Yeah I remember it mainly in season 4 ep10 but the music I'm guessing they made their own so might not be able to get it anywhere, love the music though.
the first time you see this is in season 1, but only with the flowers scene. In season 4 ep 10 the missle scene was added and then comes the flower scene(awesome music in this part too). Finally, in season 7 it shows all scenes put together.
Smallville was the first to use that footage, it also showed this in Season 1: Epi.6, HourGlass, and S.7, epi.18 too(: But I don't know the music though(:
i've been looking for this comparison ever since this episode first aired... thanks a lot. and yes, the song they played during the Lex scene is awesome... well, so was the music during T3...
technically it wouldnt be stealing since Terminator 3 was made by Warner Brothers, which also makes Smallville. more of a sign of laziness than anything.
Well even if it is the same, the movie and show are both done by WB (Granted that smallville is done by the CW witch once the WB)but anyway the shot works with both
Obviusly it was made for T3 it was probably justed used by Smallville to save alot of money. Just because T3 was released in 2003 dosnt mean it was all created in 2003 ;)
I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! When I saw the psychic episode, that was the first thing I noticed. Lex Luthor created Skynet. That would be awesome: Lex Luthor vs. the Terminator.
Obviously, T3 had this scene first. Does anyone here honestly think that a multi-million dollar film is going to copy special-effects from a TV show? It's not a big deal though, I've seen a lot of shows do this. Sometimes a TV show doesn't have the time or budget to create their own special-effects. I don't know how many times I've seen scenes from Top Gun and Crimson Tide in a TV show. The people who make Smallville probably figured it would save them time and money.
Mark Snow in 2003 huh? And you've been trying your whole life to find out the composer of that music? Well you're very technologically sound for a four year old.
That footage from Smallville was actually from "Hourglass". Not the season 4 episode. But wow that episode of Smallville aired in 2001 or 2002 and T3 came out in 2003 I think....So Terminator 3 copied it from Smallville or they both got it from an unknown source. The music playing during the Smallville scene is by Mark Snow the composer of Smallville and he hasn't released any tracks yet so you will have to either wait for it to come out on cd or rip the audio from the video file yourself.
ummm... obivouslly terminator had it before because terminator 2 judgemeant day came out sometime in the 90s and this aired 2004, but this isn't the first time ive seen terminator and smallville relations, the 2nd episode of season 4 has the terminator thats not arnold from t2 in it
Its not from Terminator 2 Judgement day. Its from Terminator 3 Rise Of The Machines. Which came out in 2003. But yea it still came out before smallville aired.
oh, yea, right, ur right, i was thinking of that vision the mom has in the 2nd one, its the same ecxact thing that happens at the end of the third one but it shows the entire world beinmg bombed, not just a playground geting blown up, this clip shows hole world geting blown up too so yea
This footage was actually re-shown in season 4 the original airing of the terible Luther future was the 2nd episode of season #1 of smallville. I own all the seasons. A blind psychic see it after touching lex's hand. It wasn't till 4 years later that lex finally saw it himself.
Terminator 3 was released in theatre's in 2003 so filming would have been in 2001-2002.
The smallville episode aired in October 2001 so filming for this and additional episodes would have been August-Sept 2001
I own all five seasons. Awesome stuff. However, I moved recently and I don't get the CW (or WB as it was previously titled) anymore so I have to scrounge it off of here until the DVD set of season 6 comes out. Anyways, thanks for the info.
You might want to check again cause like you i also have every episode of smallville ever. I went over the episode Hourglass (blind psychic) and it did have the footage from the later lexs future but technicly there was no footage from Terminator. Terminator only showed the rockets going up and blowing up but in hourglass there were no rockets.
I'm surprised that one didn't sue the other. Thanks for that little tid-bit I hadn't realized it. However, I'm going to have to compare my Smallville DVD sets to the Terminator 3 movie that I own. Good thing I have two TV's in my room so I can run them both at the same time.
it was originally filmed for smallvilee, its easy to work out, as the farm in both is clarks farm

Terminator premier is 30 June 2003.
Smallville episode original air date is 1 December 2004.
1 year and 4 months after the terminator premier. The answer is obvious.

Mark Snow does the music for Smallville. Unfortunately he doesn't have the music available. He does an awesome job with it, though!
