You are twisting words in the Quran to mean something they don't.. you are tampering with the Quran. In Sahih Muslim book 004 number 2127 ..Muhammad struck Aisha on the chest which caused her much pain...If Muhammad struck Aisha, and he is the example, then why are you trying to twist words out of the true meaning from within the context of sura 4:34..If Muhammad didn't see anything wrong with striking Aisha, then certainly he didn't see anything wrong in beating your wife as in surah 4:34.

I own a Quran and am finding Many different translations in the Quran...I have found some words to not even have the same meaning?? I believe sura 4:34 means beat them lightly. The word you are using depends on the meaning within the context which is being read..The next sentence reads if they are obedient to you? How can a woman who has been seperated from her husband be obedient to him ,when she don't even live with him ? But if she is living with him, then she can choose to be obedient

There is no "lightly" in this verse. It has been added as a clarification to the word "beat" which most translations are using. However, the word "beat" is also inaccurate. This is the point I am trying to make with this video.

Well, if you're right, then there's some serious misinterpretation going on. Shouldn't this issue have been forseen and be prevented with more precise wording? On the part of man, yes, he can change the translation and interpretation, but the responsibility I argue would be on your God.
If we can equate laws of man with laws of God, then one small book seems woefully inadequate to guide all aspects of life. Our bad laws can cause plenty of trouble, but are changeable. A holy book... well.

The question should be, WHEN WAS THIS VERSE actually written? Wasn't it a few hundred years after Muhammad died based on oral traditions and written for it's time and from the earliest date Koran that can be used for evidence?

I know of two translations which do not use the term beat or even refer to violence. they are The Message translation from the monothist group and the reformist translation of the quran...I have both...no need for hadith...carry on with your great videos.

the arab language is complex. words have several different meanings.go open a dictionary for daraba and see how many definitions u get. so when people translate it words can get mistranslated. if you beleive in allah to find the right meaning like this brother/sister did then you can fix the errors of translaters did. most muslims just learn the arabic so they can read it from the source.
So all you need to open a dictionary and translate the way you feel is correct.... erm, I mean that ALLAH dictate you because you believe in him so hard that your feeling about the matter are no longer your feeling but what allah want you to do.

May Allah reward you for seeking the truth, what all Muslims are told to do, what Ibrahim and Muhammad did.
I'd also like to add that the word "Qawwamoona" doesn't mean superior but it meant in charge of, and responsible for, because the husband is responsible for taking care of and meeting the needs of the wife and children. he has no right to accuse her of anything if he does not pay for every one of her basic expenses - food, clothing, etc.

I have finally come across a translation of the Quran where the interpretation " beat them" has been totally rejected. It is called "The Sublime Quran" by Laleh Bakhtiar.

it does allow wife punishments..the prophet said a man has the duty to make sure his family is on the right path..he said to start hitting children who did not pray after the age of puberty..
"The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) commanded us to smack children for not praying when they reach the age of ten, but this should be the last resort, when all others have failed, and there should be no harshness in the hitting, and we must not hit the face"

Jesus is just saying the Law the was given to Moses. the Jews refer to it as "the Law of Moses."
Jesus came to shed light on the Law. He came to show that GOD is Merciful...and we should be as well. you know how it is, people want to apply the Scriptures they like...such as being vengeful...while forgetting to balance it with kindness and mercy which is what is really important. that is what Jesus, peace upon him, is explaining.

Hello lapce. Abraham, Moses, Jesus, peace be upon them WERE PROPHETS. They themselves knew how to pray because of their status. They prayed exactly the same way Muslims pray, and in fact they ALSO established an Oral Tradition for their followers. This was well established in the Bible and in fact the Jews also follow these methods of prayers - through their Oral Tradition. The Jewish scholars who kept and maintained that Oral Tradition were called the Pharisees. And while Jesus, pbuh...
And whle Jesus, pbuh, criticized the Pharisees because they did not practice what they preach, he made it clear for his followers that they were supposed to follow that Oral Tradition:
Matthew 23:1-3
Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. SO YOU MUST OBEY THEM AND DO EVERYTHING THEY TELL YOU. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach."
That is why the early followers of Jesus, pbuh, called themselves followers of the "Way" - which is actually synonymous with "Sunnah" - because they were practicing the religion according to the Sunnah of Jesus, pbuh. Unfortunately, after every prophet, they eventually messed up the prophets Sunnah.

Quran 19:59 "After them, He substituted generations who LOST the Physical Worship Prayers (Salat), and pursued their lusts. They will suffer the consequences."
Unfortunately, the "Christians" lost their Sunnah by choosing instead to follow the Sunnah of Paul, even though he clearly contradicted the teachings of Tawrat by violating the First and Most Important commandment - because even though the Injil has been changed, you STILL cannot find in it proof that Jesus, pbuh, claimed to be God or the Son of GOd or that he was a human sacrifice for everybody's sins. These teachings ALL originated with Paul's writings. They should have been rejected, (CONT)
Paul's writings should have been rejected just because of their idolatrous nature, as Allah SWT said in Revelation to Moses, pbuh:
Deuteronomy 13:1-5
"If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a miraculous sign or wonder, and if the sign or wonder of which he has spoken takes place, and he says, "Let us follow other gods" (gods you have not known, i.e. such as Jesus, pbuh) "and let us worship them,"
you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The LORD your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. It is the LORD your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. That prophet or dreamer must be put to death, because he preached rebellion against the LORD your God"
Instead of rejecting Paul, they accept his writings into their biblical canon. AstagfirAllah
1 small correction - the Jews ALMOST practice the same method of prayer as us through their Oral Tradition - it differs slightly in that they do not complete the Prostration (Sajda) as we do, and some of the verbal praises are only slightly different. But this was enough of a change to incur the anger of Allah enough to say that they had "lost" the Salat in the Quran.

Yes that is exactly what i believe too however a hadith say that God wanted us to pray fifty times a day :o but the Prophet prayed for it to be five and then God made it five.then that have to mean jesus and the other prophets prayed fifty times:p and that contradicts what Jesusisaprophet said.that all prophets prayed the same way. my relatives dont pray because they think they are supposed to pray five times and if they can it is not worth praying 3 or less times a day ..that is sad.. Selaam - I actually said they prayed the same way, but not the same number of times. The Jews have a 3 times daily prayer assigned. This number came from Moses. None of the other Jewish prophets had it changed for them, including Jesus, pbuh. It was changed for Muhammad SAS though. They are all 5 described in Quran.

The above times I took from the Submitters website, another Quran only sect. Just another proof, that when you follow Quran-only, there is disagreement on interpretation, which leads to many more sects. i like your reasoning. Allah does mention 5 times, i think once in the Quran...but other times he mentions 3 times, i think once, 4 times...and once He says especially don't miss the mid day prayer. in the Bible, the Prophet David said he prayed 7 times a day. lol

You are twisting words in the Quran to mean something they don't.. you are tampering with the Quran. In Sahih Muslim book 004 number 2127 ..Muhammad struck Aisha on the chest which caused her much pain...If Muhammad struck Aisha, and he is the example, then why are you trying to twist words out of the true meaning from within the context of sura 4:34..If Muhammad didn't see anything wrong with striking Aisha, then certainly he didn't see anything wrong in beating your wife as in surah 4:34.

I own a Quran and am finding Many different translations in the Quran...I have found some words to not even have the same meaning?? I believe sura 4:34 means beat them lightly. The word you are using depends on the meaning within the context which is being read..The next sentence reads if they are obedient to you? How can a woman who has been seperated from her husband be obedient to him ,when she don't even live with him ? But if she is living with him, then she can choose to be obedient

Moreover, the Koran goes on to state that if the woman later obeys the husband, he is not to "seek a way over" her. Well, how could this possibly be relevant if he is no longer with her as separation has occurred? He would, of course, still be with her if the primary word in question was translated as "beat."

The quran 4:34, commands to beat women that disobey their husband till they obey. Because in the same passage says: if they obey you, do not seek a way against them. It means the word [beat] meant to hit women till they obey.

Men are not allowed to hit women. 'idrib' is the word used in Arabic, which means 'to banish, to strike, to smite'. The root word is ‘drb’, not 'wkz' for ‘to strike’ as in Surah 28:15.
Moses banished a path in the sea for the Bani Israel: Surah 20:77, 26:63
As the Quran shows, when women are unwilling to submit to Allah we are to banish them, even divorce them if necessary. Surah 33:28, 66:5-6

There is no "lightly" in this verse. It has been added as a clarification to the word "beat" which most translations are using. However, the word "beat" is also inaccurate. This is the point I am trying to make with this video.

Well, if you're right, then there's some serious misinterpretation going on. Shouldn't this issue have been forseen and be prevented with more precise wording? On the part of man, yes, he can change the translation and interpretation, but the responsibility I argue would be on your God.
If we can equate laws of man with laws of God, then one small book seems woefully inadequate to guide all aspects of life. Our bad laws can cause plenty of trouble, but are changeable. A holy book... well.

The question should be, WHEN WAS THIS VERSE actually written? Wasn't it a few hundred years after Muhammad died based on oral traditions and written for it's time and from the earliest date Koran that can be used for evidence?
Though all these verses is biased toward the man, which can have how many wives? Though woman can only have one and he must be a muslim, where men can have 4 (Mo-13) & not muslim (Mo-one Jew) and as many "slaves" as his right hand can "steal", right?

the arab language is complex. words have several different meanings.go open a dictionary for daraba and see how many definitions u get. so when people translate it words can get mistranslated. if you beleive in allah to find the right meaning like this brother/sister did then you can fix the errors of translaters did. most muslims just learn the arabic so they can read it from the source.

I'd also like to add that the word "Qawwamoona" doesn't mean superior but it meant in charge of, and responsible for, because the husband is responsible for taking care of and meeting the needs of the wife and children. he has no right to accuse her of anything if he does not pay for every one of her basic expenses - food, clothing, etc.

When u have removed the beam from your own eye, explain to me what Lot and his daughters did after emigrating from the city of sin according to your Bible. And find me a verse in the Quran about stoning, will u?

what people get confuse about the Biblw is this..we christians follow the New testament not the OLD!! we have the old testament because it prophecies about the comming of the Messiah (Jesus) but we in no way follow the old testament anymore, only the Jews read and follows it..We christians accepted Jesus as our lord and savior, if u want to ask me anything ask me about the New testament not the mosianic laws the moses bestowed on his people to seperate himself from the pagans of his times!!

Thank you so much for this video. I am a young muslima (14 years old), but this verse 4:34 has been bugging me for a long time. I just couldn't believe that Allah would allow beating, so I thought the translation of the Quran was wrong. I should learn arabic and read the Quran in it's actual language :).

Hadiths contradict both themselves, the Quran and common sense.

Allah clearly says in the Quran that only He guides us. Surah 26:37
"You csannot guide the ones you love.
Allah is the only One who guides in accordance with His Will, an in accordance with HIs Knowledge of those who deserve the guidance.

also, Allah clearly says in the Quran that there shall be NO compulsion in religion.

and my mother and neighbour i once got mad at them i asked them why dont you two pray for Gods sake,they said : because we dont have the time to pray five times a day and we dont know arabic and dont have time to learn it..

I really liked it.. however something concerned me .. that jesus said moses law .. isnt moses law Allahs Law.?. he then tells us to not to believe in an eye for an eye etc,.. but be more nice .. ? why is Jesus saying the opposite of what moses said? Jesus is just saying the Law the was given to Moses. the Jews refer to it as "the Law of Moses."
Jesus came to shed light on the Law. He came to show that GOD is Merciful...and we should be as well. you know how it is, people want to apply the Scriptures they like...such as being vengeful...while forgetting to balance it with kindness and mercy which is what is really important. that is what Jesus, peace upon him, is explaining.

Hello lapce. Abraham, Moses, Jesus, peace be upon them WERE PROPHETS. They themselves knew how to pray because of their status. They prayed exactly the same way Muslims pray, and in fact they ALSO established an Oral Tradition for their followers. This was well established in the Bible and in fact the Jews also follow these methods of prayers - through their Oral Tradition. The Jewish scholars who kept and maintained that Oral Tradition were called the Pharisees. And while Jesus, pbuh...

That is why the early followers of Jesus, pbuh, called themselves followers of the "Way" - which is actually synonymous with "Sunnah" - because they were practicing the religion according to the Sunnah of Jesus, pbuh. Unfortunately, after every prophet, they eventually messed up the prophets Sunnah.

Quran 19:59 "After them, He substituted generations who LOST the Physical Worship Prayers (Salat), and pursued their lusts. They will suffer the consequences."

Unfortunately, the "Christians" lost their Sunnah by choosing instead to follow the Sunnah of Paul, even though he clearly contradicted the teachings of Tawrat by violating the First and Most Important commandment - because even though the Injil has been changed, you STILL cannot find in it proof that Jesus, pbuh, claimed to be God or the Son of GOd or that he was a human sacrifice for everybody's sins. 1 small correction - the Jews ALMOST practice the same method of prayer as us through their Oral Tradition - it differs slightly in that they do not complete the Prostration (Sajda) as we do, and some of the verbal praises are only slightly different. But this was enough of a change to incur the anger of Allah enough to say that they had "lost" the Salat in the Quran.

Om det skulle vara så att vi skulle be femtio gånger per dag så skulle inte ens Mohammad stoppa Gud från att beordra det och i en hadith står det att Mohammad bad om att det skulle bli fem gånger mindre böner så att det blev 5. Jag tror att bönen var menad som en ständig påminnelse till oss att vara tacksamma och rättfärdiga. Den är inte bara en ritual som skaffar oss pluspoäng om vi utför den exakta tidspunkter. Inte heller är den en ramsa att lära sig utantill utan att behöva förstå dess innebörd. Om du läser Koranen och gör ditt yttersta för att förstå den rätt så tror jag inte du behöver frukta. Yes that is exactly what i believe too however a hadith say that God wanted us to pray fifty times a day :o but the Prophet prayed for it to be five and then God made it five.then that have to mean jesus and the other prophets prayed fifty times:p and that contradicts what Jesusisaprophet said.that all prophets prayed the same way. my relatives dont pray because they think they are supposed to pray five times and if they can it is not worth praying 3 or less times a day ..that is sad.. Selaam - I actually said they prayed the same way, but not the same number of times. The Jews have a 3 times daily prayer assigned. This number came from Moses. None of the other Jewish prophets had it changed for them, including Jesus, pbuh. It was changed for Muhammad SAS though. They are all 5 described in Quran.
4:103 ...set up Regular Prayers: For such prayers are enjoined on believers at stated times.

(1) The Dawn Prayer is mentioned by name in 24:58. Before sunrise.
(2) The Noon Prayer is specified in 17:78. When the sun declines.
(3) The Afternoon Prayer is in 2:238. Midway between noon & sunset.
(4) The Sunset Prayer is mentioned in 11:114. Immediately after sunset.
(5) The Night Contact Prayer is in 11:114, and is mentioned by name in 24:58.

The above times I took from the Submitters website, another Quran only sect. Just another proof, that when you follow Quran-only, there is disagreement on interpretation, which leads to many more sects. That is a danger from which the Sunnah (i.e. the specific interpretation of Quran taught by the Prophet Muhammad SAS) protects.

the main reason i went out of sunniislam is because i always started to fight with my mother.she didnt agree with the things i learned in the hadiths etc.. also when the jehova´s witnesses came here .. she was positive about the bible .. she said .. It doesnt matter if it is a synagouge , a church , a mosque , a temple.they are all Gods houses as long as they worship one god . and when my aunt and my other aunt fought who was the best the sunni or the shia .. my mom said:I follow the lords word

Azir Directed me to this video. Information that has been posted seems to be correct. The word "which" has been misspelled as "witch". I reccomend you stay away from posting videos on topics such as Music being Haraam as that is a topic often argued by the experts and the Prophet said simply abstain from things that one is not sure of, as that is the safest way.

Madam, You see the problem is that it is a sin to wrongly promote ideas not fully backed up in the Quran. I am not asking you to play it safe, I'm simply saying, have some solid background for your videos, as I myself will visit them and scrutinise any invalid evidence.

Sir, I dont know which scholars you feel have been "exposed", names would be nice to hear, These scholars are knowledgable in the Quran far more than us.
