vid, Minx is, a Minx!

  • ,......she better be sucking him after the interview and then have a giant rejection form aubrey whos sais he is married and would nvr do a bitch like her

  • The woman pisses me off. Incredibly fake and stupid.

  • I sincerely hope that he never shaves that beard. EVER.

  • I can't help but thinking that this woman looks like a dude.

  • People, this is FAKE.

    FAKE!!!

I know Aubrey de Grey personally. He told me the questions were innocent when he was present.

    She re-filmed the questions alone.

Notice that she NEVER asks him a question with the camera centered on the two of them.

Believe me, I know Aubrey de Grey. He would at least laugh and make jokes with the woman. This interview gives the false impression of what he is like.

    Utter fail. Funny, but FAIL.

Shame on you, Madeline Minx. For that face of yours, I mean. GOD!

  • @JPVeigaaaa I only know Aubrey from reading his books and watching his videos; and I still came to the same conclusion that she changed things up in post-production. Not sure I appreciate her approach. But if her audience likes it, more power to her.

  • @JPVeigaaaa What is Aubrey de Grey going to do to help me live to be 150?

  • @redcomic619 No. But he can always teach you a thing or two about grammar. Specifically, correct punctuation.

  • @JPVeigaaaa No isn't an answer to my question. I asked what he is going to do to HELP me live LONGER.

I would welcome a grammar lesson as well, I seem to be putting a few too many commas in my sentences lately.

  • @redcomic619 To answer your question, he has stated seven major causes of aging (there are others, but these are the main ones). The seven he usually talks about are:

    1. Nuclear mutations

    2. Mitochondrial mutations

    3. Intracellular junk

    4. Extracellular junk

    5. Cell loss and atrophy

    6. Cell senescence

    7. Extracellular crosslinks

He also has a fair idea of how each of these might be reversed; the main problems are technical. If we can eliminate all seven, we've largely solved it.

  • @ianmathwiz7 From what I remember, he didn't say that there were also some other minor causes. He said there were only seven.

  • @xXvolhvXx From what I remember, he's said seven major causes, implying that there might be others. In any case, I sincerely doubt that he claims that once we get rid of those seven, we've solved it completely. We might've, but we don't know that yet.

  • @ianmathwiz7 Senescence is yet almost as unknown as the depths of the oceans. Some experts are still disputing what senesence is to begin with. I think that before trying to cure it, we first have to find out more about it, do plenty of research. I suppose that a few good topics to turn attention to are biologically immortal species, progeria and aging-associated diseases.

  • @JPVeigaaaa

it's a comedy so your angst is really out of place--he seems fine to me in this, but she is rather unfunny lol!

  • @JPVeigaaaa I was wondering why he never laughed.

  • Hideous woman.

  • Whoever spliced this video must have really taken alot of time doing so. Props to the editor!

  • This really is a great video!! Made me laugh out loud!

  • If women live long enough they could potentially grow beards

  • Comment removed

  • I don't know who she is, but she seems to be living in a novel by Bret Easton Ellis. At least the-upgrading-the-bicurious-pool boy-talk.

  • Lolol not a real interview but funny =)

  • if i was him. I kick this girl ass... SHE AnGRY ME ALOT

  • Even if Aubrey does forestall aging and help humanity live indefinitely we will all know love and remember him for is Brilliant Beard! :-)

  • she is a seriously hot lady!

  • she is just another know it all who is mocking the sort of thinking that will change the world. who gives a sh*t about a long beard?

  • Those revolutionary 300 year olds. They just dont know life.

  • what about fido?

  • "And I would like...a beard."

    "....too bad."

  • He does not seem amused.

  • its a shame his knowledge will be deteriorated by the consumption of a beer. smart choice old man!

  • He got that evil scientist glare in his eyes. Like a super genious but with evil plans >=)

  • flirt with deceased women scientists, they will come back if you promise them a good time

  • I like David Blaine :(

Or however you spell his last name

  • Great

  • he has to be Jesus Christ.

  • I hate that woman witha passion....

Aurbrey de Gray is a LEGEND

  • Only the wealthy and politicians like Dick Cheney will be able to afford this.

  • PPL GROW YOUR BEARDS its the secret to immortality, look at Fidel Castro...Bin Laden

I don't know if it will work with Aubrey de Grey too, but at least beer has no effect on him, as he drinks it from early in the morning all day long, and he's never drunk

  • That woman is a cunt

  • that woman needs to get laid

  • Madeline Minx is funny as hell

  • lady should be knocked out

  • "your probability of dying would not rise as you get older" ..incredible

  • LOL@"For instance, I could get really pissed off with your questions and I could shoot you."

FYI to all you gullible transhumatards: Aubrey is not the first scientist who got incredibly rich by claiming he was going to become 1000 years old. Gerontologist Herman Le Compte did the exact same thing during the 60's, he died at the tender age of 78.

  • @noxure Things have changed a 'little bit' since the 60's :p His claims are a bit bold, and i think 25 years is a bit... soon, but it's possible

  • get a life.... loserville!!!

  • I am so happy that this guy has a sense of humor. I mean, if he does live to be 1,000, then you wouldnt want him to be humorless. Then you'd be in for 1,000 years of pure annoyance. xD

  • Fake and gay. I can tell by the pixels.

  • hahahahahaha

  • she turns me on

  • Madeline Minx. - Fuck off!!!

  • Madeline Minx. - Fuck off!!!

  • she's not funny in the slightest.

  • This is not a "real" interview. Don't even know who that bimbo is.

  • Like for instance I could get really pissed off at your questions and I could shoot you.

    LOL. HE DA MAN

  • I hate the interviewer.

  • this is indeed funny

  • don't control the birthrate. what a limited mindset. terraform and colonize the moon and then mars ! There is too much space for everyone :)

  • @IcarusFlying Controlling the human birth rate will soon become necessary regardless of anti-aging research. Your suggestion is unrealistic.

  • @IcarusFlying no dude... we need to control the birth rate... we can't have octomoms living forever and having hundreds of kids...

  • You must be mad to live in this crazy society for any longer than 70 years. It's chaotic, our politicians brainwash us as well as lie to us. Big coporations decide, "Hey, let's dig a FUCKEN hole in the middle of the ocean with no thoughts or back up plans what so ever, and if there's any trouble we'll pay our way out and get people's ideas to stop the problem." They don't give a rusty fuck about our environment or our future. That is why this world is corrupt.

  • @oshyria This is because many people are too young and ignorant, therefore really easy to deceive. Older people don't react better, they may be more experienced but the've lost their motivation after realizing they're not taken into account any more, so they're not willing to sacrifice themselves to help other people without being acknowledged. Eventually their health will deteriorate and many of them will become demented so they won't be able to do anything good in any case.

  • This video isn't funny at all, as is the lady interviewing de Grey.

  • douche nozz

  • Not a real interview.

  • Her interview style is intended to be humorous, but it is a real interview. She's done a few others like this.

  • Fake interview is fake.

  • @cloakster How do you know, have you seen the original?

  • Rasputin lives!!!!! They didn't kill him- he's indestructible!

  • y dont we just have humans on opther planets

theres more land than we can explore in spacew, mars soem of jupitersa moons

  • yeah jupiters moons are cool but we have so many moons to choose from! neptune's, saturns, mars...etc lots! omg how wonderful is it to have been born now!

  • also this man is so cute! I love his stare and his attitude!

  • @soyyoprqgnt8811 You don't get out much do you

  • @Kostly lol Yes I actually do. I love his ideas is really what I mean and humor(attitude).

  • @ovandocarter YEAH!!! Lets go destroy other planetary systems. We've got a few here we might be able to really put the screws to. WE LOVE fucking up planets!! Long live humans forEVER!! We are the greatest humans to ever live!

  • 2:44

    What?

  • That man has a magnificent beard.

  • no way that was real. it was, however, absolutely fucking retarded

  • hahahah I never expected his laugh to sound like that

  • Didn't seem like a real interview... seems like she took snippets of one of his real interviews, and reverse-engineered her questions/reactions to them.

    Still sorta funny though. Sorta.

  • It was a real interview. I'm sure she edited some things down. The thing I love about it is how he answers the questions and quickly adjusts to her interview style, trying not to show his anger. When I met Aubrey I said, "You seem very intelligent," and he responded casually, "I am, I am." Well, he is, he is.

  • I am still uncertain about it being a real interview, unless you have some proof or link?

Again, it was okay, but not-quite-hilarious.

  • WTF??? where the fucking hell did u find this??

  • @stancruse you met aubrey? How? When? Where?

  • roflcakes

  • aubrey de Grey's beard is the secret of his powers

  • Well, he really has a PHD, not in biology, thu.

And he really did work at Cambridge, as a computer tech. And he really is collecting money..

  • I can't speak to Aubrey de Grey's financial motives. One thing to keep in mind is that there are many roads to becoming an expert. Yes, Aubrey has a background in computer technologies. Sometimes it takes an outsider to revolutionize an industry. He is by no means considered to be an outsider anymore.

  • Well, true. But one of the most effective way of becoming an expert in biology is to study that subject at the masters/PHD level.

Sometimes is does take an outsider, but more often, a person with the appropriate background does the best job.

  • Wrong. His Phd is in gerontology(a branch of biology connected with aging), for having come up with the 'mitochondrial free radical theory of aging'. Am I going to have to correct you one conjecture at a time? That'll take a decade at this rate.

  • Hopefully you'll live that long. ;)

  • @stancruse is this guy a genius?

  • @stancruse @stevekap8: It should also be noted that de Grey's Ph.D was honorary. There's a big difference between defending a Ph.D thesis and being awarded the degree and receiving it gratis from an institution. This comment isn't intended as an ad hominem -- what should seriously be considered are his ideas, not his credentials. Nevertheless, I felt I had to point out this small fact.

  • Wrong. His Phd is in gerontology(a branch of biology connected with aging), for having come up with the 'mitochondrial free radical theory of aging'. Am I going to have to correct you one conjecture at a time? That'll take a decade at this rate.

  • @stevekap8

I think the key question is: Has be had any of his articles published in prestigious biology journals?

If so - then he is imo. qualified.

  • @deram

Well, yes, its important that he has published articles. There is the small matter or what the articles say...

  • @stevekap8 I know what you mean - but actually not (so much). It seems you more or less assume publishing articles in the best journos is like posting a vid on YT. It is NOT. In order for him to have any article published there he would need to go through a VERY ardious process that usually takes years and he would have to convince some of the biggest experts in the world that the study is interesting, and has all kinds of merit. So IF he has published there... then we can talk.

  • @deram,, Well, as it happens, while getting my Master, I reviewed published and unpublished papers, and was involved in getting a paper published (thu not mine). Yes, its a hard produces. Yes, there is much peer review. But, when a paper is published, thats when the real fun begains. I found a signifcated math/logic error in a published experimental pyschology paper, and concacted the author, that printed a revision.

Published DOES means something, granted. But its not the be all, end all.

  • @deram

And,,, as I said orginally, there IS the matter of WHAT THE PAPER SAYS!

Creationists, for example, have published papers. Now, they will CLAIM said papers support all sorts of weird ideas. But they seem to be the only ones that think that. Others, the people that reviewed the paper, for example, will see the merit in the paper, but would hotly disagree with the UNPUBLISHED conclution that the author took from his PUBLISHED paper. See what I mean? It matters what the things says.

  • @stevekap8 I see your poinjt. However, I still don't think the problem is what the papers say, but rather how they are interpreted later. This interpretation may be unwarranted - as it seems to be in the examples you list.

  • @stevekap8 His is PhD is in biology, but it is an honorary PhD. It was granted for him because of his book on the effect of free radicals, which is still a great achievement in biology.

  • @stevekap8 His PhD is from University of Cambridge (year 2000) and his thesis was The Mitochondrial Free Radical Theory of Aging --true he didn't have formal "wetlab"/ bench training as part of his PhD, but he nevertheless is a very knowledgeable and innovative biologist. From 1992 to 2006 he worked in software development for the Univ. of Cambridge Genetics Department. Now he is CSO of SENS Foundation. With regard to your pointless insinuation: WHO DOESN'T "COLLECT MONEY"? YOU?

  • aubrey is for real yes

  • Was this real I can't tell?
