@Inqway I agree, he killed a few more then that and really, if you slash a man and he falls down, the chances of him getting back up when there are so many people running around with swords, is pretty low.
Ahhh the glory days when Mel was still socially acceptable. Still love his work, but think the man is in need of serious help. Doesn't change the fact that this movie kicks arse. Or hacks, chops, crushes, slices and dices arse.
I really don't care about what the press is saying about Mel now, have to much respect for this guy because of his classic films. Braveheart, Ransom, The Patriot, Lethal Weapons, Payback,We Were Soldiers, The Passion of the Christ, Apocalypto, and Mad Max. I mean how can someone hate this guy after all these epic films he acted and directed in. He puts effort in his work, and thats admirable enough.
if i could go back in time, and help wallace, i'd go back in a f-20 tigershark and load it with enough firepower to bring longshanks to his knees and make him kiss walaces ass!
Sir William, like spartacus, nearly wiped out the british army, i had read that wallace had up to 330,000 men at falkirk, and, 112,000+ at sterling bridge, england lost over 2 million soldiers to wallace from 1298-1301, spartacus had a total of 640,000 men at siler river where he was defeated by the roman legions, only 26,000 survived 3,000 were crucified along the apain way alive. rome was nearly wiped out by spartacus leaving only 10,000 men to defend rome
@34D2234 such bs 'england lost over 2 million soldiers' lmao. There were barely 6 million people living in england and that was pre plague, you are incinuating he wiped out a 3rd of the english population.
Not sure he should get credit for the guy who went through the thatched roof. If you assume he died, then Mel should get credit for the king's nephew (the head in the basket), cuz he died FER SHURE.. Just sayin.
number 5 wasnt a kill, he landed on hay and he chopped of a guys leg because in those times losing a leg meant fatal blood loss and he chopped a guys a head off and threw it on a dinner table so final tally=39 kills for Mel Gibson
39 u missed the second guy in they fort 42 u missed the two guys he killed in tht battle withh the horse riders that chased down those group of scots to a corner where he thru a rock at the commanders head then had the battle and the nobles
The title says Bravehart kill count not Gibson kill count so if you go by the title then the Head droped on the table counts and if you go by the title then his wife getting killed would count
You forgot about that other noble that betrays him at Falkirk. He dropped his head on the table the Bruce was eating at. =] But all in all, good stuff.
Why do British ppl hate this film so much? So the bad guys are British, but hey its only a movie.
If ppl are hating films for what they are, I'd expect thousands of Japanese ppl hating Bruce Lee's Fist of Fury for showing the atrocities of Japs against Chinese... lol
This movie is pure Hollywood with a few historical scenes & battles recreated.
Overall, the acting & battle scenes are great so yeah you're right, it's underrated. Plus, it was by the same person who wrote SAVING PRIVATE RYAN which was very accurate
he would fucking die of blood loss, beside the fact that the scotts won so he would have been executed and even if he had crawled away there was no medicine around then that had any hope of saving him.
@AllOuttabubbleGum tbh I'd consider that more likely to be lethal than that archer he drops off the tower near the start of the movie, who would be more likely to recover with some bruises and possibly broken bones. A serious wound like a leg being chopped off in the conditions it happened, with period knowledge of field surgery (and the improbability of immediate help) would pretty much be a death spell
@AllOuttabubbleGum well anyone could decifer that when you get both your legs chopped off you will bleed to death, most likely within the minute. So its a kill.
@AllOuttabubbleGum well anyone could decifer that when you get both your legs chopped off you will bleed to death, most likely within the minute. So its a kill. even if it was only one(i cant rmemeber) youll still bleed to death.
@AllOuttabubbleGum I would have counted that as a kill, considering he would have bled to death in about 3 seconds. But realizing that this is not a scientific/historical documentary, I'll let it slide.
@AllOuttabubbleGum getting your leg chopped off back then pretty much meant certain death (specially on a battlefield with no medical help anywhere near)
