Yeah, he did not use FG and NP was not effective (that was apparent after the first engagement). Zerglings were useless and so I think that Idra was slow to tech and had bad unit choices. Maybe some hydras would have provided the dps needed to handle those stalkers better along with the roaches and infestors, at least until he had Broodlords on the way.
@Nyocurio yeah, im a zerg player too, but honestly i think theres a lot more zerg talent worth admiring than idra, spanishiwa is my personal favorite, then theres, sen, destiny even though he can be a dick at times, catz, and even psy but idra, honestly i dont find that much creativity in his builds, to me he's just a guy that got good by playing a lot(sorry if it takes away from his talent), on top of that id like him more if he wasnt such a douche bag. sc needs less of his bm type, imo

It's because their presence on the net isn't as high. Also, disliking a SC player for his attitude is something fanboys do. He's not very creative, or as he said it, "he strives for consistent gameplay", you're correct, this is something I don't like about him either, but his mechanics kinda make up for that. I am not a SC pro player. I have watched enough Pro zerg players to see... that Idra's micro, especially his infestor micro, is complete shit. It's like he wants to completely depend on his usual macro dominance and now that the field is getting more competitive, he is getting frustrated.
@jonsolo32 The only other thing you have to consider is bonus damage from void rays. That and graviton beam/concussive shells would no longer work on them.

@rendros88 That's why you stargate harrass with phoenix + void rays. If he has 4 queens, just add in a few more phoenix to pick them up and completely nullify them.
@rendros88 Is anything free? It works, it's cost efficent, and against a double expanding zerg it almost ALWAYS does damage. Even forcing spores, that's killing a drone + 65 minerals each. But with 1 or 2 voids and a couple phoneix, you can't NOT do damage + you'll force zerg to stray from his planned path because he'll need to react to air, and none of our early units, save queens, are good against air.
i love minigun, not because he beats idra, i like him for his play as well. I think it was the perfect snipe of idras third that gave minigun the advantage he needed. And a zerg equals in bases to toss usually loses or at least is in a disatvantage. Minigun seems to be Idras Kriptonite.

what is bullshit? i never said minigun is the best player, but idra loses often to him on ladder, thats the reason why he hates him, plays worse because of that. This is why say he is his kryptonite - he has lately beaten idra with zerg off-race. And i saw him losing three times in a row on ladder against Chad. I don't know what would happen in a tournament, of course an other thing than ladder. No reason to be that mad and interpreting my statement in such a way.

I think Idra's micro is subpar for a professional gamer. This is one of the reasons why he struggles so much in ZvZ, which is basically all about unit control.

Yeah, Idra is one of the best NA Zergs, but he's not top 10 in the world. NesTea, Losira, July, Leenock, Coca, Sen, and DRG are better then him, significantly. Also Stephano, Darkforce, and a couple other Euro Zergs. He's not admired as much outside of NA. He's got the talent to compete with the best but lacks focus once he gets behind in any match of set. Nowhere near the best Zerg sorry.
@skillz0122 'not as admired' - Korea fucking hates him. Ever since he moved there and did all the BM, they've instituted Kespa rules to shut down on in-game chat and smacktalk. Even the Western commentators over there couldn't stand him. Korean progamers are so much more professional and respectful and he's given Western progamers a bad name.

I do enjoy watching Idra play, but if he would just tone it down on the cursing I would respect him a little more. Note that he is a great player that deserves more credit, but I still hate watching the games where he ragequits.

Psy, you mostly commentate Idra games where he looses, thus its quite predictable to watch these casts, even though the bm is still worth watching. Anyways keep up the good job and maybe also commentate some Idra wins in the future. :)
well i idra def needs to settle down, but i get his frustration. there are some serious balance issues in a PVZ match that favor the protoss. but blizz will probably never fix those things. i guess zerg players just need to settle in for the long haul.
I watched Idra's stream yesterday and I changed my opinion on him. He's just one of the best players I have ever watched. Yes, he has problem with ragequitting, but his micro and macro skills are just phenomenal. And in the games where he doesn't ragequit (most games), his decisions on what to do next are almost always spot-on and perfectly timed.
@jounihat agreed, he's not a bad guy, he is just taking the game (his career) too seriously, but so do I (I hate to lose) so perfectly understandable, for me
@Zolijoker9 He's never been a particularly good progamer either. He was the worst in Korea, was never fielded by his team. Then he made the switch to SC2, so he could get a head start, and already even Western players are overtaking him, even those without Korean progamer training.

And really, his micro was never amazing. He relies on heavy macro builds then A-moving, and has a good grasp on fundamental mechanics. But even looking at his micro here, it's some of the poorest infester control and Minigun ran rings around him.

I think Idra's micro is subpar for a professional gamer. This is one of the reasons why he struggles so much in ZvZ, which is basically all about unit control.
Idra's macro is superb however.

IDra got outplayed once again and rages like a fucking retard. And he's actually fucking bad, just look at this game. There are so many good zerg-players who have evolved their game. Not even counting a bunch of korean zerg-players cause they would just demolish idra. NA doesn't actually have any good Zerg. Ret, Idra, Machine, Destiny and a couple of other guys do pretty ok vs NA players, but in Europe you have Nerchio, Lalush, Dimaga, Stephano etc, just look at this game idra= no macro,no micro

Yeah, Idra is one of the best NA Zergs, but he's not top 10 in the world. NesTea, Losira, July, Leenock, Coca, Sen, and DRG are better then him, significantly. Also Stephano, Darkforce, and a couple other Euro Zergs. He's not admired as much outside of NA. He's got the talent to compete with the best but lacks focus once he gets behind in any match of set. Nowhere near the best Zerg sorry.

Even the Western commentators over there couldn't stand him. Korean progamers are so much more professional and respectful and he's given Western progamers a bad name.

Minigun has a rivalry against IdrA. After a few ladder games were streamed by IdrA (Minigun winning both of them, with plenty of trash talk from both sides), they had a best of 3 against each other in the EG Master’s Cup Season V. Minigun took IdrA out 2-1.

well i idra def needs to settle down, but i get his frustration. there are some serious balance issues in a PVZ match that favor the protoss. but blizz will probably never fix those things. i guess zerg players just need to settle in for the long haul.

I watched Idra's stream yesterday and I changed my opinion on him. He's just one of the best players I have ever watched. Yes, he has problem with ragequitting, but his micro and macro skills are just phenomenal. And in the games where he doesn't ragequit (most games), his decisions on what to do next are almost always spot-on and perfectly timed.

@Zolijoker9 He's never been a particularly good progamer either. He was the worst in Korea, was never fielded by his team. Then he made the switch to SC2, so he could get a head start, and already even Western players are overtaking him, even those without Korean progamer training.
He has a completely shit attitude when he should be playing like a professional. He has no humility and blames his losses on his opponents when he should be blaming his own deficiencies and improving.

@Zolijoker9 Because he's good, he's just not as good as he should be considering his pedigree and how much longer he's been playing the game compared to other progamers. And really, his micro was never amazing. He relies on heavy macro builds then A-moving, and has a good grasp on fundamental mechanics. But even looking at his micro here, it's some of the poorest infester control and Minigun ran rings around him.

I think nobody (with decent sc2 knowledge) would question his skills; I just find it kinda difficult to root for the sc2 equivalent of Kobe Bryant. :D
