  • thanks now i can speak it with my housbands parentsand were moving to helsinki, finland neax year.

  • I love that language! Your videos are pretty cool. Unfortunately i have never been to Finalnd but i hope i can go some time soon :D

  • @KingLocoMC You could say something like "Haluaisitko lähteä kanssani ulos/leffaan/kahville" = Would you like to go out/to the movies/for a coffee with me

  • i love this series but had a question

for how are you i have read at a bunch of different places that its " mita sinulle kuuluu?

i was wondering what the difference is with or with or without the sinulle

  • @DeathrowSaintsVideos You can really say the "how are you" in many different ways, just like in english. You can add or leave the "sinulle" part, it only means "to you". Mitä kuuluu is literally "what (are you) hearing", pointless if you take the words literally, but like we know Finnish has it own "interesting" twists! :D

  • i dont roll my r's is that wrong

  • @Gallantt90 Nah, you'll just sound foreign, but people will understand anyway.

  • i'm confused? i'm trying learn finnish on livemocha but i'm on youtube to learn how to pronounce. for your welcome it says olkaa hyva is that another way of saying it?

  • @starskeexx0 "olkaa hyvä" is more formal than "ole hyvä" or can be used when you're talking to more than one person.

  • yes can be said as "joo" too in finnish aside from kylla

  • Thank u for sharing this video! I'm from Mexico and I really want to learn Finnish language! Thank you so much! :D

  • This is wonderful, thanks! Could you do the same clips and always speak out the English translation also? Then one could also learn/listen, while doing housework or so. Thanks for your clips!

  • hmm, when you say mika sinun nimesi on the first time, i hear it like:

mika siUn nimesi on.. is it me or you actually pronounce it that way.. o.O?

damn i love Finland but this is harder than any other language....

  • @martmelee You're just missing the N there, but in certain Finnish dialects you, indeed, say "siun", but then the rest of the words would be in the dialect form, too. A single word in spoken language stands out like a sore thumb.

  • yeahh im going to Finland in 2 months for Tuska festival, ill start learning something! Gracias

  • you roll those "R's" so awesome!

  • @EarthShatterer09 Late reply but thanks! :D

  • nice beats

  • ok. english grammer was never my strong suite, and i struggle with word order in spanish since ive been taking it for a week. my question is: What is the word order in finnish? i.e. do adjectives follow nouns?

  • @srry4beatinu no, adjectives come before nouns in finnish. eg: blue sky = sininen taivas. methinks the word order is pretty much the same as in english. good luck.

  • If you get a chance, could you do a video on directions? Kiitos :)

  • Kiitos paljon, inFinnish. This really helped me.

  • Kiitos - Amazing that you do this for free! So awesomely helpful.

  • What a great language. It sounds so cool!

  • thank you for these videos. :] here in a few years i'll be moving to Finland, i'm still not 100 percent sure where, but it will probably becouth Finland. :]

these are helping me learn the language pretty quickly.

  • @XxVengeance46xX be southern Finland***

  • thank you so much! it helped me alot!

  • And people, forget my english mistake in the "Just one more thing..." comment. I wrote "know" instead of 'now"! XD

  • HAHAH Dude It Can mean Both Terve is Hello Or Healthy ;DD So Dont Worry

  • Just one more thing: "Terve" is a kind of greeting? Because I said this for Fredrik and Tommi, both from embassy, but know I research in Google Translator and the translation for "terve" is "healthy". OMG, did I speak wrongly? I can't believe it! T^T

  • @brunnaplacido Hehe :) thanks for your comments... so you are moving to Finland? And yeah "5trpl0xer" is right, Terve means both Hello and Healthy, but Hei or Moi (also hello, hi, hey) are more common in spoken Finnish.

  • @inFinnish Oh, I'm more relieved now! Thank you both! And I wish I was! But no, I'm not moving to Finland! T^T Tomorrow I'm going to present a work about Finland, and I'm going to teach some Finnish.

I always wanted to learn Finnish and when I discovered that isn't that difficult, this made me want to show this language to other people! So when my study group asked me to plan some presentation about a country I chose Finland! :D I love the country and the language, so why not?? 8D

  • @brunnaplacido "terve" is a greeting

  • However the guy from embassy, that was a sort of our guide, Fredrik, was so shy! Me and my friend tried to make our conversation as informal as possible but I don't think it worked very well. But he was very sweet and he gave we a lot of material, such as books and magazines.

He's married to a brazilian, yeah! She's a lucky one! Maybe Ville Valo marry me, haha! I'm single, he's single, why not? :P

  • Today I visit the Embassy of Finland, located in Brasilia, our capital. It was soooo COOOL! I'd been dreaming with this since I was 15 and they were very sweet with me, treat me and my friend Gabriel very well! *-*

  • Kiitos ;)
