I've said before and I'll say it again, a great show written by great writers... and I've long thought that the Grundel was the "true" Boogieman and the "Extreme Ghostbusters" episode about the Grundel was maybe about more than was on the screen and was instead a way of saying that you can escape the horrible things that may have happened to you as a child... not to psychoanalyze things too much but I thought they did give a truly good message there. I recall this one being from the later episodes of the ABC series (not Fox). That was when Lorenzo Music, Arsenio Hall, and Laura Summer had already left, so that Peter, Winston, and Janine's voices had to be replaced. I only got into a few of these episodes, preferring the ones on Fox (Ragnarok and Roll, etc). What I don't quite understand about this one is the fact that the Grundel turns kids into new Grundels. Does that mean that the guys blasted and trapped what used to be a good kid? =-()

This character was to many viewers appeared to be a possible Child Molester and there could be truth in that. His dialouge could often be related to a pedophile or child molester. Lines such as "Come out and play child", or "So fresh, so pure, but not for long", and "Open the window, we'll go away. Far from all the adults" can all be easily interpreted towards the subject.

Yeah, they changed her appearance and voice some time around season 3 or 4 (maybe? correct me if I'm wrong), because her voice were to shrieky/she weren't hot enough or some stupid shit like that. Since then, Janine has gone through several haircut (& glasses) changes, and I think this one is the most recent for RGB.

The first and second seasons of the series portray Janine as more of the rude secretary seen in the Film. In these seasons, she is voiced by Laura Summer. The third and fourth season saw her softened and given more of a role as the Ghostbusters' caregiver. Her glasses are now round, and she is slightly taller. The person now who voiced her from here until the end of the series is Kath Soucie.

It was suggested by consultants who thought her original glasses looked too demonic and thought her original personality was too mean. This was one of the things that drove J. Michael Straczynski to quit writing for the series.

Luckily, in the Extreme Ghostbusters series, Janine's old feistiness returned.

@L1701 Actually, before Extreme, there was an episode of Real ghostbusters, written, co-written or at least supervised, by J Michael Strazynski, which dealt with the Janine changes. JMS, as he is often known, returned to the show, and featured an episode where Janine's physical change in appearance was explained. As you mention, he disliked the Janine change, and so his story revealed that Janine was using a genie ie a ghost in disguise, to wish herself different. It was in order to contd.

In the episode, Egon actually has a side by side hologram of Janine, showing the progressive changes, which explained why Egon and co had not noticed, as the change was so gradual. Personally, I found it to be a really great episode, as they not only explained why she had changed, but returned her to normal.

I wish there could be a reference book like the one Egon had. I might sound silly, but ghots or demons really exist. Only people, that have experienced such things know what I'm talking about for the rest we'are fools. There was a program from Discovery channel that deals with that subject, but they don't explain how to combat such demons or ghosts. Personally, I had one experience and now I know how to combat that at least it doesn't bother me like before.

Usually, this kind of demon attacks its victims at night time when they're sleep and tries to enter their body. This demon paralizes the victim making them feel so tired that they can't speak or move at all. I wished I could have recorded it on camera.

True, It's funny You should mention that because I'm a fan fiction writer and I wrote sort of a spin off of Fallout were there are Creatures much like Grundel's call Midnighters, they look and act almost exactly like Grundels and they do the same things luring Children out in the dead of night and taking them to a fate unknown, but the midnighters in My story are not paranormal though they are mutated life-forms.
