Blue whales need to be slaughtered. These killer beast should have died like the dinosaurs. It blows my mind something this big still exists. Biggest creature to ever roam earth exist with man and yet dinosaurs have more of an appeal. It's crazy that a small percentage of people will ever see this monster with their very own eyes and those who don't get that chance, like myself, only see it through photos and videos. So I guess it makes a lot of sense why Jurassic Park is the big attraction.

Argentinosaurus likely weighed a maximum of 40 -50 tons. any heavier then it would have collapsed due to lack of lung/heart energy to power it's muscles etc. Length wise it equaled a blue whale and possibly excelled but not 100 tons. blue whales are extremely heavy because of their near weightless environment :)

@dali366 okay then but still we don't know what creatures have roamed this planet, there could be some undiscovered fossils out there of creatures bigger than those whales but I guess we will never know so we cant say the blue whales are the biggest we can only say they are the biggest creatures known to man. @thththtg yes I do. well there could be much larger sauropod fossils than Argentino but these animals probably wod have been no more than 5 ot 10 tons xtra. To have that added weight for a land animal is ultimately a disadvantage because of the food/energy/power required to sustain that immense load bearing-that is 15 tons on each leg or about 20 tons on 3 legs when walking!!! A 100ft pregnant blue whale wod likely weigh over 200 tons... no way could any dino beat that! :D

I fully support what they are doing and think no whales should ever be killed. What we need is a human controlled avatar to teach and lead these whales.There is no reason this creature should ever been killed, all they had to do was run from easily identifiable boat hulls. It's a shame they aren't that smart to learn from all the 1000's of deaths. Plus 1 to more of these blues could come up under any boat and capsize them easily.
