I agree that it's not their job to invest in alternative fuels, but it'll soon enough be in their best interest to do so.

And the drilling stopped for environmental protection, that isn't a reasonable solution.

I have no problem with the arguments, but there is no reason to lie about profit margins:

A 17% profit increase doesn't seem too flat to me...

There is no capitalism or "free market" because the oil companies are working together to keep the price of gas high and make high profits.  This is called collusion. Collusion is a crime. And I am outraged everytime I fill up with gas; $88 bucks for 300 miles just this morning. I just recently had some claims denied by my insurance, and I was pissed about it too. But, I didn't whine and cry about it, and demand that the government take care of me; I can take care of myself without a socialist government capping what I can and can't achieve.

Exxon/Mobil pays the government 45% in tax, employs hundreds of thousands of people many of whom have pensions and health insurance. Isn't that good?
