Actually, the way in which they used the "walk and talk" concept in this commercial is much more successful than in the Old Spice commercial regardless of which came first. In this one it's done to prove the point that he knows what's going to happen before it happens because he was able to research the hotel. In the Old Spide commercial it was a series of randomized settings and places in order to capture viewer attention without any specific consideration for reason.

pardon my ignorance but who is the guy in the commercial? I understand it's a rip off of an Old Spice commercial but I get the impression there's more to it than Jerry Lewis type physical humor. I get the feeling we are supposed to know him and I get the impression he is a mentalist of some kind? Maybe performing in Las Vegas or New York? I could be wrong, but that's the impression I get.
