I think that the best analogy we could use to describe obama is an overhyped videogame with a really good marketing team. When it was released to the public and was picked up by tons of people at midnight, parties and ridiculous events were hled. Once people got over the launch, they realized the game wasn't really that good. It wasn't bad by any standards but the hype surrounding it promised to fulfill your every wish. Two years later, you kinda wished you had waited til a price drop.
Overall.... Not too shabby. Counting Stalled and Broken promises as "broken" that's a grand total of 104, whereas if I'm counting the rest as "kept" he is at 400.

This liar promised while running for the presidency that the debate over healthcare reform would be broadcast over C-SPAN, so that everyone could see what our Congress was up to. Instead, he holds a closed door session with Democrats only and no one else (i.e. public, C-SPAN, Republicans) is allowed in to produce what is now known as "Obama Care".

Republican Senators only have themselves to blame on not knowing what's inside bills. There is always a copy of bills available to read. The only way I see to fix the problem:
Put the President/Prime Minister/Dictator/whatever on continual audio-video surveillance, on a network freely avaliable to the public. No more restaurant deals, golf agreements, lobby deals... no more game.
You'll be sure that the person racing an election will do it with true devotion.
Democracy is first based on vote. It's been so since a long time. With exponential communication and modern tech, we should also reconsider the mechanisms of voting.

I think that the best analogy we could use to describe obama is an overhyped videogame with a really good marketing team. When it was released to the public and was picked up by tons of people at midnight, parties and ridiculous events were hled. Once people got over the launch, they realized the game wasn't really that good. It wasn't bad by any standards but the hype surrounding it promised to fulfill your every wish. Two years later, you kinda wished you had waited til a price drop.

The Democrats couldn't get the 60 votes needed without the Republicans help. The Republicans told Obama what it would take for them to end the filibuster on healthcare reform. All of that was added to the bill.
Meanwhile, the Pelosi bill with real reforms and public option, was never brought up for a vote.
