  • If I ever get it done anytime soon I would love to ship it to London so I could ride it to the Ace Cafe! I've always loved the UK affinity for the Cafe Racer and that it is finally starting to catch on over here in the US! I love all makes and models of Cafer Racers and enjoy seeing what people can create, my favorite frame is the Norton Featherbed, and I'd love to stuff a H-D Sportster engine in one! I love V-Twins and my favorite has always been the Vincent Black Shadow! Cafe Racers FTW!!! =D

  • I'm working on my '75 Ironhead and making it into a Cafe Racer, but even though I love the vintage Cafe Racers, I'm going to build mine more of a total custom modified Cafe Racer! I believe if you use a few key parts you have a Cafe Racer, stuff like the bobbed rear tail section, rear-set controls, clip-on handlebars, large Norton styled fuel tank, etc.! It'll have modern billet wheels, flashy metal flake paint and racing numbers, custom parts, I'm putting my own style on it! Cafe Racers RULE!!!

  • beautiful job i've a '79 ironhead that i was going to build a xlcr replica with but seeing this has changed my mind . any ideas who made the tank or seat unit?

  • @stevecmore Thanks.... I hope your project goes well. The tank and seat pan were second hand and picked up on Ebay (took me a long time to find the right ones....) and both required light modifications to achieve perfect fit. I had the front mud guard custom made by a company called "The Tank Shop" up in Scotland. I know they also make a very similar looking seat pan as mine, and in fact I would not be surprised if they actually made it in the first place.

  • @thesilverman68 TANKS for the tip ill look them up !!

  • Awesome work on the Sportster Cafe! I wish Harley would make a new version of the '77-'78 H-D Cafe Racer... not the XR1200 but a real Cafe Racer inspired bike! The XR1200 looks more like the Dirt Tracker bikes but it could be made into a nice Cafe Racer with a little time and money!

  • @RollingArtDesigns Thanks, appreciated. I could not agree more with your sentiments. In fact, this is what initially inspired me to build this one and as far as Harley goes - and what's better than an Ironhead to do just that? I wanted a "raw looking" Cafe Racer, not a factory replica which, in my view, will never achieve the real Cafe Racer look and keep a reasonable retail price at the same time. This raises the question - what is the Cafe Racer look?

  • What the freak?!!!! It even fires right up?!!! What kind of magic did you do?!!! Man I LOVE cafe racers with v-twin engine in it. I dream is to make a cafe racer with a sportster...

    AWESOME JOB!!!!

  • this bike is very pretty. did you have to do many frame mods?

  • @fitztheviking Thanks for your positive comment. No mods to the frame except for two little holes to the back section so that the seat pan can be bolted on. The idea was always to have the flexibility to convert the bike back to stock reasonably quickly. Cheers

  • @thesilverman68 ha awesome. thats a weekend choice i wish i had to make. Cafe racer or cruiser mmmmm. nice details on the rearsets too.

  • Mechanical art!!!

  • Amazing bike...great job. I have always regretted selling my old Ironhead. Now I know why!

  • That is amazing. well done.

  • Hi, Thanks for your positive comment. It's a 1980
