What's the point of increasing the jail population if the counseling and rehabilitation services aren't there to prevent relapses, etc. You have to increase funding in Mississippi to solve crime, not create a show for the rest of the nation

As a resident of the Jackson Metro Area I am glad that we finally have a mayor who is willing to put his career and safety on the line to fight the crime which plagues our city. Our City Council members are a joke and the police dept is so underfunded that they are unable to perfom there job effectively. i just hope that the mayor can draw enough attention to our city to possibly recieve federal funds to assist him. Crime has skyrocketed under Melton. Crime is up, sales tax revenue is down, and the budget is out of balance. The man is a failure in every aspect of being a mayor. It's interesting you bring up federal funds. He's gonna have a hell of a time obtaining those since he snuck a gun into Bennie Thompson's office then accused him of trying to "set him up" when he got searched at the airport. That's a shame because Bennie is now chairman of Homeland Security and could definitely get funds.

1-City is in debt, hurting police, everybody
2-Crime has shot up 42% in the city, one man can't solve it, don't be naive
3-As head of MBN drug confisications went way down
Somebody who hates government can't run it
