It was a very exciting day for all of us. I thought everyone would appreciate that small twist in the story that, in the end, gave Kate both showcases, due to a very minor miscommunication.

As the first showcase was presented, I began to just guess at what each item might cost, well knowing that if a car didn't show in this first showcase, the other contestant would most probably pass it along for Kate to bid on.

In the end, I came up with a number of $14,000. Seriously just some random luck. The amazing part was, as Kate was decided what bid she should place...

Thought I would offer some insight into this particular episode. I was one of the winning contestant's classmates. There were about 15 of us that decided to attend, after our Kansas State architecture class field trip had concluded.

After the two Showcase contestants have been determined, the producers tell each person they can choose one of their friends/fellow audience members to come down to the base of the stage and assist in the Showcase bidding process.
