I had a symbiotic relationship with my mother. As a result of this symbiosis I did not develop as a separate human being. I always felt like I don't exist. Empty. Hollow. That my body is not my own. When I look at myself in the mirror I don't know who I am. I'm in psychological therapy but really want to know that there are other people somewhere in this world that share my problem. that i'm not the only one. If anybody feels the same and want to contact me . My email: ab.julia5@gmail.com.
my friend is so dependant on me for money ,for affection, for councilling for food and shelter and if I withdraw my help he threatens suicide. He has tried suicide a few times anyway off the cuff.I feel my identity draining away and my life being ruined but the sight of him deteriorating is too much and I take him in again.
He is so sick and im becoming sick too.I have no life since I met him...HELP
Seems like you're also dependant, since you're asking for help. a psychologist can only guide you or 'show you the path' but the 'hard work' is made by you. Hope you 'solve' your symbiotic relationship soon enough. Much fraternal love to you. (whoever you are) Fernando Sotomayor.
He tried to hang himself in the bathroom and I had to cut him down. The image was still in my head when I wrote that text the next day.Sometimes I look for advise.Help is impossible in these situations.I find im happier on my own but I worry for him since he usually ends up in a fix if hes gone more than five days.symbiotic is an interesting generalisation.I could just put a pillow over his head and be done with it.Or just kick him on to the street.
try one of the books if you're looking for more depth and differentiated description; escape from freedom (USA) or fear of freedom (UK), Man for himself; these have in depth description and analysis in this area
Does anyone know of any books written on this subject? I am in a symbiotic relationship with my mother and I need help to get out of it before I myself have a psychotic breakdown.
amazing words................
