  • this song + DMT = heaven

  • its like a light at the end of the tunnel, sheer brilliance !

  • What a dissapointment this album was. WTF happened to Present Tense and Staircase? Those few unreleased tracks would of made this album as good as any other.

  • Fck...I wanna cry.

  • Trumpets are absolutely beautiful in this song...this song alone makes King of Limbs worth buying..classic.

  • No words can express the beauty of this song, my friends...

  • deadmau5 remake of this is also pretty epic.

  • I don't get why so many people hate this album. It's a lot like Kid A (most of it is electronically created), and everyone seems to love that one. While this album is not their best release, I still think it's an amazing album that needs to be appreciated more.

Radiohead has never made a bad album before, and I doubt they ever will. That's how great of a band they are; they go through so many changes, yet they never lose their ability to create incredible music.

  • @TheAndrewj96 I think the novelty of Kid A (marketing/complete change of sound from OKC) as well as its quality propelled it into its status. I guess the criticism with TKOL was that it wasn't that groundbreaking/as 'good'' as their apparent magnum opi? Regardless I love TKOL. I think it grew on most, if not all of its listeners.

  • Lyrics for beginning:

    aaaaAAAAAA-

  • thom understands...

  • Hey dudes check this out /watch?v=zW9gGqITvhk - It's a fanmade music video for 'Codex' made by me and two mates.

  • Reminds me of the Golden Gate.

  • This makes me depressed. But in a good way.Does that make sense?

  • @CagedInWild No, but stuff making sense is no fun. So it's a good thing that it doesn't. :) Actually... I think people use the word 'depressed' like this a lot whereas it's actually a completely different feeling. Something like melancholic beauty, a kind of "warm from the cold" feeling? Something like that, maybe.

  • This is such an addictive song...<3

  • Does anybody else have to pay over 300 a ticket?

  • @jmeezypeezy Not if you get them right when they go on sale, and not when they're sold out and bought from a reseller.

  • This is so beautiful. I can't even believe someone would dislike this.

  • The beginning of this song always gets me.

  • This is music that makes you feel what the song want to express. Wow. I love it.

  • Epic...........

  • Sounds like Pyramid Song!! :D

  • The Glove - A Blues In Drag > this

  • those sounds in the background remind me of the sound of tinkling bells in the wind

  • Haunting and beautiful

  • deadmau5 cover is awesome too

  • @LeandroMixKH well, he just made an instrumental version :x. It's not that kick ass IMO

  • Chuck :)

    btw, great track

  • love

  • This song is amazing and so are Radiohead <3<3<3

  • Fuck you liam gallagher

  • Radiohead *-*

  • love love love radiohead! ❤

  • Every time I listen to a radiohead song I think it's the best song of all time

  • Chuck!!

  • Is this about suicide?

  • @iAreRisingSun2 I dunno, I also thought the same... I like to think it is though.

  • @iAreRisingSun2 doubt it.

  • @iAreRisingSun2 its about memory, and comfort in memory. but thats just what i think.

  • Someone top them! theyll be breakingup soon a la REM.

  • sign of tha timmyz

  • This song is ....ugh...amazing.

  • @aknoizeofficial psychoanalysis pertains to psychology, not music genres. By the way, Yorke sounds like the dude from Gorillaz.

  • @eyesgIazed damon albarn, and yeah kinda!

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever written.

  • cd player in the car is dead...I haven't heard this in months either...I think the Spring 2012 concert might just DO WONDERS!!! If you think about it, How could They ever do wrong?

  • Deadmau5 got me here...

  • Whenever im sad i come to this song! :...(

But that then turns into this... :)

    !

  • great song,, didnt liked the last album, just this song

  • i have the CD Tkol.. but i always go here to get my contribute with the views

  • they could've made 3:35 ten minutes long and i wouldn't have noticed.

  • Cool song, but kind of misses the spot for me-emotionally that is.

  • Oh god, this is the Radiohead i love :'D I'm literally crying right now. This is fucking brilliant <3 Thom Yorke is a genius

  • wwwgreatbuyoutletscom wwwtopfuelsavercom the cloud had drawn away again; the rays of the sun once more burned the wide landscape, and as the small party walked out from under the shade of the tees the dead-still heat was heavy as lead; the sweat sprang out on their faces and their eyelids smarted. On the narrow path they had to go one by one, the old lord stepping along first, all black, and the footman, in his bright livery, bringing up the rear.

  • wrong lyrics though:

line 6: flying to the side

  • @Braxium1 copied from "the universal sight"

    maybe Thom wrote it wrongly..

  • @KidArome - it's fantasized - you can hear the z sound if you listen carefully

  • @CNorrisBiggestFan That would be an American pronunciation/spelling, not a British one.

  • If you read the entirety of The Universal Sigh there are actually alternate lyrics...

  • @Braxium1 The actual lyric is "Fanticide".

  • play pyramid song right after this song, and see that Radiohead regrets to say the things in this song :D

  • Play, press repeat, play, press repeat, play press repeat, play, press repeat...

  • @CarliaRay or just get a replay youtube extension/userscript

  • @DanYul55 those exist?

  • @palfguy yepp, i have Youtube Video Replay addon for Firefox, im sure there's similar sorts for every other browser (apart from maybe IE, but lol that's IE)

  • @CarliaRay type in repeat after youtube in the url and then it never stopsssss

  • shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... just listen

  • Definitivamente no me acaba de gustar el nuevo Album, parece que se han olvidado de las guitarras y han exagerado en el uso de los sintetizadores, YA BASTA DE EXPERIMENTOS THOM,

  • @RichardBrehme Radiohead, The Strokes, The Killers, and The Mars Volta have put out the best music of the century

  • @arinross523 Radiohead I agree with to certain extent - but there are much better artists IMO not in the charts.

  • @dunning1977 much better? Hmm, I can't imagine any band being MUCH better than Radiohead? They are at too high of a level. Who weere u thinking exactly? I think Pink Floyd is better than them, and that might be all. There are bands I like more than Radiohead, but as far as talent goes PInk Floyd and The Beatles, and prob Led Zepplin are the only bands I can think of who are more talented, and probably the STones

  • @arinross523 @dunning1977, from my point of vew, I'm not sure if you can compare Pink Floyd with Radiohead, both are amazing in different ways. Anyway, as Arthur Rubinstein said: "there are no better musicians than others, just different points of vew", and this both are from very different "schools". It's like saying who's better, Bach or Beethoven, you can't compare.

  • @mdiacoc I don't know. I have the idea that there are better musicians. I mean to say that , as an example, Kelly Clarkson and The Strokes are of the same talent, that The Strokes aren't better, but simply of different points of view, then I'd say u were lying or just a fucking dipshit with no taste: not you, just in general. But on the other hand, I do see what u r saying about Pink Floyd and Radiohead - I would just call Pink Floyd the pioneers, as they were the trailblazers for Radiohead.

  • 1.40 'Just dry hump flies'? Thom you sick, sick bastard.

Yes, I know thats not the actual lyrics.

And yes, this is an utterly breath-taking piece of music.

  • shhhhh

    just listen to the music

  • this is beautiful, perfect for the king of limbs

  • I have been trying to get into radiohead for a long time and this was the 6th song i listened to today and this is the one that made me an offical radiohead fan! im going continue to get high and drink and listen to radiohead all night!

  • reminds me of brian eno. funny how critics will hate one style of music and love another one that's very, very similar

  • Does anyone know why we hear Thom Yorke making a noise at the beginning 0:00-0:03?

I think it's great quip to the song, but anyone have any thoughts about it?

  • @VanillaSnow23 Well, just being introspective here, but I have a feeling it relates to the first two verses of the lyrics. That beginning sound is as if he was falling off of the edge of a cliff, and the sudden stop was him hitting the bottom. "Sleight of hand, jump off the end." And the line, "The water's clear and innocent," could mean that he's finally at peace and realized things aren't as bad as everyone says. But, just my take.

  • @MuzicLyricVideoz brillaint interpretation.

  • radiohead en mexico 17 de abril en el foro sol a huevoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • best song on king of limbs. period.

  • Thanks for posting!

  • Piano is possibly the best musical instrument compared to the amazing sound of a voice

  • You know you are in the right comment section when you see references to Mogwai and deadmau5 from a Radiohead song.

  • the horn section makes me think they've been listening to Mogwai EP.

  • best song on tkol this

  • I love this song, I hope they make a video for it. I think it would be similar to the Pyramid Song video considering the sound and lyrics

  • I am fucking crying :(

  • @Nirvaaanaa i don't know why so many people like this

  • @x3sweeneyx3 you just wasted your time

  • holy fuck this song... omg xD

  • holy shit

  • Who the fuck is Deadmas5?

  • This song has the power to end wars.

  • paints such picture. :')

  • This.

  • quite a unique album

  • Meh :/

And thats saying allot I've always loved radiohead but definitely not this album

  • I've been a fan of Radiohead longer than I have been a fan of deadmau5, but I love them both. On twitter deadmau5 said that codex was a personal favorite of his. Normally I don't take too kindly to Radiohead covers, but I enjoy deadmau5's cover very much and I think it does this song justice. Radiohead fans should give it a listen before trashing deadmau5 for no good reason!

  • @Chickengirl005 I'm tired of that too. I have the Codex cover up on my channel and people just bitch and moan

  • @Chickengirl005 Probably one of the best, most open minded and thought out comments I have ever read. I'm glad to see Radiohead fans without pretentious attitude.

  • Are there still clear lakes somwhere? I need to find one because I am not clear about anything any more. Maybe if I could jump into one I could feel clear again. Can someone help me?

I fear also for the dragonflies.

  • This song should be know a lot more its one of their best by far

  • This song has the power to end wars.

  • why do people care? deadmau5 has a great taste in music and he's introducing more people to fantastic bands like Radiohead? Stop being such fucking hipsters, they aren't your own personal band. Some Radiohead fans really piss me the fuck off, which is a shame because I really love Radiohead. deadmau5 is actually a very good and still rising electronic producer. He is obviously a lot more upbeat than Radiohead but you can actually here a strong Radiohead influence in his music. Give him a break.

  • Bahahaha, so many people hating on Deadmau5 for making a cover on this, be happy more people are going to listen to this song because of Deadmau5 :P And Deadmau5's cover is pretty good.

  • thnx deadmau5 :D

  • This song has the power the end wars.

  • Para mim,a melhor música(Codex) do disco.

  • i am 47 and think this the greatest album

  • i fucking love this song

  • i love radiohead, but they are just so fucking depressing

  • This song with a doubt inspires more emotion in me then any other thing ever recorded. The simplicity is so emotive. I challenge any TKOL haters to listen to this and deny loving it.

  • Fuck Deadmau5, if you don't know who he is, in my opinion you're better off that way.

  • Who the hell is Deadmau5

  • man i need drugs

  • man i love these peoplecommening onthis kinda music.. so nice:)

  • This song will be the national anthem of my new planet...

  • @MrT0xicfly true one of them

  • Its a track with a mixed mood. Serene tranquility and meloncholy at the same time. sounds pretentious but noboby but radiohead can make me feel this way.

  • the good times, the bad times, this song has been my theme.

  • It's an insult to even call these guys a band anymore. They are on a different level. This song is freaking art.

  • @aham1787

This song is a, I have to use German here, "mysthisches Geheimnis".

  • @aham1787 agreed man. they're getting better with every album they take out...they freak me out sometimes...cause they're just too good.

  • @aham1787 As is Lotus Flower my friend, as is Lotus Flower. :)

  • @aham1787 haha theve been on that level for quite a while now. they are past art. they are

  • fuckin flying thru space

  • pink sunset at a beach, all alone, with this song playing. get that memory in my mind every time i hear this. so calm...synchronized to my heartbeat...helping me breath.....

  • After listening to this, I ran around the house for 15 minutes for no reason whatsoever. Made me feel so free.

  • wow, nice .. anything to do with Codex ALIMENTARIUS

  • fuck deadmaus, Chuck brought me here

  • Wow Thom Yorke is a fuckin genius

  • laying in bed with my boyfriend...after this song came on, we looked at each other in an amazing new way...

  • Radiohead brought me here. Fuck the rest.

  • I've said it before, I'll say it now, and i'll likely have to say it again.

    FUCK deadmau5.

  • i knew radiohead b4 deadmau5 even started retards

  • @toggr1 So did most of the world. What's your point?

  • @toggr1 I'm so impressed.

  • @AngrySwampManStudios should be bitch

  • @toggr1 Well I'm not. Infact noone is.

  • if deadmau5 is the reason why you discovered radiohead, you need to get out of your house more

  • @bayersauce not everyone has the fortune of discovering Radiohead early on like us. If they like what they hear, then great they're being exposed to good music and giving it the credit it deserves. deadmau5 is a big fan of Radiohead, he only wants to pay his respect and he's done well.

  • @bayersauce i dont think getting out of your house more will aid to you discovering radiohead....

  • @bayersauce Deadmau5 just helps me to discover Moar songs from already great artists!

  • @bayersauce agreed

  • @bayersauce Or onto the internet more.. being out of the house won't help you find Radiohead lol, but srsly, Thom is a genius <3

  • @TheDeadm0use we must go to the 3rd layer of the intorwebs!! i agree. thom yorke gives me musical manboners

  • good song to learn for beginner piano players...

  • i love the lyrics of this particular song, so much can be said with so little

    thanks KidArome thanks Radiohead!!!

  • I love how every Radiohead song, Flaming Lips song and Pink Floyd song... are my favorite songs...

  • up their with faust arp and paranoid android :)

  • codex alimentarius

  • best song after weird fishes:)
