@bally28 you're either thinking of fragile rock or trap door, which by the way was narrated by Terry Wogan. Right I'm away to have a long hard look at my life now :(
does anyone remember some kids programme where there was a small door which kept these small ppl or monsters with masks in....such vague memories...it was terriyfing...im sure they would come out at night...boy wish i had more of an idea.
@MrRach33 I think that programme was called ""Tottie a Doll's House" Unfortunately it's not a happy ending as one of the other doll's (I think she was called Marchaline), became jealous and started a fire in the doll's, killing one of the other dolls!!
Also seem to have a sad memory of Badger Girl - weren't these ponies being smuggled to France for the meat market?
@solay78 bloody hell thats terrible. why do kids shows/films have to be so full of horror? Its like we have to be conditioned to be scared and submissive. Ok I get the dont play with fire message but ponys smuggled to france for meat, thats just evil.
Right class, everyone into the library while I wheel out this massive-fuck-off telly on a trolley and fuck about trying to get the video to work. 2 minutes if fast forwarded Zig-Zag, and we're off.
The 2 kids - one was in the railway children and the girl is a young Ray Winstone right?
I remember that experience :) They always had to call down the technician (or ask one of the children in the class!) to just get the video player working...
@Planetwatts Me too! My favourite Look and Read story and I still have my workbook from this which must be a collector''s item now! Must ask Dad to get it from the loft and I saw it once!
@38Highbury - Bwhahahahaha, sooo true! And if it wasn't fast forwading it was getting the tracking right and waiting for the picture to stop moving across the screen.
@38Highbury - Bwhahahaa, sooo true! If it wasn't the fast forwarding it was getting the tracking right and then waiting for the picture to stop moving across the screen!
@38Highbury - Totally spot on - this was always the way. And the tracking was always out :) Plus the videos were always shite quality as they were re-recorded about 50,000 times LOL :) those were the days!
@38Highbury Ha big fuck off telly on some big metal trolley that could stand a nuclear holocaust lol and your right the teachers always took ages to get the video to work, id be like put it on channel 8 FFS
Did you know that sometimes the badger was played by a three year old child? They couldnt get a real badger to portray the badger's scenes so they put a child in a badger costume and the girl was called Mary, a welsh girl.
wow this makes me all nostalgic omg

Think you've mixed up a bit. Terry Wogan narrated Stoppit & Tidyup; Trap Door was narrated by Willy Rushton.

@borgduck I wouldn't think so , in this year. Early 90s yes, so it's just a coincidence, albeit a very good one. :)

Magic magic E? How that avoided getting sampled for an early 90s rave tune I'll never know...
jamesjenko 3 years ago
It might have been but the Magic "E" wizard was good at teaching children silent letters
