p.s. don't let the behavior of other Christians affect and challenge your relationship with the Lord..trust in the Word of God and the Holy Spirit for guidance :)
Being a Christian does not mean you'll be perfect, Christians will keep struggling to turn away from sin but with the help of the Holy Spirit we can endure. We can choose to attend another church if it suits us, but we should not abandon our Christian faith. God bless you and your family :)
Wow, this is why I like youtube so much - you hear stories about everyday life in some places, that don't get into the international news.
What I hear from you in this story, is that in Texas you have to belong to some church ( not to belong to some church is socially "not done", you'll be ostracized). Then, after you have chosen a church, you have to comply with the rules of the majority, or the rules that the clergymen set.
First, you owe me a royalty for using my lyrics. Second, lesbians don't do jazz hands. Third, it seems to me a story that starts with the words "back when I lived in Texas" and involves a church is unlikely to end well. ;-)
First and foremost, it was a pleasure meeting you on FT3161's blogtv session. You are quite the musician and my hat is off to you.
Second, this video is the kind of crap that makes me nuts. If most Christians were "indoctrinated" then our parents did a terrible job teaching us who Jesus Christ was and what He stands for. I would have ran from that church or I would have been the loudest dissenting voice in the place. sorry to rant...
I had a good solid 3 or 4 years of that same way of thought. I'm very glad to know that you're an open minded christian who doesn't hate on people. But I think you and I both know that you are a minority in your faith. If most christians were like you, or like I was for the last few years of my membership, then I don't think anybody would have a problem with christianity. Instead, we have Ann Coulter and women exactly like her, and "reverend" Phelps, and men just like him.
I can imagine the bigots horror. I think people just use religion to excuse their bigoted views, nothing like an upstanding community pastor to back you up.
do you think righteousness is a joke ?

It's funny how local culture and attitudes tend to become encorporated into the religion. But then again, is that not how religion originated?

Yep, religion gives people permission to openly express their bigotry.
