Sorry...but it's her own fault for thinking she could own a chimp and NOT get attacked (or in this case, her friend getting attacked). Besides that, it's FAR from the chimp's fault. He may have lived with her for YEARS but it was only a matter of time...Chimps are the most violent primates save for humans! I know it's sad, but it's even sadder that he had to die because of a human mistake!
