Ah come on, stop comment stuff like that! Tarja was the lead vocalist in the band while the songs where written and recorded. Tarja is the original vocalist of the songs, so thats makes her have the rights to sing them!

Ohh come on! Anette has improved incredibly! Watch Sleeping sun in Olavinlinna! It's quite beautiful... Tarja's voice has improved so much too and I think she could be so good in her own career so why arguing between Anette and Tarja if we can enjoy these beautiful voices and these amazing artists? Long life to Nightwish, to Tarja and to Anette.

the thing is that when anette fan comes and says "Tarja has a weak voice anette is better" it's rannoying they hear one song and that's "Amaranth" and haven't head her live they claim she is amazing. a freind of mine told me that whil he was on Nightwish concert in 2008 he and bunch of other fans left cuz' they couldn't belive how bad it was :P thanks for agreeing with me :)

you hear already a huge difference between the voice of Anette on CD and live, there you see that her voice was worked out technically. Tarja has many years of training in classical style, so Annette cannot be compared, as she was singing ABBA songs before...

There are so many beautiful versions of this song but for some reason, nothing beats the original to my ears. Even though Tarja is a much more experimented singer nowadays, the studio version from 1998 has this je-ne-sais-quoi that makes it a perfect whole!

This is really interesting for me having liked both Tarja's and Anette's stuff in Nightwish. But has anyone noticed how Tarja is singing in this video? Was she perhaps a little under the weather when she performed as she isn't good technical wise in her other live performances. She's slurring through a lot of pitches such as 1:34 1:53 2:25 2:42. I really enjoy Tarja's voice, but not when she isn't clean in her vocals, one recurring theme in a classically trained singer

Check the performance at Wacken 2010 for example, it's identical.

I don't disagree you ;) Actually, for a huge part I agree with you. I like Tarja really much (and yes, more than Anette) but I was blown away by Anette when see sang Sleeping Sun (somewhere in Belgium). I still prefer Tarja for it, but Anette can sing this one good too.

The band doesn't play the song the same way nightwish did, but different doesn't mean bad. When it comes to her voice, Phoebe318, I don't see such a big difference between this performance and "End of an Era" one. The main difference is in the sound.

She is singing like in the "2005 version of Sleeping Sun" and she also did it in the "End of an Era" concert.
