Too bad the 5 feet 3, pointy haired, big-ass foreheaded Vegeta came and brought DBZ with him, which was full of violence and senseless rivary. Goku lost his innocence and virginity when he met that jerk. >:(

I appreciate that there's more martial arts in the fighting in DB compared to DBZ. By that point it was all about who had the biggest fireball and could flicker around fastest.
@zeromaruv, already told you, anime translates to cartoon, anime is the japanese word for cartoon, anime means cartoon, anything that is animation is a cartoon, no matter what country it's from.
@marplatense31 anime is in a league of its own compared to cartoons so i think anime has very specific differences compared to cartoons. The biggest one is pretty much have a storyline where as cartoons have random episodes of anything.

@marplatense31 Well i never said that not having a story is bad for a cartoon or anime, but it is a plus for sure. Especially for an anime like Dragonball which has a very extensive storyline which goes on to DBZ and GT but i dont really like GT lol.
@Sc0ttyz23, well, technically the Dragon Ball tv series was based off a comic book series and the comics never changed the name to Dragon Ball Z, it was still Dragon Bal... in japan anyway, the english translation of the comics did change the name of the second half to Dragon Ball Z because of the tv series.
Fun fact!!!; Did you know dragon ball was originally going to be a comedy,but they changed it.
