  • Hiyaaaa! Have you heard about - fast abs magic (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? Ive heard some super things about it and my brother in law got amazing 6 pack abs and lost lots of belly fat with it.

  • @ Geofatboy im new to de shaving. I currently just got a 59 fat boy and s 69 or 63 Gillette black de razor. My question is what kind of blades would you recommend. Also are those shaver aggressive? I get razor burn very easy. also what kind of shaving cream and brush would you recommend for a newbie. Does shave nation offer package deals? Hope to get a reply.

  • @ChefRVallin

Yes we have package deals at ShaveNationdocom....

I sent some links to your inbox to check out.

    Thanks,

    Geo.

  • @DolceGabbanaBYMAN

When shaving with a razor the size of a DE89 or Merkur HD, I grip it lightly in the middle near the center of the barrel with the pinky underneath for support.

For the larger sized razors such as a Vision, I let the bottom of the barrel rest in my palm and apply zero pressure.

If you don't complete a perfect shave the first few times, keep practicing, don't become discouraged.

It really is something you will need to sort out by practice and trial and error.

    Geo.

  • @DolceGabbanaBYMAN

What razors are you Gents using?

    Geo.

  • @DolceGabbanaBYMAN

    Sounds like a plan....

We'll call it "The Proper Way To Grip Your Barrel Video!!!"

It's now on my Video To Do List.

    Thanks,

    Geo.

  • hey geo

i'm not sure if this question has been asked before, but what is your favorite shaving brush to use

  • @trf1080

    I can't really say I have a favorite....

I like to mix things up so that I don't get bored.

My friend BladeBoy made me a really nice custom brush that I love and it works quite well.

you can see it in some of my videos.

There are also several brushes which I want to but have yet to try.

    Geo.

  • Does a slant bar require a different technique to that of a regular DE razor? For example, would you still use a 30 or so degree angle?

  • @ThatPony

The Slant Bar is very similar to the Merkur HD except for the skewed or twisted blade loading compartment.

The angle and shaving technique are the same because the design of the razor is what's doing the work.

Remember to apply very little to zero pressure while shaving with the slant.

    Enjoy the shave!

    Geo.

  • I used a 39C this morning. Great shave and great results.

  • @wizzie47

    Nice!

    G.

  • I want to buy a shaving brush, some shave cream, maybe a straight razor and some other stuff.

How much does it cost? I mean delivery to Denmark?

    Thanks. :-)

  • @MrAhmet30

    Usually about $13...

    Possibly more for larger packages.

    Geo.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Geo. :-)

Another great video from you. I wish you could shave all of it off but you did a great work again.

    I really enjoy your vids.

I have a question. Is it expensive if I wanna buy a good stuff from your homepage delivered to Denmark?

  • @MrAhmet30

    Thanks!

Most packages that we ship international are about $13 shipping.

    Large packages may be more.

    Hope to earn your business!

    Geo.

  • Wow bakelite! They use to make radios out of that stuff cause back in the 1950's when tube type radios were king they got fairly hot and Bakelite was the only plastic that could handle the heat. Now it's very rare to find anything made out of Bakelite because modern plastics are much better then they were in the 1940's - 1950's.

  • @NoMutantAllowed

I guess it won't have any problem standing up to the the hot water coming out of the faucet then.

Don't know why they specifically chose bakelite....

    Geo.

  • Excellent vids Geo, you are the reason I switched to a safety razor.Currently using a Merkur HD with Merkur blades as I am still fairly new to the idea.Hopefully I will be brave enough to try Feather blades in the future as they seem to do a great job lol.

    Take care mate :)

  • @mastermind443

You've chosen a good razor to start with and learn on.

Don't worry about the Feather Blades....

Whatever provides you with a BSS is the proper blade for you!

    Geo.

  • "Take care of business"! :) Reminds me of Elvis's motto and the "TCB" pendent he wore around his neck.

Really enjoying the Feather now. Been using it for a few weeks and have mastered the slightly different shaving angle to my vintage Gillettes. Funnily enough, I shaved tonight with my Brit Aristocrat and it felt too small so I must also have got used to the length too! I dread to say this but this beauty may be "the one"! LOL!

Once again, couldn't have done it without your bro!

    Take care

  • @itsamathematicsthing LOL! I just had a sudden urge for a peanut butter and banana sandwich!!! :) (I got the actual recipe from Elvis's personal Chef a few years ago) I sure miss the King! Loving the Feather All Stainless? I'm glad to hear it. Keep me posted as I'm always on the lookout for someone's favorite RAD KILLER! Sounds like this might be the end of the proverbial line! I'd like to have a razor to recommend as the best, when Gents tell me price is no object. Be well Sir! Geo.
  • you look like a Texan :))

  • @XJNHMVz

    YeeeeHaaaaaa!!!!

    HookemHorns!!!

I'll take that as a compliment!

    Geo.

  • Better yet...do you sale it on shave nation.com?

  • @tattooboy327

I currently do not sell it. I guess i should get some right?

    Geo.

  • Hey geo....I was wondering where You got your blue beards revenge shaving cream....I went to their site but not sure how to pay....and don't wanna get screwed....once you order does it convert the price from British pounds to usd? or did you get it from another supplier?

  • @tattooboy327

They sent me some supplies gratis to do a video review of their products.

    Geo.

  • Hello, I think its time to take the saftey razor plunge. Im a staight up noob so what set up would you recomend fron you site?

  • @MrSlicer2424 edwin Jagger EJ89, a blade sampler pack, and some TOBS Avocado and an Omega Brush, also a Alum block

  • @boravw1

    Sounds good to me!

    Thanks.

    Geo.

  • @MrSlicer2424

Merkur HD Razor, any of the Taylor of Old Bond Creams, any brush that's in your price range, Proraso Pre-Post cream, an alum block of your choice and some Trumper Skin Food.

  • @DolceGabbanaBYMAN

If you are a daring thrill seeker it's a great idea!

If you are more conservative.....start off with something less aggressive and work your way up to the Cobra!

    Geo.

  • @DolceGabbanaBYMAN

    Nice!

You should win a prize for that!!! :)

  • Did you say what Pre shave oil did you use? I used some AOS the other day and it was wayy to greasy

  • @boravw1

The one I happen to be using in the video is by Taconic.....

Taylor of Old Bond Street has a good pre-shave gel and oil as well.

Do an on line search and you can also find some home recipes to concoct your own pre-shave oils and gels...

    Grapeseed oil or olive oil...

Add some tea tree oil or rose water for a nice scent.

You can experiment until you find something less greasy and more effective.

Anything that softens your beard and hydrates it will assist you in your shaving ritual!

    Geo

  • Yo bro!

    Great video, as ever.

I've never used the mighty Sledgehammer but its baby brother packs enough of a punch for me!

Hope you managed to avoid Irene at the weekend; looked pretty nasty on the television. You’ve had some pretty intense weather this year.

Take care and keep up the great work.

    David

  • @itsamathematicsthing Thanks Bro! Regarding Irene, I'm on the phone with her as I'm typing this! (same name as one of my sisters) :) I'm in the Midwest so, totally unaffected by that mean-spirited Witch! Looking at the bright side, it may put a lot of people back to work when the clean up and repairs begin. Hopefully it may boost the economy! Agreed, definitely an overload of snow, rain, and storms this year..... We broke a lot of records! Take care of business my friend! Geo.
  • hay geo does the taylor of old bond street cream sandalwood contain parabans

  • @fahimsultan93 yes. but their sensitive skin, Jermyn st., and Eton College doesn't, but check out Razorock classic or XXX great stuff for cheap no paraben

  • @boravw1

The Edwin Jagger Shaving creams are 99% natural as well.

    Geo.

  • I just loving watching that Sledge pass through the growth so smoothly and effortlessly! Amazing how smooth it was with one pass, we would of probably ended up seeing blood with 3 passes haha!

Great tips as well on trimming up the goatee!

    Thanks

    Nick

  • @WolframandSpike

    Thanks Nick!

It really is a fine razor.

No problem achieving a super clean BSS with that beast!

Agreed, 2 passes would be more than enough, 3 would be too much icing on the cake.

    Take care mate!

    Geo.

  • Love it! Thank you for your videos, learned so much. I have very sensitive skin.

I wish I had a man like you to come home to, that would be nice - shaved or not :)

Keep up what you're doing.. Again, thank you!

  • @bagori99

    Thanks very much.

I'm glad you like the videos.

I'll keep putting them out as long as you keep watching em'! :)

    Geo.

  • Great video as always Geo!

  • @mjffviii

    Thanks much!

    G.

  • Thank you for continuing the great videos. I have a Merkur 178 and a 25C and use feather blades. Your last two videos have taught me small things about my shaving routine that help a ton. When i need some new shaving supplies It will be nice to buy from someone that knows his products so well.

  • @TheSkullroller

Great YT name by the way!

    Thanks very much.

    I'm happy to help out.

When you're ready, give me a shout if you need any assistance.

    Geo.

  • You sir are one of the reason I started wet-shaving. I'm 16 and I love my DE. Got The Weishi and work excellent for me. Hell its a $17 DE. Can't wait to try the Merkur 34HD. Thanks for the video. I have learned ALOT from these videos.

  • @iHubble

    Thanks, I appreciate that.

You'll likely find the HD to be a bit more aggressive than your current Weishi!

No worries, that's a good thing!

    Enjoy.

    Geo.

  • Epic!

  • @78recordrepair

    Thank you kindly!

    Geo.

  • Great video as always what your favorite safety razor I've got the fatboy and a Parker 33 really looking for better then the fatboy if there any thing

  • @blkwulff

    I'll put it this way:

If you find something better than the Fatboy, let me know!

    I'll bring my credit card!

    Geo.

  • You always ship your items out same day huh...nice.

  • @Spoon26

    Lol!

    Most people like that!

    Thanks!

    G.

  • What kind of facial hair style were you trying to achieve in the video?

  • @TomStick91 It's called the "I normally wear a goatee but I haven't shaved in a few days" look.

  • @dsmith308

    Exactly!

Or the "Somewhere between Cro Magnon and Neanderthal look......

AKA: How not to look on your next job interview! LOL.

    G.

  • @TomStick91

    Hah!

    The scary kind.....

    G.

  • the Merkur 39c (sledgehammer), is a super great razor. I used on for over 6 months, wish I hadnt got rid of her....

  • @jsj297

    Ahhhh!

Why would you do such a thing?

Well, you can always put it on your Birthday present list!

    Geo.

  • with your goatee would you trim it first or would you just go right ahead and do a 3 pass

  • @kantelier

That's really a matter of personal preference.....

I feel that it's easier to trim, thin, and detail your goatee or beard (with the trimmer) before getting it all wet.

Then apply shaving cream and shave the areas around it.

The battery or corded trimmer works much better on dry whiskers, as wet whiskers will clog and dull the cutters.

    Geo.

  • great video Geo! As a seasoned pro, would you recommend safety or straight razor shaving to a beginner of old fashion wet shaving ? I one day hope to go to barber school, but i want to try and get the hang of shaving with a single blade first. I'm looking to make a shave nation order soon and im just curious on what'd be beneficial to my learning.

  • @deathtotriangles b

I recommend that your maiden voyage be undertaken with a Safety Razor.

It's called a Safety Razor because of the "Safety" Bar that reveals only a small portion of the blade to come in contact with your skin.

The Straight Razor has no such Safety feature.

After you feel comfortable with the Safety Razor, then make the jump to the Straight!

    Enjoy!

    Geo.

  • 21 minute video FTW! Man, You've got some great videos

  • @GalladeZX

I hope you didn't get too sleepy!

    Especially during the Bakelite liturgy.....

    Thanks for the props!

    Geo.
