What's Going On is such a beautiful classic. It's beyond the rating of "classic"....Marvin channelled something special, for sure. "limited" technology, yet warm, celestial, analog sounds. Profusion of technology has increased output of sound, I'll say that much. It's a sign of the times that nobody is writing music and messages like this anymore.

This song is a masterpiece.....However why oh why did Marvin make it only 1.42 mins??!!!
It just gets abruptly cut in the middle...and I think it's a shame as it is the best song on the album.....:(

What's Going On is the greatest album ever! I grew up listening to this album and it still brings love, joy, happiness, sadness, family unity, and love for humanity. Marvin Gaye was my favorite singer and i will love and miss him forever. His message of love and unity will never die! God is good for giving us Marvin Pentz Gaye, Jr.

This is one of the most beautifully written songs eva. I mean Marvin was and still is a direct connection with the essence of God... all the true musicians had/have it... from Sam Cooke, to Marvin Gaye, to Teddy Pendergrass, to Johnnie Taylor, to Willie Hutch, to David Ruffin, and the list goes on. These iconic symbols of musicianship will neva be forgotten... wish my generation of artists would even render somethin as half this relevant.
