vtec was created in the early to mid 80's, the goal of vtec was that 100hp per liter ratio that most (stock) hondas have. thats why the CRX was soooo popular in its hay day. for idiots that ratio is ur stock b16 has 160hp

Actually - very few cars get to 60 in just 4.0 seconds. And even fewer still back in 1991. The last generation NSX with the 3.2 litre 290 h.p engine took - on a good day - about 4.5 seconds to reach 60. But usually it took about 4.8 seconds. Which is still fast. @megaman2000 when you hit the gas more to acc. more in ANY car the oil pressure goes up accordingly to supply the engine with proper lubercation as cams, rods, valves spin or bump faster. especially when you floor it the oil pressure goes wayy up.
im not to sure about the NSX, but im pretty sure because majority of the VTEC motors, the cams open up at around 5,000 RPM, so im guessing they want to get most out of the gear as they could?, just a guess
with this gearing the car would drop out of vtec when you shift at redline. you shoudl try to drop to just above vtec engagment idealy so at to keep in the power band

it was just as fast as 3000gt vr4 300zx tt and rx7 turbo wich is what it competied aginst 0-60 around 5.5 and 14 second quarter miles

yeah but the nsx was built to go 0-60 in the time it does.. the cadillac that goes in 3.7 wont get passed 100000 miles without some serious problems. they didnt beef up anything but the moter, so the car cant handle the engine.

Ah, I love Honda engines, had few myself inc. JDM Prelude H22A and B18C4 in a 5-door Civic. It's a real shame Honda doesn't make any fairly inexpensive RWD or AWD cars. Since I've got AWDs I can't imagine going back to front wheel drive..

An NSX may beat a viper F40 etc on a very small tight track, on any bigger track it will get out gunned.
I saw somebody mention that the viper isn't track focused... Honestly? Ever heard of the ACR viper?? the one which is specifically track focused... Apparently not.

um... Yes it would because the Honda NSX is a track focused car. Cars like the Dodge Viper, and the Lamborghini's aren't track focused cars. They are mostly suited for luxury, and speed. But on the track the Honda NSX will shine, and it's much faster than the others in the corners. That's why it's faster than the others. Do a Search on YouTube For Type R Legend. The NSX Type R, Beat a Viper RT/10 & a Ferrari 456GT. & Surprisingly It Even Lined up with a Ferrari F40.

Actually - very few cars get to 60 in just 4.0 seconds. And even fewer still back in 1991. The last generation NSX with the 3.2 litre 290 h.p engine took - on a good day - about 4.5 seconds to reach 60. But usually it took about 4.8 seconds. Which is still fast. We're just spoiled these days. When you can buy a Cadillac that gets to 60 in UNDER 4.0 seconds - you know times have changed!! Thanks for posting a message. CanadaCraig

@megaman2000 when you hit the gas more to acc. more in ANY car the oil pressure goes up accordingly to supply the engine with proper lubercation as cams, rods, valves spin or bump faster. especially when you floor it the oil pressure goes wayy up.

im not to sure about the NSX, but im pretty sure because majority of the VTEC motors, the cams open up at around 5,000 RPM, so im guessing they want to get most out of the gear as they could?, just a guess

with this gearing the car would drop out of vtec when you shift at redline. you shoudl try to drop to just above vtec engagment idealy so at to keep in the power band
