Ehrman is selling his book..Jesus has 3,992 words in Mark. We know from the manuscripts that 99.7% of the manusript is accurate. We know what Jesus said. The 0.7% in question does not change the meaning of the manuscript. Erhman also does not believe there an afterlife (see God's Problems, p. 193) therefore, Erhman is mislead from the biblical truth and is probably deluded by some evil spirits. Especially since he now feeds the Muslims to deny the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

@rapesauceCF In the Quran Surah 19:28. The writter confuses Mary (Miriam in Hebrew & Quran) with Miriam in the Old Testament, the sister of Aaron and Moses. Muslims have tried to get round this by saying that it meant Jews are referring to their ancestors this idea is completely wrong as Jews never thought as their ancestors as brothers or sisters. Miriam was of the line of Levi and Mary was the line of Judah.
The writter confused the two different people who share the same name.

@rapesauceCF What I find interesting is that there is not much "theology" in the Quran. There is very little understanding about God, it my way of thinking it is more of a legalistic system rather than a theological system.
It also borrows from Gnostic writings such as the Gospel of Judas and nativity Gnostic writings. And the references it says it takes from the Bible are completely wrong or just brushed over showing lack of understanding and first hand knowledge.

There proof someone added later to the Quran after Muhammad was long dead for political reasons. Quran 17:1 says Muhammad went to the Mosque in Jerusalem, which wasn't built while he was alive! It wasn't finished in building until 705 AD!

This video is misleading. Who ever edited this video made Bart Ehram repeat many times 2:25 in to say "We don't have the originals". That goes for every book from antiquity, what we do have is a vast sea of manuscripts which confirm the Bible we have today is the same as it was in the 1st century written 20-40 years from the events described by eye witnesses
You don't have the originals of the Quran either and that is from the medievel period! The earliest Quran is nothing like the modern Quran

@a Ur own authentic islamic sources state that the Quran had also variances in manuscripts and even missing verses & chapters thats why Uthman standardized one version of the Quran & ordered all variants to be burnt.. there were enough variances in the manuscripts of the Quran. When the scientific method (which includes the social sciences) became the norm, religions lost their 'authority' - their truth claims were shown to be culturally invented (Noah's ark, supernaturalism etc). If one were looking for a hallmark on a shard of pottery from the antiquities maybe this line of reasoning would have merit. But aside from that, this is just the atypical apologetic banter that keeps the likes of the Erhman's fresh on the lecture circuit. The earliest manuscripts, with linear proximity of less than a hundred years clearly attest the interpretive accuracy of the New testament. the inaccuracies common in these fallacious assertions are abundant also in the Koran.

will i be given a second chance or what will happen to me? does any muslim know for sure what will happen when we die? there is nothing as sure as death, it is a journey we make and not return. i will like to have some sort of guarantee that when i die i will be in paradise, without me commiting any murder in this life. Ehrman is an unmitigated fraud. His so-called "research into the discrepancies and contradictions" of the Christian scriptures is nothing more than a warmed-over retread of the higher criticism of the German schools of the 18th and 19th century. This leads me to believe that those who now hail Ehrman's banal rehashing of an outdated philology as fascinating and seminal are either disingenuous haters or intellectually bankrupt poseurs suffering from a bad case of scholarly amnesia.

May I suggest you google the skeptics annotated bible/quran/or The Book of mormon which will show you in the words of the text how all are laced with contradictions. @tadpoleposition Don't kid yourself most of what you mentioned has been done after the fact via Hadiths...If he was so brilliant then the Saudis would open up Medina & Mecca for investigation to show the world just how "perfect" Muhammad was. My guess like is the same as many other scholars he was influenced/taught by someone probably when he was gone to his special cave. Islam is like all other religions/mythologies is a human creation. God exist in the mind of humans nowhere else.

In fact, no group of men could've done what He did. The Islamic Empire began with one man. Muhammad (peace be upon Him) was not the only one in his time who shunned the idolatry of the pagan Arabs. History records many others who held firm to pure monotheism. Salman al-Farsi, and Abu Dhar Al-Ghafari are a couple names that come to mind. The reason our history seems so biased is because the other nations tend to want to forget what became of them after the rule of Islam was established.

Ehrman is selling his book..Jesus has 3,992 words in Mark. We know from the manuscripts that 99.7% of the manusript is accurate. We know what Jesus said. The 0.7% in question does not change the meaning of the manuscript. Erhman also does not believe there an afterlife (see God's Problems, p. 193) therefore, Erhman is mislead from the biblical truth and is probably deluded by some evil spirits. Especially since he now feeds the Muslims to deny the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Most biblical scholars agree that this was done, most modern bibles include footnotes to the effect that these verses are not in the original.
Some of these additions are of crucial importance - not just mistakes but 'improvements' to the text...

@white I think the case is obvious. The ORIGINAL was LOST. What you have is a fabrication, a corrupted form. If the ORIGINAL map is lost, you are lost. It's a simple case for anyone uses his mind and reason. Compare gospel of John to the other 3. Compare the old KJV with the RSV where the scholars found 300 changes; they REMOVED verses such as the end of Mark and 1 John 5:7-8. The scribes were corrupted as Jeremiah 8:8 told us. Try to read the Qur'an and you will see a Book of God means.

The book of mormon has more truth than the quran does. It could easily restore christian beliefs. The koran is designed to make people NOT believe in jesus christ as the son of God. MORMONS do have that part mr. muslim. We may not have the genetic information yet, but time may tell. btw, Is this the reason why muslims hid the body of joseph from israel so we couldn't prove our lineage as a house of isael? @DraconisRex My book of Mormon tells me Jesus was on earth. Born of a virgin, a son of God. And outlines the plan of salvation. It also suggests a lineage to israel via judha and joseph. It reemploys the 10 commandments, faith in God, Baptism and suggests that personal revelation can come through the holy ghost. It suggests other holy books are coming and other prophets would speak.

@1966, Only about 1-2% of the human race is indwelt by the Spirit of Christ. Yet about 33% of the world claims a relationship with Christ. Meaning, most of Christendom is NOT saved. They are NOT indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and still belong to satan like the rest of the unsaved world (the 98-99%). The Bible calls them 'tares' (Mat 13). I call them church weeds. @1966, Satan is a spirit being, just as the fallen angels. We cannot 'see' them with our physical eyes. But, we can witness the damage they cause by the amount of sin in the world. Satan, the antichrist, was already in the world before the Bible was completed in about 95 AD. We read about this in 1 John 4:3. The Lord Jesus Christ, apart from the Creation, is hidden from view from the average Joe. Just as the Lord only revealed Himself to certain Witnesses after His resurrection, so it is today.

@WitnessoftheTruth he is the one who made it possible for me to see his coming in the clouds praise God for his glory. and all those who oppose the true GOD and SERVE a LESSER god(angle) the spelling is not wrong,that's what he is looking for My God told it all and he was not able to change one tittle of the word. so he pretended to be GOD and he has deceived many.just as he did in heaven,BUT NOMORE DISSENTION THIS IS THE LAST STOP that same antichrist system(greed and money ) has killed him

@1966, Satan was bound during the Church Age (0033-1988), although he was still able to seed the churches with weeds. Folks who APPEAR to belong, but are counterfiets. Satan already owned the world. Satan's big desire was to be AS God, to be worshipped. The Lord loosed satan for a 'little season',and installed him in the local congregations for the Great Tribulation, the FINAL 23 years of earth's history. Of which 22 years and 3 months have already expired. Satan RULES in the local churches.

@WitnessoftheTruth when jesus was here on this earth the first time, he said he cast out demons by the finger of GOD,and that satans kingdom was not divided, BUT I TELL YOU NOW BY THAT SAME AUTHORITY THAT HIS KINGDOM IS DIVIDED AND THERE IS DISSENTION IN HIS RANKS.I give GOD all the praise. OH how he tried to keep me from the power and knowledge od GOD.But I received the blessing, and my inheritance. God has made me a king in his kingdom, oh the glory.

@1966, Satan's dominion over the earth will end on May 21, 2011. The Day the Lord returns in FULL POWER and GLORY to Rapture His Chosen Ones. It is also the day of Judgment upon satan, and all of the 6.75+ billion followers of satan. Many posting on this very page. The destruction will last for 153 days, afterwhich the Lord will MELT this earth in a final show of force. Of course, the Eternal King only needs to speak the Words to make this happen. Pray the Lord redeems those whom He has Chosen

@1966, You used the right word: CHOSEN. Many folks think they can enter in to an eternal relationship with the Lord of their own free will. This is impossible, as the Lord CHOSE the Inheritors of His Kingdom, BEFORE the world began (II Tim 1:9-10; Eph 1:4-5; etc). If NOT CHOSEN, before the world began, a person has NO CHANCE of entering the Kingdom of God on the date of the Rapture, May 21, 2011. Christians, attempting to enter the Kingdom by their OWN efforts, will be left behind.
