Brillant! Thank you for sharing. I am fan of McLaughlin from way back, but this is my first time to hear him with this beautiful ensemble of musicians. This has started my day off so positively!
ok Zakir - no words can express, John is simply a study in commitment to ones craft and Jan's work is beautiful amazing...but Hariprasad Chaurasia on flute - is in another dimension on this album and especially in this song...I am blessed beyond to have ever been exposed to such ... magic
EXCELENTE VIDEO!!!!!.......QUE LINDOS FONDOS,MUSICA,CADA INSTRUMENTO QUE SE ESCUCHA...EL SONIDO DEL SAX, ME RECUERDA TANTO AL DE UN EXCELENTE MUSICO COLOMBIANO APARTE GUAPISIMO!!!! LUIS FERNANDO VILLA...SIMPLEMENTE SENSACIONAL..UN BESOTEEE!!!!!
My heartfelt joy at Hariprasadji's melodious flute that sounds so in tune with the feminnine energy of the Earth. Did Hariprasadji grow up listening to a lot of women classical vocalists? His flute is a superb companion for classcial vocals as well. I hope to meet him someday.
The second half of this reduces me to tears. I do not possess the vocabulary. The saxophone is a primal scream and the rhythm by Zakir and John is perfection.
This is so delicate music, and I've had a significant relationship with this album from the early '90s. Music, as a means of expression, is not commensurable and therefore can't be set in order of superiority. However, an AllMusic critic Michael G. Nastos gives this gem only 2.5 stars out of 5, explaining that the group of musicians "falls short of its great potential" on this recording. What do you guys think of mr. Nastos' argumentation?

@cawobeth: Yes, thanks. I wrote as Info: "Zakir Hussain is considered the greatest tabla player on earth. Englishman John McLaughlin is thought by many to be one of the best guitarist on earth. An intuitive combination of styles and one of the best examples of what one deems music to be."
this tune has made me cry for last 8 years....and .....in all formats...be it be Jan Garbarek with hari prasad chaurasia or the verision with chaurasia alone or even the U srinivas version...John is god...he kills me with his sounds
@goirick Your impression of this song struck me such that I spent the next month listening to these various musicians works. The wife started american bellydancing, and the tabla is now a sound in the household that wasn't there before. In spite of the global warfares, Indian and Arabic music are now an excellent addition to this Texas household. Yes - It is very good ............
I cant say anything more but truths are hidden in various forms. We need to trace them from right sources. I am glad that I could tell you about them. We are just informers, mere mediums. I am really glad brothermen.Zen to you and your family.
