Yeah, the guy who said that was involved with LNT, so you can imagine the shock he was going through at that point. 'Stunned' would be a massive understatement.
Shame about the last bsb championship race, the leader getting clipped on one of the last laps! i think i was there when that happened with the ginetta... shocking.
All I can say < Im glad that the driver OK :) , And a VERY well done to the MARSHALS , as gnpotter said " British marshalls are the best in the world " . Tottaly agree :) .
As it was my car I would just like to take this opportunity to say Hunter is fine and we will be out at the next round at Knock Hill.
On behalf of Hunter, my team and myself I would like to thank Ginetta cars for building such a strong car and therefore saving Hunter from serious harm.
Would it be possible to get the high res version of this video?
Ive been marshaling since 96 ive had cars come over the barrier at me on my first day but nothing compares to that excellent work by the great and British MARSHALS! its the worst Ive seen in the 13 years Ive been going
Unfortunately me & my team were at Water Tower so we missed this but we did get a huge Formula Ford crash today! First class marshalling by those guys on an incident which could so easily have been fatal. I was hoping to meet the marshals to shake their hands but didnt get time. myspace.c0m/BusbyMarshallingTeam
the marshaling was amazing, the speed they got to the car and put it out was excellent and considering they were looking after a trainee on his first day as well!
Who gives a **** about Rob's car?! Doesn't the driver's saftey come priority over some car? Excellent catch mate, glad to hear that is is okay. I like motorsport, but in a crash like this, the cars can go to hell as far as i'm concerend, the driver is the most important thing
Scratch that, I mean Channel 4...(though it'd be the same broadcast crew obviously..I just saw a Ginetta and thought of the one make series...whoops! :-P )

hmmmm im pretty sure you'd be able to see the lights from the distance this video is taken from if the so called extra lighting is they're
what flag
The flames would only burn the direct area where the fire was do you think its going to take out the whole track and the signs too
as soon as the guy jumps out the car they're putting him out no camera hesitation they're fella
how is that not consistent with real damage the car is in bits its crumpled all over and half the bits are on the grass
bobdope2002 3 years ago
fao KingDanny96 - I can assure you that it was a genuine and very scary crash. I was stood where the crash happened - it was definitely genuine.
Rob - I'm glad Hunter's ok; best of luck for the rest of the season.

Rough Translation:
Perfect work by the Marshals. Less than 10 seconds after the car caught fire someone was already extinguishing it.
