iwo jima and Flags Of Our Fathers were Marine Corps stuff, and the reason so many died, is because Marines are cannon fodder pretty much, its messed up, but true, and its what they do best, fight, im army, but yeah, marines do kick ass

Oh, and if you do want to use Flags of Our Fathers as a source you probably shouldn't get the facts mixed up from the movie.  In the movie it says that we needed to take the island as a stratagetic hold. It had nothing to do with the media. u think ur troops are trained better. is it becuz we lost 6000 in iwo jima that only happened cuz politicians wanted that island. we had 3 days bombardment from the supposed 10 days, but nooo we want the island for the media or sumthing. soldiers r all trained the same.

actually a soldier is only a member of the Army. If he/she is in the Air Force, then they are a Airman, if they are in the Marines they are a Marine, if they are in the Navy, they are a sailor. As a member of the U.S. Army it always aggravates me when people use soldier to describe everybody, but I know that most people don't realize their mistake so I don't let it bother me too much.
