Ramsey was the one who cut in to take the ball of Shawcross, therefore it was Ramsey's tackle. It wasn't a free ball prior to the incident, it was in Stoke's possession. I find it quite amazing that all the arsenal players were bothered about is getting Ryan sent off. And that the only players bothered about Ramsey whilst he was in agony on the floor were stoke players. And Ryan was very unlucky that the tackle caused that injury, without the injury it wouldn't have even been yellow. And if you watch other videos you will see that Bendtner pulled Ryan back just before he went in for the tackle which could have made all the difference.

It was a horrible mistimed tackle but if there wasn't any injuries he would only have gotten a yellow. And you can't really say he's a dirty player seeing as that was his first ever red card. They say it's a "dangerous tackle" but Shawcross wasn't making a tackle at the time, Ramsey was. Shawcross clearly had the ball in his possession prior to the incident so no one can say that he made a tackle for the ball. Ramsey was the one who cut in to take the ball of Shawcross, therefore it was Ramsey's tackle. It wasn't a free ball prior to the incident, it was in Stoke's possession. Say what you will about Shawcross' intent after Ramsey took the ball but there's no denying who tackled who.

I find it quite amazing that all the arsenal players were bothered about is getting Ryan sent off. This pundit and most of these comments are so wrong it is clearly a 50/50 ball and in the CONTACT sport of football accidents will happen. Still a great shame for such a talented young player to have a break so early in his career =(

honestly I can't see what Shawcross does wrong, he went for the ball, but missed it. This to me is just one of those things that happens in football, it's a battle for the ball that went horribly wrong. In English football you get stuck in. Had a player from the team i support NOT made that tackle(battle for the ball) he would have been met with all sorts of abuse.

It was a horrible mistimed tackle but if there wasn't any injuries he would only have gotten a yellow. And you can't really say he's a dirty player seeing as that was his first ever red card. If he really was as bad as everybody was making out, then surely he wouldn't have been crying after? He didn't go in with two feet or his studs up but if he didn't get sent off he probably would have been killed so it was probably for the best.
