  • @aahhmmdd25 I got a 2ss and it has everything you could want except hid's with halos on it. Other then that its got brembos, sunroof, leather, 6mt, gauges, ect

    I've made my case for the 5.0 and 4.6 sounding similar.

    i have 3 top GM cars modified...to 530 the SS 570 the CTS-v and the Zo6 LS7 to a shocking 597 hp in NA trim.

    money matter! i never paid full price for a car ever! even the Zo6 was paid before the cadyy or SS was bought.

    I'm a 46 y/o been racing since 14 y/o.

  • @Triplethreat600 I just got an email from my mustang clubs newsletter editor. This article was comparing the new mustang 5.0 GT to a new BMW M3. The letter stated how silly this comparison was, BUT, the 5.0 shockingly outhandled the M3 on the track and beat it in a drag. I would never buy a new 5.0, for one, they're too expensive for my tastes and 2, I am not a fan of any new cars. It's all about real muscle, small block fords for life.   • @Triplethreat600 I also am in the middle of a heads/cam/intake swap. I am able to do it all in just under a $1,000 because I was lucky enough to find some nice deals that I couldn't refuse.

    drop300 lbs from the camaro to mustang weight and see how well the Bulky6.2 liter

    wich is smaller than the new 5.0 in demensional size...ya know, using a ruler.

    the 6.2 make more torque and HP. from a simple small block.

    MY CAMARO WAS 31k otd.....42k with mods to crush a GT500.

    were is the value in the mustang now?

    So if you like the GT so much get one.....expect to get raped by SS like mine all day. 11.5 with NO track prep!

  • Two of my friends have one. And I've driven both. I like how the LS1 Camaro's sounded so much more than the 2010's.

  • My homie has a 09 Escalade EXT with the 6.2 and we've revved 'em up together to hear the difference and to me they sounded a lot different.

  • They do, but rev a LS1 Camaro or Mustang GT next to the new Camaro and the LS1 and Stang will sound a lot meaner.

  • For a Chevy guy you are giving Ford too many props. If I rev the stang too hard the tranny will drop out. Guaranteed. My Father has a 2000 Pace Arrow motorhome with a 6.8L Triton V10, he bought it brand new 10 years ago, it only has 11,500 miles and the transmission is shot. Like, completely done for. It has low miles but gets driven enough, but not NEARLY enough for the transmission to just crap out that easily. 6.2>4.6 any day. The Camaro has been getting 25mpg at 75.

  • my cousin just got a ss camaro with a 454 in it i believe, and it just was not all that i thought it was going to be, but looks amazing. Its fast and quick dont get me wrong but i have been in way faster. But very cool car

  • yes you can get it on a v6. Go to their website. A friend of mine has a corsa exhaust on her v6 camaro.

  • @The92foxbody had a 95 GT-S last of the 5.0 OHV with flomasters and the 4.6 in 2000 they sounded the same! I've had alot of cars since.

    Now i have a ZLZ575 (performanced cloned) SS

    and a intake header tuned and pulleied 2010 CTS-V.

    Both sound deep ! one has ARH LT and the SS has LG Longtubes

    both are 1 7/8 also the SS has a catless back x pipe 3in all the way to Spintechs

    custom 3in/out The cts-v has an x pipe with no resonators and original mufflers.

    both better >new 5.0

    hey mustang guys how does it feel to watch the CTS-V smack down the Shelby GT500....not so tuugh are they? i can do whatever the shelby can do..to a limit.

    and outgun it mod for mod...

    intake ( ambient)/ crank pulley, headers+ x pipe....keep it quitewith stock mufflers

    making 565 rwhp.and 550 rw/torque

    Heavier and still beat it...gt500 auto is needed, too much hp

  • @Triplethreat600 If you think a 4.6 sounds the same as the old 5.0s, then you are tone deff. I'm a big chevy guy, but I know my cars. The new CTS-V is a nice car, sounds like you're proud of it, but at least in the old F body era you could take all that emissions shit off, just my opinion, old skool > new skool. Btw, I saw a new 5.0 being track tested at VIR raceway 5 weeks ago, the new 5.0 is purely a bad ass car, street or strip.

    well with the same flomasters they really sounded close....

    i believe it has to do with the firing order...and Ford manifold design.

    neither my 5.0 or 4.6 had headers....so that may have changed them.

    The V is classy and fast,meen looking for a caddy.too.

    now my SS has hoctkis springs and sways, endlinks, tunnel brace..pedders bushings.....as well as 530 rwhp through an auto with a new 2800 lock up stall

    silver with blck stripes, blk SS on sides and blk bowties

    that what my SS cost with all my mods...ok 42k.....look what a ZLZ575 can do

    my SS matches and exceed it 1/4 mile time. handling and braking + i have upgraded brembo drilled rotors+ HPS pads with braided lines

    i know a car needs suspension and braking mods once you crank up the HP

    my SS is very balance mod wise and only 42K (2300 maggie)

  • @Triplethreat600 If you're a person looking to pay 42k for a car i'm sure money is the last thing you're worried about, so paying 40k and then putting 5 - 10k into basic suspension, drivetrain and maybe some small performance mods such as a gt500 intake, the 5.0 will win. Besides, the camaro comes with a bulky 6.2L and the stock 1/4 mile times are only different in the camaros favor by .2 check out the vid 2011 5.0 vs. Camaro 6.2L Drag races Stock for stock, the camaro TANK of a body

    Yes smaller. As a chevy guy....you know the LSx series motors are very compact.

    my SS is very easy to work on because of this.

    don't start the 5.0 is smaller because of liters . cammer engine is bigger more hardware.

    0-120 the camaro is ahead by 1 second..6.2 ftw
