Mac's are crap but you can do alot with them lolol I have an apple 2c that i have cooled with nitrogen and overclocked to 28000 GHz and i run a copy of windows snitch on it. but i have trouble running my 3D apps on it even after perpetually update. I would upgrade to one of those allin one units only if i lived in a sardine tin !

if you have windows vista, i strongly recommed that you upgrade to windows 7, i had vista and it was pre-installed on my laptop, had it for 40 days and then i got a virus, it attacked the whole computer, no icons would work and yeah it blocked the internet too, I got windows 7 on saturday and got it installed on my lappy and now it's heaps better. The person that fixed my computer said that vista is known to get virus and not very good. If you have XP than keep it unless you want to upgrade to 7

we build all our pc,s in house mate...go for a gigabyte MB......a dual core CPU..2.2 ghtz or better..a decent vid card..with at least 512mg onboard mem....at least 2 gig RAM...a 250 gig HDD or better...I like western dig HDD,s...and windows 7...and at least a 450 watt PSU...you could easy build this for under 700...hope this helps....

@shaun1912 Keep a laptop for as long as it works. As long as you keep it in good condition and maintain it often it won't go out of date that fast. If you're using a laptop for gaming like me, you'd be updating it everytime a new game came out with higher system performance demands.

AU$699 is pretty cheap for such a machine. You will have everything - don't need to buy a screen ... But for sure that is no gaming computer but good enough for YouTube and other communication stuff.
Haven't had any real issues with my WinXP for several years - haven't had any better system up to now. Good they don't offer it with Windows Vista. About Windows 7 I still want to wait a year or so.
Vista is ok now..but the early versions were shit..full of bugs...and it still hogs system resources...ok if u have a powerfull machine...no good for ppl with older ones...microsoft have even admitted that vista was a disaster..lol..

Heya Pete how are you, i was wondering if u have a solution for dust and heat, i've looking around and seems like the only way to fix that issue is sumerging the pc in mineral oil.
Not a bad little PC for those that don't need all the bells and whistles. Then again if your like me, you can build a nice one for the retail price of that thing. And usually have the spare parts to do it. :D But if you want something with a manufacturer warranty and good to go out of the box, it seems impressive.
