  • did he die after or soemthnig

  • They could not negotiate to enough money in the contact to get biehn in the third one!

  • Thats not what happened. They actually had a script where Hicks was the main character for Alien 3 and Ripley was in a coma for the movie but the studio didn't think it would sell without Ripley so they scraped it. The script is somewhere online I read it a few years ago but honestly can't remember if it was better than what really happened.

  • Why Fox??? WHYYYYY :'(

  • im glad hicks died in alien 3, hes a great character and probably my favourite but he would have ruined that movie

  • is there anything hotter than Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn together?

  • When I was in the Navy, there used to be an accomodation block named 'Hicks' block. The other two were called Banks and Cook. Hicks was better because it had better carpet and closer to the main entrance gate lol!

Everytime I sawt he Hicks name I would laugh and think of Michael Bieh lol!

  • Cpl. Hicks could of been the star of Alien 3!

  • What pisses me off is that they don't explain how the egg got on the Sulaco, they force us to believe that. Yes, Hicks and Newt were cheaply killed off. I automatically hate the movie for that stunt. Now, if they re-did A3, bringing back Hicks, Newt and Bishop, and making the plot the way fans WANT to see it, I would pay to see that.

  • @sulacomarine

It's the studio. They wanted to get out Alien 3 as fast as possible and they figured out cheap ways to continue Ripley's story.

But, just the fact that Ripley is ONCE AGAIN the sole survivor seems cheap to me. I mean, what the fuck was the point of killing off Newt if Ripley isn't gonna feel anything from it?? She heard Newt dies and makes a joke about being naked?? Did the writers actually see or understand Aliens??

  • @sulacomarine Yes very far fetched with the egg move... totally fucked up everything from there on.

  • I agree.....JC makes some damn good movies, but I want to see some consistency from him. Aliens, Terminator 1 &2 were great, but what about Alien 3 or Terminator 3? I personally don't like Avatar, but it was a huge box office success....and if a sequel is made, guess who WON'T be directing it.

Going back to Aliens, after watching the whole thing and absorbing the plot, I must say it's definitely in my top 10 movies. Did you ever notice that Call of Duty 4 had a lot of references to the movie?

  • Nice.

  • Hicks will always live on.

  • Why you fuckers keep bringin up Avatar? its a Disney movie storyline and not even close to this mega movie Aliens I wouldnt watch Avatar for the second time everrr.

But Sam wortington would have made a great Colonial Marine. :)

  • When I was little I named my dog Hicks after my favorite marine!

  • Hicks played by Michael Biehn was the TOP. They destroyed alien serie eliminating "X". I saw the 3d episode and i have regretted it. Never more alien(s).

  • lovely tribute... I've only watch the 3rd one once, and I was so incredibly pissed...

Ripley and he were adorable. :)

  • I agree. he was WAY underused along with Bill Paxton. He is totally the fan favorite. at least he's MY favorite. =D

  • I'd like to keep this handy... *cocks shotgun* for close encounters.

  • @TheXenomorph1

    Frost: I hear that

  • I liked the fact that Hicks and Newt dies at the end. And Ripley is left all alone as the sole survivor, again. Aliens dont leave wounded :)

  • No they don't.......hicks get the acid blood on his face but he makes it and newt lives too they find her....what movie were you watching?

  • @TheSBrothers I meant in the Aliens movie universe. My bad, I shouldnt have said "They die at the end." But technically they do die in the end, you just dont find out till Alien 3 :P

  • haha oh i thought you meant aliens

  • @MiClLC To me, the Alien franchise ended after the 2nd one. Even though David Fincher is an excellent director, I hated the mythology of the 3rd film. As for the 4th, disgustingly bad!

  • @WhtMike2006 Dude, what do you think of a new Alien movie that takes place after Aliens but ignores 3, 4, AVP, and AVPR? Think about it? We could have a better Alien movie that forgets those bad movies ever happened.

  • @ScarPredator040365 Oh Scar, if only that were so. However, Fox has managed to crumble the Alien franchise with the last four movies. I can relate to your comment though. I ask myself that question all the time.

  • @MiClLC You know what! Hicks is cool, how dare you like him to die!

  • Yea, it does. Shame i have a ps3. I can't get halo reach.

  • Hm... dunno, i just dunno.... Doesn't he show his face though in like the 3rd?

  • o lol. Yea, that would be sick. Hicks is epic. Who was the guy that was like "game over man, game over!"? in the second film i think.

  • No, i don't know what your talking about though. Explain to me. Why not what?

  • What do you mean?

  • right on hicks and hudson someone who agrees with me but hudson was kinda shaky

  • Hicks and Hudson best Marines character

  • @4fan91 i like Apone =)

  • They should have put this guy in Avatar.

"Nuke them from orbit, it's the only way to be sure..."

  • HE SHOULD BE IN AVATAR 2 DEFO!

  • When "Alien" came out it stunned everyone, it moved the "state of the art" in sci fi to a much higher level however nothing can compare to the overwhelming perfection of "Aliens".

...I saw "Aliens" three times during the summer & fall of 86', emotions ran as high as an incredible football game -by the time Ripley unexpectedly came out in the loader lifter people were visibly stunned then suddenly started screaming and standing while shaking their fists at the screen -best war movie ever made.

  • @MightySaturn5 Unfortunately I was too young to see Aliens in theaters, being that I was only 2 years old. But I saw it when I was about 5 or so and to this day, it is without a doubt my favorite film of all time! Hicks, Ripley, Hudson, Velasquez, Drake, Apollo, so many great characters! That scene when the majority of the marines die still sometimes makes my eyes watery. There has never been another sci-fi movie that comes close to being as great as Aliens. And Michael Biehn rocks!

  • I totally agree my friend

  • you're so right!!! Even if it's a science fiction film, the characters are very good and charming. definitivly one of my favorite movie too

  • Apollo? You mean Apone?

  • I have such a big crush on Michael Biehn!

  • I was Hicks for halloween. Not many people knew who i was but he is the man in this movie.

  • Buen tributo, en verdad me gustó. Es una pena eliminaran de la saga a un personaje tan interesante y carismático. Siempre me agradó éste personaje de la película.

  • Alien 3 def should have had Hicks as a co-hero with Ripley

  • It sucks balls in the 3rd that he dies....Seeing him in that prison kicking ass would have been so SWEET.

  • hicks would have been gang raped in that prison in the 3rd film.i know what you mean i was shocked he died when i see the film back in the day.

  • agree with u i hate his death.....an that would be i mean he alive in that prison....ohhhh...

wait a moment?? why is no pulse rifles in ALien 3???

  • @lordsithlt Well I guess that Prison they are in has terrible technology, and no weapons. But you would think that in that Pod that Newt, Hicks and Ripley come down in, it would have weapons in there.....but I guess its just a movie.

  • yeah it was just a movie...sad...

    Newt an Hicks death....sad

  • @GXPFiend ALIEN 3 to me always felt like the makers of that film were giving the finger to fans of the second one, the way they killed off the characters who audiences had gotten so attached to.

  • Yeah, because Ripley as the main protagonist was getting ever so slightly old. Did you know they actually planned to have Hicks as the main hero in Alien 3, but they decided against it in the end and make Ripley the sole survivor, again. (sigh) Too bad, right? But I do admire Ripley's character, don't get me wrong, but Hicks was so (sigh) lovable

  • @PATS06 There should have never been an Alien 3 like the version that is released lol.

  • @PATS06 then the movie wouldve ended before it started :)

  • @PATS06 aliens 3 should never have happened lol.

  • Nice tribute. Very dissapointing that they killed him off from Alien 3 still I think its a good film still.

  • thats why i didn't care much for alien3 cause they had to kill him off befrore the movie even began

  • el mejor soldado que hubo jamas, y michael biehn el mejor actor del mundo, es mi heroe un actor como pocos a habido, larga vida a hicks y a michael biehn.

  • great job. Mike was great in Aliens, but I'm always going to see him as Kyle Reese

  • I will never forget the look on my face when it was revealed that Hicks was dead in the beginning of Alien 3...to this day I'm still upset about it...

  • That so sucks how he gets impaled to death while in hyper sleep at the beginning of Alien 3 :(

He was a great space Marine...

  • Perhaps in another life, he had been an excellent Tech-Com soldier. If you think about it, Kyle Reese is immortal, stuck in a time loop.

  • Thats a positive perspective to put it.

  • P.S. Fuck Alien 3.

  • FUCKING A!!!

  • Never happened, just a bad dream in cryosleep ^-^. Seriously tho, that movie can lick my balls.

  • hicks was so underused in the franchise. if he had to die, i would have rather had him die in aliens. instead of tht crappy excuse we got in alien 3. he was an excellent character and i thinnk its safe to say hes the fans favourite

  • Seriously, I mean come on dying in hypersleep he should have died with a great fight at least. like Hudson did, "fuck you, oh you want some of this fuck you!!"

  • yeah exactly. the one that was the leader of men and the most dependable of the marines and he didnt even go down fighting unlike the so called grunt hudson

  • @Discipleofbabylon Damn right man......he gets impaled while being asleep??? Fuck that man.....he really should've been along side ripley kicking alien ass in the third one......Perhaps he wasn't available (or willing) to do the third movie and the producers just wrote him off the script....'cause his death was way too cheap

  • @dcollegeboy I remember there was an Aliens documentary and he was interviewed about not appearing in the third film. Needless to say he was disappointed. I think the screenwriter shouldve been shot.he just took those two characters Hicks and Newt and easily killed them off. at least couldve been near the end of the movie but the beginning?? No wonder it sucked.

  • @1sotrue EXACTLY.....that's like randomly killing off Chewie and Lando (from Star Wars) at the beginning of the Return of the Jedi....what sense would that make?

  • @dcollegeboy Good Point If James Cameron directed the third one no way he wouldve killed those characters off. Aliens was so successful, Im curious why James didnt to do the third installment. I think he wrote the screenplay for Aliens if he wrote the third it would've been entirely different film.

  • @dcollegeboy It's what Harrison Ford wanted to happen to Han Solo originally, but thankfully it didn't happen.

  • @kc86er Yeah, I remember hearing him say that during the freezing scene...Hicks and Newt were such great characters.....the directors/writers really screwed it up big time with that......As of now, Alien 3 and Resurrection no longer exist to me......It's just Alien and Aliens.

  • @dcollegeboy Well to be fair, "Alien 3" was very well-made VISUALLY. The story was disappointing and anti-climactic, and I agree that killing off Hicks and Newt was a cheap shot. Even David Fincher admitted on the audio commentary that "Alien 3" had a lot of plot holes. But I don't think it is total 100% crap; that's just my opinion.

"Alien" and "Aliens" are masterpieces, but "Alien 3" was just okay (bordering on mediocre). And I have no comment on "Resurrection"; it speaks for itself.

  • @kc86er Yeah I agree with that...personally I thought Alien 3's ending was interesting...but I just do not like how they killed off major characters as soon as the movie started. It had potential, but like you said...too many plot holes.

  • @dcollegeboy It's a throwback to Alien, where they are stuck without any weapons and have to fight one single alien with whatever they can improvise with. Makes sense really... bring in Hicks and all the firepower and the movie would be finished within 10-15 minutes lol!

  • @TCFan25 That's why we're all on here commenting on how Hicks was cheaply killed off---he's the shit!

"I like to keep this handy for close encounters."

  • @Discipleofbabylon well they should have got engaged after all..had the Alien queen Merry them live happily ever after fighting the Aliens and Predators :)

  • @crimsonsunlight2 Yeah, I say that Aliens was the last movie of the franchise. Hicks is still alive in my eyes - would've been nice if as you said he and Ripley got together and adopted Newt.

  • damn! someone must made a new alien 3 movie!

  • how does he die

  • To make the long story short, an Alien egg hatches on the ship and causes a fire. Ripley, Newt, Hicks and Bishop are all ejected in a pod. The pod crash lands and Hicks suffers the LAMEST death in movie history when a support beam crashes down and impales him in his hypersleep capsule.

  • thx ;)

  • You'd think that they would check the ship for alien eggs before entering hypersleep. Ya know, since they just had a battle with a queen and all.

  • They killed off such a good character but at least he survives in the books.

  • So he does survive in the books then? I've not read them and always wondered. Shame then that they killed the character on screen.

  • his such an underrated actor i think his brilliant

  • Yeah, I was thinking the same thing; very good actor. At least he's had roles in two of the greatest science fiction movies ever.

  • Not the mention his roles in The Abyss and his portrayal of Johnny Ringo in Tombstone.

  • plus he was in the rock and planet terror

  • I named my deceased dog hicks

  • the best character in all alien movies. I stll can´t believe it, that they let him died in part 3. Alien 3 is worst part of all.

  • Hicks was so damn fine i love micheal bien!!!

  • Awesomeness. Pure awesomeness. Long live the Hicks!

  • If James Cameron had a bit more sense he would have made this guy the Lt, and had him live through this and fight in the third movie, look how lame sequels are nowadays they could have explained it..

  • Cameron had no control over the sequel. He was not the director for Alien 3, and thus had no say so in the story.

  • Cameron didn't direct Alien 3.

  • I heard he wanted to, and 20th Century Fox basically gave him the Finger.

  • i disagree, when It came to the third movie WE ALL got the finger..

  • Oh don't get me wrong, WE ALL got the finger with #3. That I agree with. I think most would agree there.

  • On Hicks' armor he has a red heart with a padlock going through it. I wonder why that is. I know I read somewhere that Cameron let the cast write whatever they wanted to on their gear.

  • Michael came in to the movie late, and another actor had already graffitied the armor.

  • I wonder what the heart with the padlock was supposed to mean.

  • i liked the thrid alien but the whole idea that the queen laid an egg on the ship was a little shady, i thought she need her attachment to do that. Just my thoghts.

  • Reply to heartofthegram1577:

Not only that but in every other movie up to that point, when you were cocooned, it put you in a comatose state, then you awoke and shortly thereafter the chest burster bursts out. But in this one, Ripley has no comatose state, unless we count the hypersleep, and even if it was then, the alien should've burst out much sooner. I bet they try to cheesily explain this away by saying that a queen's gestation is "different".

  • I like this video, but I think you should've ended it w/the pic in 2:10 (either that or one of him sleeping as the ship first descended on the planet after leaving the Sulaco!) and maybe taken out some pics so that the pics end when the music ends or started the pics before the music in the beginning so that they end in sync.

  • how did him a newt die in the 3rd alien?

  • she drowned

  • Both were killed when a part of the ship crashed. Hick was impaled by a safety beam. Newt drowned in her Cryo tube.

  • I never got it why Michael Biehn never became more of a star. What kept him? He's a brilliant actor and damn good looking...

  • Cause in the 80's you had to have muscles like arnold shwarznegger, sylvester stallone or bruce willis..

Good job James Cameron noticed his talent!

  • Biehn nailed this role. And first James Remar was suppose to play Hicks but he left before production began and Biehn replaced him. While others had trained like months for their roles Biehn had little if any time to prepare. Considering how well he plays his role here I think it really proofs how wonderful actor he indeed is.

  • They say Remar left b/c of "creative differences" btwn he and Cameron. If that is the case, then it was a good thing. I love the Hicks that Biehn played, so I assume that is what Cameron wanted. If Remar wanted to go in a different direction, it wouldn't have worked. And I don't think playing Hicks any other way would've had that subtle chemistry with Ripley's character.

  • I LUFF HICKS!

  • Excellent well pieced together tribute video of one of the best marines of the Sulacco crew.

  • Ilike the assault rifles from the marines nice gun^^

  • its a thomson

  • I had such a crush on him back then... 11 years old... :))

I agree... killing him was a HUGE mistake!

  • Dwayne hicks and vasquez are the most cool soldiers of aliens.

  • The world ended when they made Alien 3 ...writing out Biehn. A class actor and a cool and awesome role as Hicks

  • Many "Aliens" movie fans support that Hudson is the "coolest" marine in the movie, but i prefer the "lonely" one : HICKS....

Calm, mysterious, mindful, with leadership abilities, cool-headed, good soldier, and of course he lived through this shit!!!

  • Dam straight, he's a badass, but a cool-headed one - a real group-leader type. Of course, Michael had that down pat in this flick.

  • Wonder if you'll ever post a tribute about the UAC Marine Corporal in Doom 3??

He's been through hell and back literally

  • biehn and paxton for alien 5

  • he dies in alien 3 but he ricks

    viva hicks!!

  • I'm SO with you!!!! No Alien movie exists after Aliens!

  • Im with you too, alien3 very very disapointed me, hicks kill many drones, but in alien 3 a runner survive a bath of PB in point of fusion

  • I love this video of Hickey baby. Great work :P

  • I liked it. You picked some good images. The last few could've been a bit better. And you should've included the one where he fell asleep during the drop, it's iconic.

    Regardless, nice work. 5/5

    "Somebody wake up Hicks!"

  • Simply the best actor ever. And the most overlooked actor ever for that matter. Simply awesome display of diversity in acting coming from this guy.

  • hicks was a badass! a natural leader

  • Very nice viedo!

Was there love between him and Ripley btw?

When Hicks says don't be too long Ellen, that appeared to be pretty romantic.

  • notice the family setup as well, Ripley as the mother, Hicks as the father, and Newt as the child. That's how Cameron set it up. :D

  • Great Work! Especially the emotional music from Ressurection with those Biehn pictures. Hicks is my favourite character from all the Alien films, games, books, thank you for the video! 5/5

  • Go Hicks! ! ! You should do a tribute video to Hudson ;)
