I have been a RB follower, and I recently bought GHWT for a try. I returned it within the first week. It was terrible! There were only two songs on it that weren't in Rock Band 2 and I liked (Crazy Train and Hot For Teacher). I never actually performed once - just did everything in practice mode, and there are no songs that you want to play anything but guitar on. Very disappointing game, and they should have stuck to guitars only.

I can't really say, 'cause for me that's hard to point out, but in RB2 you can see that some parts go a larger range of frets while GHWT sometimes repeats the same fret, back, and forth. And after the solo; GHWT charts the after-notes, while Harmonix doesn't. After that, the verse is charted differentky, but then goes two verses similar, with a blue single and a double-split after. This is where things go different. They both chart it differently, but at 2:17, ... -->
<-- ...Neversoft changes the doublt-split notes to a green-yellow, and Harmonix takes it with a green-blue split. Another pre-verse note; GHWT keeps up the pattern one more time, but Harmonix changes it one fret over to pull on to the next verse. Another thing about the chorus; RB2 uses one-strum, double-split notes after the hold notes, while GHWT literally uses hold-strum, triple-split notes.
In the beginning, the charts are made so its like looking at opposites; they make it so the frets are moved two over to the left or right, depending which game your considering. the orange note is the significant fret that they both play. Once the vocals start, Neversoft changes the fret, while Harmonix simply adds another for the double notes. The double notes and the single note difference keeps up until "Just try your best," where Neversoft switches to double notes and Harmonix comes... -->
<-- ...back to single notes. Only one verse, though, when GHWT comes to triple-hold notes, and RB2 uses double-hold notes, with 2 frets in between them. At the end of that, though, there's a quick difference: GHWT uses a double-split hold note, and RB2 uses a singe-hold note. There they change frets again, but GHWT still keeps up the triple-hold notes and RB2 does as well. Another quick difference, then Harmonix and Neversoft continue there charade two more times.
After that, they both have green-red double notes, but then part ways and GHWT uses double notes while RB2 does double-split notes. After that, they have one verse where its both red-yellow frets and then goes back to green-red. Then they diffrentiate by RB2 using blue singles and GHWT taking double-split notes.
When Harmonix did Rock Band they did bring a higher quality to real life simulation to a real band when they started off by bringing a full band in. That's when Red Octane realized that was their idea for the next guitar hero since this happened around the time guitar hero 3 came out. That's when Guitar Hero World Tour was different by adding the full band and a drum set that's a little more realistic feel.
Either Way I still play both, cause both have songs that the other doesn't that I like.
i play real guitar a little bit and i think rb 2 is more realistic to actual notes and strumming gh abuses the multiple notes way to much either way both are great gotta give it up to gh they origanated it all
guitar hero is actully alot harder then rock band ,guitar hero is for the more skilled players and rock band is for the beginers.thats y the drums on the rock band are straight across and the drums for guitar hero are difficult it has sybols.and the rock band songs are alot easier to ;play.i also figured out that people that play rockband cant play guitar hero my friend cant because its to fast and to many colors at once and the drums are to hard
While the guitar part is more difficult, the rest suck in difficulty because:
A. They have more unbeatable Bass song on RB2 than WT at my level
B. I've beaten every song on Hard Drums on WT but not even half of RB2
C. While the vocals are immpossible to perfect on WT, they are more forgiving and gental (SP on every phrase and a continued streak even on Solid rankings).
In fact, there are nearly 6 songs not FC'd on RB's drums while every WT song on drums have been FC'd.

GH version has a shitty intro, I've always thought that it should have been lower (button wise), RockBand done it right. GH solo is much better though and also did the chords in the verse which is more accurate to the sound. Find this is the case with most of these.. If only you could mix them together (legally...)

well, i grew up on guitar hero.
when rb came out, i was thinking about it, and i realized how great of a feel it was.
then came ghwt, with an improved drumset and other cool new stuff
wtf, i couldn't decide.
sure, i asked for ghwt for my wii this christmas, and it's really fun.
but in my opinion, i believe it doesn't matter. both games have an amazing setlist, and are fun to play by yourself or with friends.

but here's another fun fact, which i'm not totally sure about: i think it was neversoft/activision that said they were planning on making a band game, and it was said BEFORE rock band came out.
oh well, what matters is that both games are here now.

rockband is more accurate along with adds in extra strumming that you would normally do on a real guitar =o guitar hero is just a start, but rockband is harmonix's way of saying get ready to really rock

It's funny that I decide to give a crap. But how many people notice here that the creators of Rock Band are the SAME creators of Guitar Hero?
Harmonix, you dumbasses.
They first started the idea of the Full Band. Guitar Hero, who was then sold off to Activision, had to *COPY* them in order to keep up.
Do your research, idiots.
And the easier/harder thing with Rock Band and Guitar Hero doesn't make much of a difference. Rock band tends to be more *accurate*, Guitar Hero more *over-charted*.

ur half wrong about Harmonix. Yes, they made Guitar Hero. they made Guitar Hero 1, 2, and Rock the 80's. They broke away when Guitar Hero 3 was being made, there for they were replaced by activision. i think

Harmonix wasn't replaced, they sold their rights for Guitar Hero to Activision. It's after that that they created Rock Band, with the Full Band experience and stuff. Guitar Hero World Tour had to copy their idea of a full band to keep up with them. Key word *copy*.

...back to the solo. I can't really say, 'cause for me that's hard to point out, but in RB2 you can see that some parts go a larger range of frets while GHWT sometimes repeats the same fret, back, and forth. And after the solo; GHWT charts the after-notes, while Harmonix doesn't. After that, the verse is charted differentky, but then goes two verses similar, with a blue single and a double-split after. This is where things go different. They both chart it differently, but at 2:17, ... -->

In the beginning, the charts are made so its like looking at opposites; they make it so the frets are moved two over to the left or right, depending which game your considering. the orange note is the significant fret that they both play. Once the vocals start, Neversoft changes the fret, while Harmonix simply adds another for the double notes. The double notes and the single note difference keeps up until "Just try your best," where Neversoft switches to double notes and Harmonix comes... -->

After that, they have one verse where its both red-yellow frets and then goes back to green-red. Then they diffrentiate by RB2 using blue singles and GHWT taking double-split notes.

When Harmonix did Rock Band they did bring a higher quality to real life simulation to a real band when they started off by bringing a full band in. That's when Red Octane realized that was their idea for the next guitar hero since this happened around the time guitar hero 3 came out. That's when Guitar Hero World Tour was different by adding the full band and a drum set that's a little more realistic feel.
Either Way I still play both, cause both have songs that the other doesn't that I like.

guitar hero is actully alot harder then rock band ,guitar hero is for the more skilled players and rock band is for the beginers.thats y the drums on the rock band are straight across and the drums for guitar hero are difficult it has sybols.and the rock band songs are alot easier to ;play.i also figured out that people that play rockband cant play guitar hero my friend cant because its to fast and to many colors at once and the drums are to hard

Wrong!
While the guitar part is more difficult, the rest suck in difficulty because:
A. They have more unbeatable Bass song on RB2 than WT at my level
B. I've beaten every song on Hard Drums on WT but not even half of RB2
C. While the vocals are immpossible to perfect on WT, they are more forgiving and gental (SP on every phrase and a continued streak even on Solid rankings).
In fact, there are nearly 6 songs not FC'd on RB's drums while every WT song on drums have been FC'd.

GH version has a shitty intro, I've always thought that it should have been lower (button wise), RockBand done it right. GH solo is much better though and also did the chords in the verse which is more accurate to the sound. Find this is the case with most of these.. If only you could mix them together (legally...)

Actually, the part he talks about at 1:59 IS a synth -- check the music vid. You are correct about the amps though -- it can sound very non-guitarish sometimes.
