Thank you kindly for watching and commenting....'specially since it was a nice one! ;-) The song remains such a haunting, plaintive and somehow joyous hymn to home.
What a great post!!!! One of the best albums and songs of all times! And Hickory Wind is special to me because I was born, raised, and live in South Carolina and played this song in many of the cover bands I was in!
Yes, this is a brilliant album, isn't it?! I'm so happy to hear from you and the context of your experience with this music.....very cool. I'm really wanting to do "You Don't Miss Your Water", "The Christian Life", and "Pretty Boy Floyd" from this album as well.....man, great tunes all!
You're absolutely welcome! Thanks for the compliment on the effort! I agree this is an extraordinary album....one quite unlike any other The Byrds ever released their best IMO.
Thanks again for watching the video and taking the time to comment!
It's a gorgeous song isn't it? Seems somehow even more haunting, beautiful and touching today, knowing where Gram's path took him.
One thing that bugs me about the video looking at it now.....in the group picture the briefcase looks so much like a freakin' laptop!?!?! Wish I would have noticed that before and used a different picture! LOL!
Thank you so much for the kind compliment and for checking it out!
thank you so much for posting this. i can't stand most country. but i like how he actually sings normally and not like a country singer. its a nice variation.
Thanks for watching it and for commenting! This album is part of the foundation of all modern alt-country and country rock......a true masterpiece. I'm very glad you enjoyed the song.
Thanks! Very happy you checked it out....and even happier you liked it! LOL! It's just such a beautiful tune, but it doesn't seem to get mentioned much.
