Is it this me or is it funny people take I what to save on gas so i'm goin to buy a motorcycle, and then buy a 1000cc+ motorcycle LoL. WoW it's funny ashell it really is. You buy a 250cc there good bikes and the top speed you are goin to be way over the speed limit. Good bikes wish there were more.
@wardwares Absolutely,I have to agree with you but he or she can use either he/she or they. There's a saying "You can only judge and redirect but you are not the boss of me".
Buy an older CBR before the HP was limited. The old ones have 45hp and rev to 19k and sound like an F1 racing car! Theres lots of nice tidy old CBR250's around.
Be careful the CBR250r has a very dangerous stalling issue, that Honda needs to address. Please do your research, Search cbr250 problem on youtube and google!!!
@brainysnaeha Think the Ninja is 33bhp, Where this CBR is around 29bhp, Only a small difference but I'm sure its noticeable, I personally prefer the Ninja, more mainstream with a nice "bigger bike" look, This 250 has the same body as the 125 so it is small in comparison to other bigger bikes
@cheezgrated hmm, i'll half let them off, but still, they say it is hondas smallest cbr...which it isnt, it's just the smallest available in that country :P
@027Erik It's a great first bike, budget sportbike or capable commuter bike. But if you tend to ride with your friends who have faster bikes, you may want to consider something a bit more powerful; you can also let them ride ahead and catch up later.
@man101610 There is no minimum height. But if it's your first bike, you can have the seat shaved down or the suspension slightly lowered if you want the confidence boost from having a foot firmly planted on the ground. You could put frame sliders on there to protect the fairings or levers in case you do drop the bike. But as a shorty rider, you will have to be aware of where you are putting your foot down. Just can't be lazy. :)
I do a lot of work in the city as a bar tender with an agency and as such has to go to a different place just about every shift. I do have to take some gear and a suit with me. Is getting this bike worth it or should I look into a scooter with more storage? I just feel that all the protective gear, boots, dragon jeans, jacket and helmut would just be too much stuff to take into a venue and hope no one steals it.
hey guys, im about 5'2"ish... 5'3" if it makes a difference, will i have a height problem with the bike? and i am 19yrs old btw. physically fit, 130lbs, thank you in advance to whoever can give me a real honest response/opinion
It's like rubbish, see the looks of the CBR 250 as compared to Yamaha R15. I'm not saying here of engine power, It's soooooooo plain and boooooooooring. Such a mono light is going to be so 2000 and late and no match of dual lights. It needs some quick makeover in vinyls, else it's like an Audi without signature LED's and killing looks.
@NEWanjingkepala3 oh and dont forget harley riders, i ride a F4i and all me neighbors ride fucking harleys... i get so much shit from them. dont forget elitists too haha
@wardwares 'They' is not technically correct because it is plural, but people still use it that way. I personally use either he or she depending on my mood, because I find he/she unwieldy if I have to repeat that several times.
I'm having dificulty maneuverring at low speeds, the bike is big and heavy (around 200 kg), also I rarely use its full potential, traffic filtering is most of my commute and 98 hp is overkill. And yes, it's fast to, I can break the law in first gear.
@blackstar2008 It's easy to ride motorcycles at speed, but hard to ride them slowly because the bike feels unstable. But it's something you can get better at.
Try taking it to a parking lot and practicing your clutch friction zone. Once you're happy with starting and stopping smoothly, start adding in low speed turns. And then U-turns and progressively tighter circles. It will increase your confidence, and make your motorcycle feel less big and heavy. Be in control of your bike. :)
That whole bigger is better attitude is for douche bags! It's all about how you ride! There isn't anything wrong with a 250. A good rider makes the experience! Sure, you get power the bigger you go, but most dumb ass' who jump into one don't know what to do with it! I say fuk em, ride on brother!!
i checked the cbr250r an i gotta say its gonna be my starter bike, the dealer had a ninja 250r an the cbr i sat on both but the cbr felt better to me.
@jeffreymcneill honda says 77 cuz if you are on strictly highway at EXACTLY the right rpm its "supposed" to get that. The ninja is also. About 75 or so. But on average if you ride well they will do 55 atleast. Just don't over do it.
@xXGFYXxjibs I ride mostly city and I get around 73 US mpg. I caned it hard on one tank of gas and dropped it to 71 mpg. I weigh 100 lbs though. Still, fuel economy's the least of your worries with the CBR250R. :)
@jeffreymcneill while this might be true for some bikers it's definitely not the norm. bigger bikes offer better performance and some people like it that way.
From what I've read, these are supposed to be launched worldwide in November and I haven;t found the base price yet? Can anyone tell me the sticker price on release?
It looks extremely "high". Could be deceptive angles on the video, but I just dont see why anyone would ever want a 250 these days. Fuel efficiency is dependent on many factors, not simply capacity. I'd place this firmly in the learner bike bracket, otherwise, for a commuter, why not simply buy a CBF500?
what does the r stand for? looks fine but personally i think they should change the name, its an insult to the old cbr250. sounds like crap, search for an old video of a cbr250rr and youll see what i mean
@norybsamoht I agree. But from what I have read this bike has to work fairly hard at 70 mph. It vibrates a lot. From what I have read, a beginner should get the Honda CBR250R. An experienced rider should invest in the Ninja 250R. Just what I have read.
They act like a single cylinder 250cc motor is the most crazy thing anybody has ever seen before... yet Honda produces(ed) both a CRF250F and a CR250R....nontheless.. they also produced a 500cc single cylinder motor.. I really dont understand what all the hype is about.. instead of paying 8000$ I might as well stick some street slicks on my dirtbike
Hi. I live in Australia and i'm 6ft, 5inch and 187 pound (85kg). The bike is very comfortable for me to ride but I did have to lower the gear pedal a little 1st. My legs fit snuggly into the grooves unlike the Ninja where my legs stick out around the fuel tank. I am SO happy I bought my CBR 2 weeks ago and have had no regrets. You'll love it.
@mikemsaggus the rr is a racing bike, and as far as i know it is not made anymore. Now the r on the other hand, is a beginners/town commuter bike, which is very low maintenance 8,000 miles every oil change, and 16,000 miles for a valve check, im sure your rr will not say go 16,000 miles every valve check, plus the rr is a 4 cyl so it is 4 times the work. Either way maintenance isnt going to be fun for your rr, mechanic, or home work.
@MrDarrinWarren The CRF 150RB is a racing bike, which means it has a lightweight piston, and flywheel, plus a bigger than streetbike rear sprocket. But the bad part is you have to rebuild the engine every 15 hours of racing, and thanks to its bigger sprocket, the top speed is reduced. Now none of these things are realistic for a 250 street bike, unless it is a real racing bike.so its no wonder your dirtbike will beat the streetbike.
I'm a new rider and recently stopped by my areas Honda dealer to look at this bike...it is very sleek, comfortable, and the price is great for a new ride 250 cc or otherwise. I am passionate about bikes and will use it for commuting everywhere as often as possible...rain, light snow etc...I already know I will be made fun of for being a safe rider and owning a 250 and I honestly do not care. Anyone that rips on someone else for being safe has some major issues within themselves.Good day everyone
@ReddJ26 dude it is annoying , every time I go to a bike hangout the first thing they ask me is "when are you getting a 650? " I am happy with my 250r ninja , it looks awesome , it goes fast enough , and it is great on gas and comfortable , acceleration is equal to a 350z nissan or a honda civic SI , when going to another hang out they flat out tell me to see them there because they won't wait for me , I don;t want a bigger bike but peer pressure is a bitch.
@venom400 I own a 650R and have owned two 250Rs. Your "friends" are idiots, the 250R Ninja is a legitimate sport bike, and more fun than my 650R.
But get rid of it before 30,000 miles. After that, the engine starts falling apart, even w/1,000 mile synthetic oil and filter changes and valve adjustments, trust me.
@venom400 Peer pressure is a bitch indeed...but that is all it is "pressure." While it is annoying I won't let it effect my learning process. Safe and Fun are not oxymorons.
@venom400 Right ..... and once yah get the 650 they all show up on 1000's and ask ... "when yah gettin a 1000 ?" I love this bike and thinking of getting one .. I would never get anything bigger than a 650 it's just a waste. This bike will put a smile on your face just the same.
@venom400 Best way to shut them up is run lead on a cruise through some twisties and leave them in the dust and when they finally catch up and stop at the end and are in shock over how much distance you put on them laugh and say when you guys going to get a 250r?
this looks new and stuff but ninja will always be better....if only they had a digital gauge the ninja would look alot better and maybe a new silencer
@2cool0 Ninja250 is faster by like 10mph and has 2 cylinders but Cbr250 has better acceleration, uses fuel injection rather than a carburetor getting better MPG. This bike would be awesome if it had just a slightly bigger engine maybe 400cc but a lot of countries have restrictions on bikes larger than 250cc (taxes, beginer licenses ect...) i suppose thats why the different 250's and below are gaining in popularity.
You should bring the CBR 150R And 125R models to america! They are both great starter bikes, and they are both considered mopeds here. Which means 15 and 16 year olds can ride a real sport bike that has real sport bike power, gears, and rpm, instead of some ugly CVT mopeds.
Copy and paste this comment to all Honda related videos. Originally started by Daschickenify
Honda would have done well to have a control of some kind to "detune" the bike for beginners and that would allow the 250 to use every bit of its potential for advanced riders that want a lightweight 250, but want it to rip like crazy.
My CRF150RB dirt bike absolutely kills my Ninja 250 in terms of power and torque. Why can't they give these 250 sport bikes the power and acceleration of dirt bikes. I'm assuming, because beginners would be flipping them over at every light
@MrDarinWarren Yea i have to agree with you to on that i have seen riders pin it on dirt bikes and go flying off there bike not expecting that kinda power.
@JoshW23 If you're absolutely new to riding, I would suggest getting a 250 first to get a feel of how a 600 or higher CC would be. 250s are more forgiving if you're new and make mistakes. It's quite difficult if you start with a 600. You could always move up to a 600cc when you're ready. :D
@Umair8409 try johnRduffy and cornerstone brokers....they are both good.If u have a g license and its been 5 years since u got ur g1 then try State farm especially Sabrina Paul(she is a very good SF agent and the only SF agent i like).Ask for brian for johnrduffy and shane for cornerstone.
I'm thinkin' I may park the ol' '83 Nighthawk and get me one of these. I love my classic black beauty, but I wouldn't mind having something else like this!
@1000miles2paradise How tall are you exactly? Some tall guys have said they feel comfortable while others say they do not on this bike, your best bet would be to go into a dealership and sit on the bike and determine the comfort value for yourself.
I sat on my friend's CBF125 and felt comfortable on that, I checked out the dimensions of that bike and this and they aren't too different so for me this should be okay, oh and I am 6ft 1.
@NoxNoctisUmbra It might be a cliche, but it's a matter of what suits you better. Go sit on them, ride them and pick one. They're are both really good bikes in their own right. So I guess what I'm saying is that you can't go wrong with either.
hi guys..i would like to buy a 250cc superbike but i want it to be an inline 4 cylinder high revving like previous cbr250. one or two recommendation people. any bike is possible.
I just bought a brand new CBR250R with ABS and I am not an experienced rider so this is and will be a great "starter" bike for me. At interstate speeds the turbulence from other vehicles and the vibration of the bike at 7,000 RPM and more make me want to ride a 600cc bike or larger, but then I wouldn't be getting the great gas mileage that I wanted, which was the primary reason for choosing this bike over the 600cc or greater bikes. Trade-off: mileage versus performance!!!
@aznsrpimps2 im in the same boat. my dad is pushing me to get a honda. i think overall the honda will be better, i trust the name brand more than kawasaki, and it seems to get better ratings
@khuong1994 You indirectly asked him not to. Everyone has the right to express their opinion with their own arguments whether you agree or not with what is said. If you want to answer, try using arguments.
@CarDoseS If you read my comment i asked him why he bothered commenting. I never said he could not comment. And as you said before everyone has the right to comment so whether or not my comment may or may not have been particularly relevant I still retain my right to comment. The end.
@gregnmac It is already for sale in Indonesia, check your Honda website for details, it's around 39jt for standard and 46jt for ABS version (if I remember correctly).
This'll be my bike in a few months, in black. I'm super excited to start riding!

" I am happy with my 250r ninja , it looks awesome , it goes fast enough , and it is great on gas and comfortable , acceleration is equal to a 350z nissan or a honda civic SI , when going to another hang out they flat out tell me to see them there because they won't wait for me , I don;t want a bigger bike but peer pressure is a bitch.
venom400 7 months ago 55
@venom400 I own a 650R and have owned two 250Rs. Your "friends" are idiots, the 250R Ninja is a legitimate sport bike, and more fun than my 650R.
But get rid of it before 30,000 miles. After that, the engine starts falling apart, even w/1,000 mile synthetic oil and filter changes and valve adjustments, trust me.
I think the CBR250R will be a great bike.
SPQRImperator 7 months ago 2
@venom400 Peer pressure is a bitch indeed...but that is all it is "pressure." While it is annoying I won't let it effect my learning process. Safe and Fun are not oxymorons.
ReddJ26 7 months ago
@venom400 Right ..... and once yah get the 650 they all show up on 1000's and ask ... "when yah gettin a 1000 ?" I love this bike and thinking of getting one .. I would never get anything bigger than a 650 it's just a waste. This bike will put a smile on your face just the same.
ZoneTelevision 6 months ago 2
@venom400 Best way to shut them up is run lead on a cruise through some twisties and leave them in the dust and when they finally catch up and stop at the end and are in shock over how much distance you put on them laugh and say when you guys going to get a 250r?
Darksurfr 6 months ago
@venom400 so? fuck them

@venom400 So the ninja is a good bike? tempted to get it
miniadult12 2 weeks ago
this looks new and stuff but ninja will always be better....if only they had a digital gauge the ninja would look alot better and maybe a new silencer
2cool0 8 months ago
@2cool0 Ninja250 is faster by like 10mph and has 2 cylinders but Cbr250 has better acceleration, uses fuel injection rather than a carburetor getting better MPG. This bike would be awesome if it had just a slightly bigger engine maybe 400cc but a lot of countries have restrictions on bikes larger than 250cc (taxes, beginer licenses ect...) i suppose thats why the different 250's and below are gaining in popularity.

Honda!

@Daschickenify depends on the state here in Minnesota it has to be below 50cc to be a moped. what state do you live in?
assmonkey626 8 months ago
Honda would have done well to have a control of some kind to "detune" the bike for beginners and that would allow the 250 to use every bit of its potential for advanced riders that want a lightweight 250, but want it to rip like crazy.
My CRF150RB dirt bike absolutely kills my Ninja 250 in terms of power and torque. Why can't they give these 250 sport bikes the power and acceleration of dirt bikes. I'm assuming, because beginners would be flipping them over at every light
MrDarinWarren 8 months ago
@MrDarinWarren Try riding your dirt bike 100k miles without rebuilding the engine.
aluisious 8 months ago
@aluisious I'm sure I've ridden more than that far. Really. 4 stroke dirt bikes of the same cc's KILL street bike in torque.
MrDarinWarren 8 months ago
@MrDarinWarren Yea i have to agree with you to on that i have seen riders pin it on dirt bikes and go flying off there bike not expecting that kinda power.

im 28 and never owned a bike, any idea's on getting one of these? or a 600?
JoshW23 8 months ago
@JoshW23 If you're absolutely new to riding, I would suggest getting a 250 first to get a feel of how a 600 or higher CC would be. 250s are more forgiving if you're new and make mistakes. It's quite difficult if you start with a 600. You could always move up to a 600cc when you're ready. :D
haerilee 8 months ago
@haerilee thanks, i really like the look of the 250's i may have to go to my local dealer and sit on one and see how comfortable it is.
JoshW23 8 months ago
@haerilee Agreed. Beginners, stay away from 600+. Really.
MrDarinWarren 8 months ago
@JoshW23 I'd go with a 250 first, 600's are ridicoulously powerful. 270kmh stock and ridicoulous acceleration

Would the CBR250R fit a tall person a little better than the ninja 250? Any takers?
1000miles2paradise 9 months ago
@1000miles2paradise How tall are you exactly? Some tall guys have said they feel comfortable while others say they do not on this bike, your best bet would be to go into a dealership and sit on the bike and determine the comfort value for yourself.
I sat on my friend's CBF125 and felt comfortable on that, I checked out the dimensions of that bike and this and they aren't too different so for me this should be okay, oh and I am 6ft 1.
Damn this bike is sexy, can't wait to get one.

NoxNoctisUmbra 9 months ago
@NoxNoctisUmbra It might be a cliche, but it's a matter of what suits you better. Go sit on them, ride them and pick one. They're are both really good bikes in their own right. So I guess what I'm saying is that you can't go wrong with either.
XR8xSHOCKWAVE 9 months ago
performance wise, the ninja, but the cbr gets fuel injection and is a little smoother. they are about dead even though

@NoxNoctisUmbra in other words, the Honda CBR250R is superior IMHO

I put my deposit too in Toronto . I'll enjoy it this summer. Anybody wants to join me? Welcome guys.
siamakmkh 10 months ago
@siamakmkh
Trade-off: mileage versus performance!!!
ocracoke2012 3 months ago
put my deposit on a 250r today! gonna drive it across the country this summer. Can't wait =D

It's about time Honda brought out a CBR 250 but why does the styling mimic the VFR1200?
If anything it should look like a scaled down CBR 600 RR or Fireblade. And Honda, WHAT'S WITH THE HEADLIGHT SHAPED LIKE UNDERPANTS?
