I had the pleasure of seeing the Jefferson Starship with Cathy Richardson at the Cleveland House of Blues in 2008. She did a superb job covering such gems as 'Fast Buck Freddie' and 'Eskimo Blue Day' and conveyed a piercing, solo rendition of the folk classic 'I Ain't Marching Anymore'. I agree she isn't a Grace Slick, but conversely, Grace Slick wasn't a Cathy Richardson.

The Jefferson Starships' new female lead is Chicago based Cathy Richardson, who has a successful career of her own and a strong following. She does an excellent job covering some very difficult vocals particularly with Airplane tunes . She is not Grace Slick, but then again, who else is?
