I hate it when adults do things like this. They got recess when they were kids, but now that they are all grown up, they can take it from us. Soon we won't get a summer break either "its origional perpose was so kids were off to help with crops, but kids don't need to do that anymore so they should be in school." well the people who are saying this never had to help with crops either, but they still had summer break. Being a kid is supposed to be fun, we shouldn't have to fight for that.
@klizzard359 When I was a kid is when it just started getting bad. Back in fourth fith or sixth, one of those as each segments changed building. Killed fell of this swing thing, broke his arm, school had it removed. It wasn't really even broken, he just lost his grip but eh. Now I'm finally out and seems things are getting worse.
No recess..parents are terrible. And these lawyers are worse.
man kids used to play in empty lots with sharp rocks and bits of glass and now you can't even have a decent playground, i grew up with a BA wooden fort kinda playground and if you had an accident you went to the nurse and got on with your life, kids are so sheltered these days.
It seems that you can sue for anything these days,for being offended, the truth is life is offensive as well as dangerous, that is just how it is.
I want my teeter totter back. I like dangerous stuff. it teaches you about reality & how not to get hurt again in the future . we should not have to change the whole society because of a few retards that should not be alive anyway's.
Dang back when I was in elementary school this stuff never happened. We played it rough during recess....scraped knees, cuts, and big bruises from the playground were just consitered part of being a kid. You went to the nurse, she patched you up, then you went back out to play. It wasn't a big deal...
@klizzard359 your school had a nurse? we didn't...only time anyone had to go anywhere was when some girl busted her head open because she ran into a wall...and she probably only went because it effected her school work...Some of us got broken bones and had to stay until either lunch break or the end of the day before we could go anywhere
@ArielDarkBlade69 Our nurse was for band-aids, checking for lice, and giving sick kids a place to puke- anything more than that was your parent's problem.
@klizzard359 Never had that. We got cut, we went to the office for a bandage. Same for throwing up. And a nurse from the walk in clinic or whatever would come for lice, ears and eyes once a year or so.
@klizzard359 well i appreciated it...i was a puke can once...some kid thought hed try and be cool and take all his pills at once. He killed my favourite outfit :(
"The position we have now reached is this: starting from the State, we try to remedy the failures of all the families, all the nurseries, all the schools, all the workshops, all the secondary institutions that once had some authority of their own. Everything is ultimately brought into the Law Courts. We are trying to stop the leak at the other end." -- GK Chesterton

@SpraxIAKS Thats sad. :(
Things aren't even being removed because they're "dangerous"- they're being removed because schools are now terrified of lawsuits.

@arthur420albert Even though most lawyers are Republican?
SexSteakSoda 1 year ago
@SexSteakSoda Actually, most lawyers who file frivolous lawsuits are Democrats. Why else are Democrats opposed to tort reform?

So playgrounds are shut down for being dangerous. Well, watch those same lawyers sue schools for making kids fat because there wasn't a playground.
