Tabasco can be too mild even for a beginner. This has a good amount of punch to it, can even leave a burning sensation in your mouth for a while.

The company's website has a chart and though it's their hottest it tops at 7000 scovilles.

The original is 2500 to 5000.

(Habañeros can get up to 500,000 units)

(I just ordered some of the Family Reserve 2011 edition and will test it against these.)

That stuff is certainly not that hot. It tastes good, a little sweet and fruity so not the best with some foods (I like the standard good ol' tobasco sauce for almost everything) but it is not bad at all. I would call it a "warm" hot sauce. Pretty surprised you took a whole spoonful tho.

The original Tabasco sauce is a little spicy but not too much. I certainly over-estimated it's spicy-ness when I first tried it. Of couse, try in moderation!

Tabasco's website say it's only 7,000 scoville units, but it has habaneros which are in the 100,000-200,000 so yeah it doesn't make sense.

I love this sauce. Just got it today and put it on some pizza. I have Blair's Pure and Golden Death and also Mad Dog 357 Pure Ghost Pepper sauces, but neither of those are really good for pizza IMO. Wanted something that was a bit more runny so I got this. It defeinitely went for my lips. It's just now wearing off. It also did go for my gums a bit, but I love this.

the pepper is 200,000+ but the sauce doesnt contain that much of it, its my most favorite sauce of all time, ive got daves in the fridge but its too hot for anything really and no taste. but this one is really nice and has just has a slight good hotness.

This is a fantastic sauce, really nice flavor! I've had this replaced on a couple sushi dishes that call for regular tabasco - quail egg shooter and shrimp boat.

I sprinkle this sauce on almost all the food i eat. Works with everything tbh. Starting to build up too much immunity to it though. I got a bottle of Insanity sauce in the fridge but its way to hot to sprinkle on food. I use it in stews mostly. What do u recommend as the "next step" after Tabasco Habanero sauce to use "out of the box"?

I cant take spicy well. Original Tabasco does me good. But I still love hot sauce for some reason. I recently tried the 357 mad dog ghost pepper hot sauce and it was a ride for me. This hot sauce seems interesting though.

i think reg tabasco is 5k scoville, and hab tabasco is only 8k. they must not use a lot of habanero in it, you can tell from eating a fresh hab.

You should get the larger size bottles. They have a plastic limiter cap as a dropper that you can pry off and pour it.

You were right about the bloody mary. I was in the supermarket and was gonna pick up the regular and i noticed the habanero flavor. Never knew they made that and said fuck it! I was happy I picked it up because usually Tabasco is weak, but this has great heat with flavor. Just can't put too much in the bloody mary.

just purchased a bottle on the strength of this vid.

yup, a real sweetish tomato'ish flavour, and not too heavy on the hab flav,. but boy was it hot.

it was back of throat hot about 10 seconds in from initial spoon of doom delivery, then gradually moved to the front leaving a lingering lip burn and general mouth burn, but not uncomfortably so, and the flavour was strong through out.
