  • This is in st.louis? I'm from San Diego and I know a band who did the same piece but not nearly as good.

  • I just randomly found this band. Good job to all of them!

  • I'm in the Lake Hamilton High School marching band and we are slowly getting better each year. We've gone to BOA for 3 years now. And i would just like to say that Broken Arrow is probably the best band! next to Avon of course lol but this show is by far the coolest show i've ever seen and heard! can't wait to see Broken Arrow at BOA st. louis this year!

  • i never saw this show...but i did see last year and i was completely amazed about your show! i am from MacArthur High School in Lawton and this is the largest band i ever saw!

  • I'm in this band, and this is my freshman year and i am so proud of this show. Talking crap about us isn't cool we support and respect every band we come in contact with whether they be a 20 person band or a band as big as ours we show respect and we should have it in return we aren't skanky, just because its different than a typical show it's just who Broken Arrow is and it's great! so if you cant just respect this activity for the greatness it is, then that's you problem, dont be mean to BA

  • @lamAlex13 ya it is a met you hear. Too bad it never matches with the tempo their going. good try though :)

  • How 'bout that band camp guys? Did you do 8 hour days? 12? ;)

  • the best thing about broken arrow is the way they perform, everyone out there sells it and they are by far the best band i have ever seen including avon, this show is my favorite out of all the shows ive ever seen i dont see how they didnt win nationals with this

  • Does anyone know the names to there music peices?

i am in love with the songs!!!

  • @RAQUELLE73020

It was majorly based on "The Rite of Spring" by Igor Stravinsky.

  • is that a met i hear?

  • @IamAlex13 Yes, the other band warming up across the campus. It was annoying on the field for sure :/

  • @IamAlex13 OH MY GOD I FOUND YOU AGAIN

  • @skkatter STOP CREEPING

  • Im in the Van Buren, AR marching band and we went to Broken Arrow invitationals and i saw them do their performance n even though we won 1st place i wuz in awe of what we could be. Broken Arrow is amazing!!!

  • OMG. Love love love Rite of Spring.

  • colorguard better werrrrrrrrrrk

  • this an outstanding band!! im just a little confused as to what the 'main idea' of the show is...

  • I've always been impressed with Broken Arrow; their commitment to performance, their musicianship, their showmanship, but above all, the kindness I experienced when talking to some of their band members right after their semifinals performance last year. Talk about true class. A great group of people.

  • ugh that met.

  • loved seeing this show in person last year!!

    -owasso sophomore

  • @TylerDaNinja Besides the fact that the band, 50% of the time, was either standing still, posing, or dancing, other than that, sure it was pretty good.

  • @xIcyxInfernox haha yeah i wouldve liked to see more marching, i liked the music the most

  • No one never stands the chance of winnig against them.

  • @katniss23 They're wonderful, but you never know when another band might come up and sweep them off their feet! :)

  • UGH, I remember the announcers voice. It was so monotone.

  • this is a great band! everyone in my band always talks about them. but ive always thought their shows are a bit.... different.. great marchers though ^.^

  • You know I like Broken Arrows shows, but mt only issue is that its supposed to be marching band not interpretive dance band.

  • I'm in the Union guard and I honestly like some parts of this show but others I really (and I mean really) don't like. I'll admit, the guards pretty good in all but I do think they put off a trashy vibe in some parts of the show. (Definately NOT saying they personally are...just the roles they portray.)

  • I'm an alumn from the early 90s and am so proud to see the Pride doing so well. VERY impressive!

  • :O these people must love jazz running haha

  • This band definately does not let there talent and ability take over their attitudes. They show kindness to all other bands, atleast, that's what I expierienced when I met them. They didn't show any sort of superiority.

  • Amazing!

  • As a freshmen of the pride this year I have to say that I love this show it's my favorite show and thank you to those people who actually put nice comments thank you

  • @Shmzmr I'm a freshman too this year of the Pride :DD

  • I agree with the niceness factor. I'm a member of the Morris High School band, and during the 2008 marching year, we contributed to their band and performed for them. Mind you, we're only a 35 member band, so to see them giving us a standing ovation when they've probably seen WAY better than us, it was pretty great. We talked with members afterwards and everyone was soooooo nice. So what if they win everything? They DESERVE IT. Have you SEEN their practice schedule? Way intense.

  • @DropDeadDanielle......i havent seen their practice schedule but i bet you we put in way more hours than them.

  • @katykat121 ummmm every saturday during marching season, dont know the hours, but yeah that and during the week

  • I like the show a lot, but the discontinuity at around 4:57 from the version on YataForLuda, without the "fun" part or musical joke, it feels like it's missing something.

  • I saw this show at Grand Nationals and it was my favorite. Those tails on the colorgaurd are so cool .Good job, guys. I'm in the American Fork (UT) Marching Band by the way.

  • Nice... you guys are really beast... I'm from the Green Hope High School Marching Band, we had the opportunity to perform at the Gator Bowl this past New Years. It was a really good experience. We could never pull something like this off... well done guys.

  • This band is in some way like a hot guy with a whole package. they have great style, they are always clean, the Unforms are always neat, their visual performance is so beautiful and they are a great group of kids. The Pride of Broken Arrow is an amazing band with an awesome sound:) Go pride i wish i had been apart of this band. Cant Wait to work with you guys:)

  • Oh, and I like the darker change of pace at 5:53 and the first time I saw the bit with you guys on your knees at 6:53 it gave me chills. Good job.

  • I play clarinet for Owasso and I have to say, I enjoyed watching this performance. I saw it about three times and liked it more each time. Most of the criticism I hear about you guys is that you don't march and play at the same time. Regardless of whether or not that's true, the drill still isn't that easy and you guys are very polished. Not only that, but your music is a good deal more difficult than most I've heard and you guys play it well.

  • Listen, It's one of those things, if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. We work just as hard as any band. We don't control placements. You don't know any of our guard personally, and to say that they are all slutty is just stupid. Im sorry but this is getting old getting on here, and everyday someone has something rude or hateful to say. What does it accomplish?

  • sometimes when people are short on talent (and desperate to accomplish a dream) - the worst of them resort to this kind of bullying. they can't do it on the field you know... or that's where there focus would be. the strange part in it all is that in their attempt to harm the competition, they do more damage to their own than anything else. (but that doesn't really matter to these people... they loathe themselves as much as most everyone else. this is simply an outlet for their self misery).

  • @nevershoutneverrr09 how do you know that i dont know any member of your gaurd personally? you cant say that because you dont know who i am or who i know.

  • I can't wait to see this on the Grand Nationals DVD! I was at this competition and watching this live was amazing. This is a really great band full of great kids and hard workers! I personally think 1:09 is the best!

  • wow, at the beginning of the season, i didnt care too much for this show but boy did yall turn it up at the end!! good job!

  • @spursfan4life i can agree with that. i didnt care for it too much either because as soon as BA got new uniforms i ws quickly turned off by them but immediately after listening to the judges commentary i fell inlove with this band again. i guess i shouldnt judge a book by its cover:)

  • My goodness. I just about died watching this. You guys make the bands in USSBA look like crap.

    Fan. Tast. Tic.

  • Also, from about 5:45 to 7:30, your show always had me on the edge of my seat. The music is insane. Probably the coolest thing you guys have ever done. :) Kudos.

  • I play clarinet for the Pride of Owasso. I have to say, the majority of our band respects you and what you guys do. I personally think your shows are very artistic and interesting. Yeah, it annoys me that you guys win everything, but it motivates me to make myself better. There's no reason to hate you guys for being good. Cuz you guys are seriously amazing, "enemy" or not. And to be honest, your performance at Grand National Finals is the only one that didn't put me to sleep.

  • so every other performance did?

  • @katykat121 no shes saying that like you guys at GN finals was the only one that year that she didnt go to sleep during the performance. as for the rest of the other bands like LD. Bell and Lc and GC and all those bands she just prolly got bored and thought it wasnt as interesting as yalls....

  • what band do u play in?

  • There is no reason to call their colorguard skanks bandnerd34. They are amazing performers and ranked one of the best guards in the nation. And their band is very respectful of other bands. So don't post stuff that's not true because you know that what you said is not true.

  • nevershoutneverrr09 is right. When we played their football team and when we marched this band was the nicest band we have met. They were obviously better than us.( for a fact we only have about 55 people). They gave a standing ovation. And when we met their band they were all nice. So im guessing that you just had a bad experiance that one time.

  • @alex12431243 their band is so awesome. they are nice. i met Jeniffer Hanford she was drum major in 2006 and 2007 and she was the sweetest person ever. Broken Arrow Pride is amazing:)

  • Bandnerd34: We work just as hard as every other band. Maybe you came in contact with a few people who were "prissy" but the overall attitude of our band is not prissy. We like everyone we talk to, we dont have any sort of vendetta against ANY band. We didnt use a met, that was being picked up from a practicing band cause this was taped so far up. and our guard is far from skanky.

  • @nevershoutneverrr09

He's just mad because they lost to Bixby at 4A-5A state.

  • @nevershoutneverrr09

    What was your show called?

  • @nevershoutneverrr09 dude forreal. extreme agree. even if you were "skanky(which yall arent) you dont have any room to argue. when ur band is THAT good. there is no room for anyone to argue with ya haha

  • @nevershoutneverrr09 BA came as a pep band to one of our shows (Southmoore) we marched against you guys twice this year (2011) i can honestly say that I love the BA band. they are the most amazing band as well as some of the most amazing people i have ever met.

  • wow good job at making your own school look like a bunch of assholes asshat

  • they own!!!!!!!

  • i didnt like that field becuz u could hear other bands warming up in the parking lot next to the field

  • You guys should check out our version of the rite. James Logan marching band 2009 "where the wild things are" we got first with a 99.70

  • I was upset. We were at state for 5A and I thought y'all would be there. Hahaha. This is a really good band.

  • What a phenomenal show. Bravo. This is so much more than just marching band.

  • i do have to admit the beginning reminds me of l.d. bells show "the qwest" last yr but idk

  • who is the colorguard instuctor

  • Wes Cartwright. Same as L.D. Bell.

  • i have nothing against this band, they are amazing, but i really didn't like the show this year

  • great job Broken Arrow. I was in Enid High and always wished i could have been in broken arrow's lmao.

  • u kno im tired of ppl talkin crap on B.A. rele ppl they work hard just like every other band they get what they get by earning it and not letting it go there amazing...and no i dnt go to b.a. either i think they deserve everything they get

  • agreed. perhaps what some don't realize is that they have lost many times over the past 40 years. (and they will lose again!) - they're just been on a roll the past few years and it's an honor to have oklahoma bands be recognized as national contenders now.

  • yes it is at least one of the bands in the mid west is being recognized as a national contender unlike nebraska n iowa i go to bellevue east high school n we have one of the best marching bands besides bellevue west in nebraska i think its all abt resources n unlike ok ne doesnt have as many n all tho B.A. has done an outstanding job my fave O.K. band is Union...

  • @east1012000 union is amazing. they have, imo, the best band program in oklahoma. Broken Arrow is my second favorite.

  • I am in the Union renagade regiment marching band.

  • @east1012000 thank you. at least some people recognize our talent.

  • @katykat121 your talent will always be recognized:0 its so amazing. everything is so weel put together. i cant imagine how all the practices are to make each performance so amazing:) you guys truly are an amazing band its no mistake that your at Grand Nationals when you go. your a band that actually deserves to go. you have an astounding sense of beauty and you truly show great art work. its amazing:)

  • that means were doing amazing now and everyone should watch their back ;]. sure we may lose some time, but at the rate theyre going, we may not lose for a while :)

  • i felt so sorry for that guy on the 30 yr line on side 2 at 9:16. :/

  • what do you play? i play alto sax in the owasso bandd.

  • aww you know, no need to get hung up on a concept. not everything is for everybody. there are definitely top school bands that have a style i don't like or understand. but clearly BA has something special here as they were awarded fan favorite at BOA Grand Nats.

  • GIFTED? That was a fantastic show, very clever and well thought out.

  • I think the word your looking for is character. :)

  • well i really like the first movement... but the other ones not so much... same with all their other recent shows, the opener is better than the rest of the show...

  • and i see them re-use drill moves ALL THE TIME! ill watch their shows all in a row and see some of the same moves in all of them

  • this year it was obvious they pulled their favorite moves from the past few years and tried to find the right formula with it. that's not uncommon. you see it in the music industry all the time with dance moves. hehe. some of this may be due to wes cartwright - the show's visual designer and guard director (who also writes for LD Bell high school which consistently scores extremely high at BOA. they were #2 again this year at nats).

  • you might keep in mind this is a band that has a strong track record that spans over many decades. they've had different styles over that time - i remember when it was military, and everything had a tight snap to it. i remember when they knocked out exciting spanish style music, wearing black cavalier hats with long hooked plumes. they will change again and again. it's ok not to like them. ;)

  • you might study the judging system, focus on the music aspect first, or parts of the system you may not be aware of. no matter how great any band's show, it's all subjective - there will always be some who hate it. and who knows why owasso doesn't compete OBA, they do participate in BA's invitational, and are widely respected. regarding fan fave, considering there are many better bands w/excellent BOA track records, that have huge fan bases in attendance, that's what makes that award so special.

  • @evanatsea

The festival espanol show back in like 1999 was fantastic.

  • @tulsaguyonbrkside That was the last year I marched. I LOVED Festival Espanol.

  • Congrats BA! Loved this show and looking forward to seeing what you have in store next season.

  • uhh. lol

  • I feel like I've been stolen from.

  • its a shame the ending isnt on this. :(

  • Download the video... that's a YouTube issue. =)

  • not endind part, the ending drill, the music is on, but not the movement.

  • where do u download?

  • @devonvinson80 Click more info on the videos description.

  • wats the name of this show

  • Rite of the Raptor - (inspired by Igor Stravinsky's classical piece, Rite of Spring).

  • gorgeous show! field opera at its finest. congratulations on another amazing year at grand nationals PRIDE! winning the "fan favorite" award was a wonderful bonus as well!

  • one of the best shows ever put together. it has so much emotion. yes it is odd, but for what these kids had its great. i think this show is very innovative.

  • @nevershoutneverrr09 yes agreed. they really kept themselves in character:)

  • Awesome - Great Quality
