If you would like to hear a vocal similarity just pull up her 1963 dinah shore performance of "Cry Me A River," and you can hear a little winehouse in her voice. OF COURSE Bab's is WAY more talented, just a coincidence of tone or mabe Amy fashioned her voice after the early Barbra....SORTA

This is three years before she filmed On a Clear Day. She was at the apex of her unusual beauty in those period scenes in England (dressed by Sir Cecil Beaton). I had no idea that as late as '66 her teeth were in need of so much work.
actually amy and babs have a lot in common. especially in terms of responsiveness to material. but, the material they respond to is much different.
that said. b streisand would never fall prey to what amy has. it's actually one of the things that sets her apart. babs would never be undone by something like addiction to a drug. work, yeah, drug no.

She seems very confident in herself all the time. Real old time stereotypical hollywood with the shows and the lights and proud of every minute of it. she's awesome.
"i only want to do one a year...and not for many more years" spoken like she was in the business for 30 year already lol....this was only 1966...she was pretty much discovered in 1960--so within six years she was acting like an old pro---you go girl! another reason why i love barbra streisand :)
Now in her life Barbra is in LAZY land! It's so much she wanted to do when she was younger that she never got around to do those things. :( Love you Barbra I hope you do another Focker movie and let's hope for The Normal Heart. Maybe could we should we beleive.
Oh my, what an uncomfortably dry interview. Thank you for posting though. Would that Graham Norton could have interviewed her instead!

She definitely became much prettier during the 1970-73 period. She looks a little rough here.

She reminds me of Amy Winehouse in this film, I think its the eye makeup.

You should be shot for even muttering the two names in the same sentence.

I know what you mean, however I was not comparing talent, merely eye makeup.
In my opinion, Ms Striesand blows Ms Winehouse out of the recording studio.

Babs is the original; the real deal! But you know I'm just playin' whicha:)

A HUGE SHAME that Barbra, who always professed that she was an ACTRESS who happens to sing, never got to do a tv special in the land of Shakespeare.

But she did get to perform a bit from The Tempest in Belle of 14th Street.

The interviewer is Michael Dean from Late Night Line Up. A late night BBC2 show that ran from 1964 to 1972.
