Thank you for posting ma'am. I will be going/working to the Naval Hospital there soon and I've only heard good things about it. I know my housing won't be the same in the barracks but from your experience, what is the city like?

Hi! Great video of the housing! My husband is in the navy and we just got orders to Yokosuka Japan. Did you bring your kitty from the US? (He is super cute by the way) Was it hard to get a cat over there, if you brought him over? Is it a pretty cool town? We have never been to Japan and we are pretty excited but nervous too. Do a lot of people around there speak english? Is it hard to get around if you dont have a car? Sorry so many questions, just thought since you were there you could help.TY

But we can not see

inside of apartment on base.

yes there is lots of housing there if your going you are lucky it is amazing

Thank you so much for posting this! I arrived in Yokosuka 30 years ago today and was feeling nostalgic when I came across this. We lived in Rokuban tower and this is our exact layout, except we didn't have a pass-through from the kitchen. Believe it or not, I managed to put a little sewing room in the pantry in the kitchen.

lol I'm wondering the same thing mrszanoleti. also, how hard is it to get all of your stuff moved over there? Does it take a long time? I've never moved internationally and want to know as much as I can about it. Is there certain things you can not take?

It isn't too hard to get your things moved over here... It did take about 2 months or so for all of our things to get here...

2 months longer than it took you to get there? so you waited that long for it, or did it make it over there by the time you got housing?

Well, We got here in August of 08. And Our things got here in Jan of 09

But it takes about two months from the time that you sign up to get your things moved over here...

We didn't really have too much... we were just starting out so we bought our bed and furniture and everything here.

And the rest of the things that came were like Wedding gifts and Clothes Etc.

So it wasn't too bad

This video is so helpful, you might be about the only person, on the web with actual footage of a yokosuka high rise, I was wondering is there anyway you might be able to find out dimensions to the apartment, you know the bedrooms, and living room, again thanks for the vid.

Thanks so much for the video! We are moving there soon and going to be in a 2 bedroom highrise and this video has made me feel so much better! Oh, btw, whats the door in the master bedroom for? Is it another exit/entry way?
