Use an A clarinet next time.

The whole piece is a high step too high. It loses too much when it's on the wrong horn.

Also - slow down. It's not a technical exercise in speed. Hopefully, your interpretation will mature as you get older and understand the piece better.

Listen to more Spanish music my friend... You are obviously VERY young and talented but this performance is much to staccato and chirpy. It does need more soul, feeling and refinement.

But I guess musical maturity comes with age. Bravo, and I LOVED the intensity of the flutter at the end.

That was written for the A clarinet, my friend. Why are you playing it on the Bb? Also, it's ok to show some more soul in the opening. It's not all about fingers. And it sometimes sounded like you thought you were

playing Mozart.

This piece must be played with a Clarinet in A. Anyway, you have a great technique in your fingers, but you need to express the music of falla. The rythm is very fast, you should reduce it.

nice response for altissimo, but it sounded slightly shrieky....

better than me, i just play the altissimos beautifully but often don't get a response when coming from a lower note.

I think "Hommage a Manuel de Falla by Bela Kovacs" is for A clarinet, not for B flat.

It doesn't matter if you transpose the piece. As long as it's played in the right key, any instrument can play it.

I'm a young clarinettist too (14), just performed my debut recital, and I know the amount of work that gets put into this. I think you're doing an incredible job, to be working so hard and sounding so incredible as a result.

I do have a question though. Isn't it bad to practice more right before a recital? I've heard that you shouldn't practice so hard right up to the date. What do you think?
