Because you democrats forced the banks to loan money to people who could not afford the loans and therefore defaulted on them. Then in 2004, Republicans cried out for more regulation on the banks, especially Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and AIG, and you all told them to take a hike. Then in 2008 Nancy Pelosi stands up and blames Republicans saying that they wanted no regulation. Financial Reform would be voting the Dems out.
