Np. I enjoyed the video btw. One just knows they're going to run into a trivia question one day asking: "what is the most expensive painting ever sold?" Thanks for posting.
I can't believe that plain piece of crap "Number 19" by Mark Rothko sold for $72.8 million. So ridiculous. Surely even an amateur artist could pain just as well, and there absolutely no depth of expression of purpose to it what-so-ever.
I've always said that if ever I want to become a millionaire I would crap on a blank canvas and sell it for $60 million. (Sadly about hald a year ago someone in Europe stole my idea, and actually made a famous painting using feces).
Out of interest you idiot anyone can watch a youtube video. You have to admit that all that money being spent on teribble drawings that look like a little kid drew in class by pseudo-intellectuals to feel as if they have some prize possession should really be going to something else.
Art annoys me so much,,, i feel like a lot of these r just average paintings that any trained artist can do.....Look at the last one for example...its just a bunch of different color lines all thrown together for 140million!...i simply do not understand....if i did that ppl would laugh at me and give me 3 bucks for it, lets be real here
the list is wrong the painting of Pablo Picasso "Desnudo, hojas verdes y busto" was sold for 81 millions euros thats more or less 100 millions dollares .
Many would argue that art can't be defined. If that's the case, why even place a value on it? If the qualities of art are subjective, then my drawing of a stickman is worth $150 million.
these are, lets be honest crappy paintings valued more by how famous the artist is nothing to do with talent. if art was priced by real artistic accuracy and creativity i would be a millionnaire. bob ross did better paintings than these on the list
PS: That picture of "Massacre of the Innocents" by Peter Paul Rubens is not corrent. Rubens painted two versions, neither of which are the one shown.
