  • AWESOME!!

  • are you playing this acousticly?

  • @mattastic0 yeah :)

  • @Guldenbart i'm gonna have to get one of these, are they very challenging to play? or is it like... you can play on one, or you can actually play it good?

  • @mattastic0 well, its definitely less challenging than playing the drums. But it needs a bit of practice though. If you have some patience and a feel for rhythm it should be no challenge :)

  • eress una makina lOkO! jajaj como tass sakao eesee rimillo ai de hip hop tu pija! :D

  • OMG YOU HAVE TINY HANDS!!!!!!!

  • That's a cool groove!

    cajons look fun

  • too many ghost notes! awesome!

  • Wow! Amazing man. You are really good. I was just researching Cajon's for a school project, when I saw your video. And this just blew me away. I also learned a little something about the different styles, so, THANKS!

  • celui ci sonne super bien mazette!

  • Hi, nice video !

I just bought a meinl headliner too. How strong do tight the strings to get this sound?

    Thanks

  • suona meglio il barattolo delle pringles

  • Thanks man, just when I was getting bored with my cajon you gave me some cool ideas. Well done.

  • @kickurr35 thanks ! glad i could inspire you :)

  • ^^good job^^

  • Those hand shadows are mesmerizing.

  • @halldan95 well i know they're fun what i meant was why make them arn't they the same thing as like a wooden box

  • @superskater4995 if you can find a wooden box that sounds like this, enjoy becoming rich.

  • i honestly dont see the purpose of these

  • how much does a cajon usually cost?

  • @edjorthebeast abou 100-150 € (if you want quality) :D

  • @Guldenbart cool thanks

  • @Guldenbart

hey what cajon do you exactly play (i have also also a meinl)

  • @Mrbuzebuze It´s the MEINL HCAJ1NT CAJON but I would recommend the SCHLAGWERK CP404 cajon - or schlagwerk in general - they are much better for their price (:

  • @edjorthebeast you get this one at thomann.de for 85 € .

  • man, you got groove :) good job!

  • Ist doch geil, eine gute Alternative zu Meinle ist Magnum.

Klingt auch sehr gut.Ist deutlich billiger.

  • very nice rhythm

  • fantastic playing sir.

  • SNAP !!! u have the same cajon as me :)

    check me out

    bonzo

  • wow~ i feel like im in the party... nice job

  • I like these but wouldnt it be better with some tom sound, or maybe a cymbal of some kind. Then it cam truly mimc full percussion.

  • hey thats a nice box. im trying to get one. i just had a few questions: whats the height and diameter, and how loud does yours get?

  • hey man, so i jus bought a new cajon and i was wondering if there is certian tuning for it ? cuz mine dont sound anthing like tht. can u message me bk???

  • Yeah I'm having the same problem... it just sounds like banging i cant get a decent sound

  • You have to adjust the screws to change the sound!

  • Do you really think that buying a Schlagwerk is worth it even though it costs 3 times the price of low-end Meinl? Are some Meinls better than others?

  • yes, i think so (:

most of the meinls dont have a that cool and full sound like the schlagwerk cajones.

  • nice

  • I think it sound fine! good ritm!!, you got it

  • sounds terrible. why ? is he ? or the brand ?

  • brand + mic :)

  • no he's good, the mixing is muffled. its probably recorded with a cheap mic

  • @mensamoo when are you posting your vid?

  • hey do you know is there anyway of making your cajon sound less ringy? i play one but its often pretty ringy if u get me

  • get some tissue paper fold a few times then place over the string and then put some tape over it will reduce the ringing :D

  • dude thats sick! omfg you deserve a bow! lol keep rockin those tight beats man!

  • hey, nice stuff!

since you've got both the meinl and th schlagwerk... what do you think is better?

I would like to get one cause I don't have enough room for a whole kit... I guess it would be nice to have some more percussions in the arsenal, being a songwriter... btw, my stuff is on the rock side.. so maybe take that in consideration when suggesting the cajon : )

Thank you and keep on the beat!

  • Schlagwerk is definetly better :)

Thanks and keep it up !

  • thank you for the suggestion!

  • what brand cajon is this?

  • meinl headliner series :)

  • Meinl, hard to recognize, isn´t it ? :D

  • Amazing !

  • *bowing*

  • oh ok, well how do you learn such good beats? I feel when i play i cant get anything good ha...i feel i just have a lot of random beats together...just take practice or you do anything different?

  • Just be patient and keep on practicing. Watching some cool cajon vids and trying to copy the played beats is also very useful :)

  • youre really good...i wish i could play mine like that ha...i got a meinl also, does it help to be in a room that echoes? i cant get quite that good of a sound on mine

  • Thanks :D

These Meinl Cajons just dont have such a perfect sound. The vid sounds pretty okay, because i placed the Mic at the back oh the Cajon, which lets the bass sound better.

  • what kind of box do you have

  • See in description ;)

  • i think you are absolutely amazinggg :D

  • haha wow that was awesome.

im savin up for one but i wanted to see if it was worth it. definitley

  • hi juanguano. tu make the snare you have to put the 5th of a guitar on the back of your cajon. sorry for my englich but i'm french so it's not very easy for me ^^

  • very nice !

  • wow, thats awesome, im trying to make a cajon in woodshop and i need to add the snare beads. anyone know how to do that?

  • wow you are one of the best ive seen :) good stuff

  • muy bien tokado tio

  • i dig it man! great work! which Cajon is that? I'm just curious because Meinl makes a lot of different ones

  • Hey dude,

    its the MEINL HCAJ1NT CAJON.

But if you think about buying one i´d recommend a schlagwerk cajon, sounds way better :D

  • well i ment more they its postioned n u gotta lean down, i got one yesterday its deadly.

  • Thats also just a matter of getting used to it :D

  • im considering getting one, but it looks kinda awkward to play

  • Thats just because i play hand-to-hand.

You can start with playing grooves just with left hand on snare and right on bass which is easy and also sounds very good ;D

  • 20 000 people have watched me playing Cajon.

Thats amazing ! Thank you guys ;D

  • nice man very nice :)

  • nice play dude take a look at mine ,PEACE

  • finally i've got my Cajon. exactly this one. Meinl Headliner CAJ1NT

    :D:D:D

  • Congratulations ! ;D

Martin Roettger has many interesting videos with good beats on youtube. When I just had got my Cajon I tried too "copy" his rythms. Works very good for getting the right feeling for the box :)

  • this is the best cajon performance I've ever seen.

  • Guldenbart,

I love the beat man it's very catchy. You have got skills.

  • great

  • hiya

iv one this same cajon, but cant get it sounding this nice. hav u adjusted the front screws at all? how tight are the allan bolts on the bottom?

    ta :)

  • I´ve loosened the upper front screws a bit, the bottom screws are adjusted the way, that the snare sound is as short and "crunchy" as possible. It´s not easy to tune this cajons the right way, but when you got it, it sounds really nice.

Just try out different tunings and find your personal favourite.

    Cheers ;D

  • My cajon is different (Cayuela) but you can also try taping the snare wire in different ways until the snare is crisp and snappy. If you have tension adjusters then adjust he snare wire so it's not too taught (but not too slack - you'll find the sweet spot with a bit of give & take) then tape in one place. Or two. Or one wide piece. Try it & see what works. Enjoy & good luck.

  • is tht a headliner?

  • yap.

  • Cambia la base, siempre el mismo fondo

  • Please tell me the complete name of this cajon so i can buy the same one, because meinl has a lot of different sort of cajons but this is the best one i've heard.

    THX

  • Meinl Headliner® Series Cajon HCAJ1NT

  • yep just bought this one.

Practicing now, and will be posting vids soon

  • Look forward to seeing the vids,I'm waiting on another Cajon coming from Germany,I'm mad about them now,I'm going to get enough to build a big wall so the neighbours can't get me,Ha Ha!

I'm gonna be using my Cajon for all the gigs i'm doing over xmas/new year etc,Bye bye Snare Drum,I'll have to change my username to CajonCrazyCraig!

Enjoy your practicing & have a good xmas & new year time!

  • Yeah, I know about the neighbour problems.

Already after 2 hours of playing the started complaining.

I used to play the drums for a couple of years, but this really is something different.

    I'll keep you posted.

Enjoy building your cajon wall and merry x-mas to you too.

  • ole ay k movimiento de manos, mu bien el tio

  • hi, was fürn meinl cajon spielst du denn da?

  • flamenco cajon

  • Wow dude....Awesome groove ya got....this sounds great....mind telling me which one this is...does it have the mic pickup in it? Awesome jam dude...God Bless

  • it sounds alot like the carter beaufords intro jam to halloween on the gorge dvd

  • thats interesting since i dont own this dvd ;P

  • Oh man you should check it out, try searching it on you tube. Its not a negative response or anything, I actually rather enjoyed it. I was just putting my two cents in on good 'ol you tube lol.

  • This cajones made in Thailand are just toys. Better get a LaPeru and you will know what i mean.

  • Does that bass sound that awesome acoustic, or is that from the micing?

    Awesome instrument, very good solo.

  • Nice playing on a cajon made in China. What a bummer now a days even cajones are being made there. This cajones luck the bass sound, and the reason to it is because the heads are too thick and rigid to give that nice bass that a flamenco cajon has.

  • I like my Meinl cajon's sound and for me it doesn't matter if it is REAL flamenco cajon sound or not.

  • Well you should try a flamenco cajon instead of this wanna be cajones.

  • hey can u tell me how u tuned your cajon

  • difficult to explain...

I just can say you that my snare wires are kinda tight ^^

Most important is that you use youre feeling when tuning it and that you make it very precise

  • Awesome! is that the headliner cajon, how did you get that soft bass sound?

  • yep, it´s a headliner ^^

I just postioned a mic at the back of the cajon ; )

  • cool, Burki aus dem Cajon-Forum!

  • Danke =)
